Police Fail to Arrest Left-Wing Shoplifting Protesters
The great thing about Left-wing activism is that it fills its proponents with a warm glow of righteous indignation and moral superiority while being at everyone else’s expense. Mobs of the usual suspects, last seen gluing themselves to roads and hanging off motorway bridges, took their crusade to supermarkets on Saturday, according to the Telegraph:
Left-wing activists have started a shoplifting spree across Britain in protest against “billionaires hoarding wealth”.
Members of Take Back Power, which is viewed as the successor to Just Stop Oil, stole food from supermarkets in four cities on Saturday morning and donated it to food banks.
The activists claimed “liberating” produce from the branches of Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Tesco was “non-violent action to resist the super-rich”.
Daily Sceptic readers won’t be raising any eyebrows at the police response to this mob rule coordinated heist:
Police have made no arrests in response to the shoplifting, a spokesman for the activists said.
At 8.30am, activists walked into supermarkets in Exeter in Devon, Truro in Cornwall, Didsbury in Manchester and Lewisham, south-east London, and stole items.
They placed the items in cardboard boxes with signs which read: “These things are going to those who need them.”
Naturally, the thieves (for what else could one call them?) had their Robin Hood-style excuses at the ready:
Ruth Cook, 74, said she stole items from Morrisons on Prince Charles Road in Exeter because “we have a terrible situation in this country”.
“Families are struggling and children are going hungry, while the profits some companies make are obscene,” the company director said.
“The answer is to tax the super-rich. I’m taking this food and delivering it to a food bank collection point because we need to do something about this.”
Perhaps something could be done about shoplifting? According to the Dorset Echo:
The group said “what’s legal isn’t necessarily an indication of what’s moral or right”, and it was “necessary for ordinary people to be stepping into action given the scale of crisis our country faces”.
The Mail quoted from the organisation Take Back Power’s social media:
The CEO of Sainsbury’s pays himself 239 times that of an ordinary full time employee in his company.
The super rich don’t need a ‘magic money tree’ when they freely pick the pockets of working people every single day. It’s theft. Nothing more, nothing less.
However, the plot thickens. The police told the Mail that the activists had paid for the food taken, so no offences had been committed. But the group “told the Daily Mail this was not true”:
Organisers of the group told an open launch event attended by the Daily Mail that activists would “take over” high-end stores and raid food stores as part of a week of action in April.
Co-founder Arthur Clifton, 25, told more than 140 would-be activists who attended the launch the plans were part of a long-term aim for the “mass-mobilisation” of 10,000 supporters he hoped would carry out acts of “civil disobedience” at the 2029 election.
Pictures of Saturday’s do-gooders showed the familiar line-up of young adults with dyed hair and pensioners, all presumably with nothing better scheduled or any other serious commitments on a March weekend.

Interesting to see how generous these Merry Men and Women can be with other people’s money, especially as their actions can only result in a further elevation of prices to make up for the rise in UK shoplifting.
The Telegraph’s piece is worth reading in full and so is the Mail’s.

As they claim to be stealing from the rich to give to the poor, why did they not choose Nottingham to start their ‘protest’?
Too much risk of being stabbed by a druggie lunatic not sectioned because of his colour.
It’s not surprising that the death-wishing madleft nihilists continue their work of destruction. What is appalling is that our dysfunctional police is now completely captured by the nihilists.
The “super-rich” – yes, the super rich customers and employees and shareholders of major UK supermarkets. The vast majority of all those categories of people are NOT super rich – quite the opposite. Most of the shares are probably held by pension and other funds which are invested in by “working people”.
And the CEO of Sainsbury does not pay himself – his package is approved by the board of directors and then ratified by the shareholders who own the company.
My guess is that looking at this lot in the picture, that not one of them has a job, they are probably all in receipt of some kind of benefit, in other words they are parasites on those who need the jobs in the Supermarkets, and the customers who will only see their prices increase in order to fill the time of these no doubt work shy individuals
Exactly right. We’re only talking about a very select few people here that are the target of these messed-up middle class Leftists. The effects of their actions are ultimately to inflate food prices for everyone (making them less affordable also to food banks!)
The ominous threat of “civil disobedience” for the 2029 elections says a lot about this group’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law. Perhaps they’re frightened the electorate will ditch the soft and hard left policies of recent governments, and feel they’ll need to intervene to prevent that happening.
So when are the people running these foodbanks going to be charged with receiving stolen goods?
The muppets involved claimed that the stolen goods were given to food banks but hopefully the food banks told them where they could stick their “donations”, and it wasn’t on the shelves, because reputable organisations don’t want to be associated with criminality and pointless virtue signalling.
It would appear the UK police have their priorities in order. Shoplifting decriminalized while posting a spicy comment on Facebook gets 6 armed police waiting to arrest you at the airport on your return from your hols. No further details on this, unfortunately, as I’m very intrigued what he’s supposed to have said that would warrant this response.
”The Greater Manchester @gmpolice solving the crimes that matter. A man is arrested at the airport for a “Racist” Facebook post by six armed police officers. He’s taken away in a police van.”

There will be two types of people involved, those who are well of themselves and those who do not work but are paid to do this. Both types are brainwashed and will do anything their leaders tell them. Dawn raids on their homes will snuff this out in a flash.
Threatening them with long sentences unless they grass up their sponsors will sort future attacks out rapidly.
Shall we go visit these people’s homes and appropriate their stuff and give to each other?
I mean if they can go and steal from property, in full view of the Police, and the Police do not arrest and prosecute, what is to stop any of us doing the same? and I am sure these very virtuous members of the above group will only be too happy to follow in the teachings of Christ, and give up all they have and follow.
If they do not then they are as I guessed just the equivalent of every looter, and thief, they have stolen things from others that do not belong to them. I wonder if they have children and if social services consider that these people’s children are being raised by people who actually care about the moral upbringing of their children. My guess is they believe thay are above the law becasue they have posh voices.
They are scum, and if the Police do not press charges against each and every one of them, then it sends a message to us all that we can steal from whoever we want and there will be no punishment.
Plus, do we know for sure whether ALL the food they steal ends up in food banks? Are they accounting for all of it?
Seriously?
They paid for the goods before they ‘stole’ them?
That’s pretty edgy… Welcome to middle class anarchy, I suppose?
Well, hats off to “Take Back Power”.. You’ve just handed the legions of teenage shoplifting delinquents an instruction manual on how to make security guard / police turn a blind eye: Just breeze in and out of there with everything you can cram into a box with the appropriate writing on it!
Robin Hood’s not meeting much resistance from the Sheriff.
They are not “do-gooders” if they are not doing good. Stealing is wrong. Just because you think someone else steals things, does not make it right for you to follow their bad example.
True do-gooders work hard, earn money and then use some of it to donate to those food banks.
Stealing will just push up prices and cause more working class and poor people to suffer.
The food banks are morally corrupt if they know that they are receiving stolen goods.
Maybe some civil arrests are in order?
If they are stealing and claiming to give the stuff to food banks those food banks are guilty of receiving stolen goods and should be prosecuted.
So this Arthur Clifton, co-founder of the organisation, had more spent on his private education than a lot of people make in a year. I bet his parents are so proud.
Surely the directors of the food banks should be arrested for receiving stolen goods.
