Jewish Students Shunned by Antisemitic Housemates

Jewish students are being shunned by antisemitic housemates as anti-Jewish prejudice is “normalised” on campus with a fifth of students saying they would be reluctant to share a flat with Jews, a report has claimed. The Telegraph has the story.

Antisemitism has been “normalised” on campus with a fifth of students saying they would be reluctant to, or would never, share a flat with Jews, according to a report.

The Union of Jewish Students (UJS) published research on Monday revealing “disturbing” evidence of antisemitism across UK universities.

It says: “Jewish students have told us they have faced physical and verbal abuse, social ostracisation and widespread antisemitic attitudes.”

It also warned that “antisemitism has become normalised on our campuses” and that “glorification of terrorism is prevalent and unpunished”.

The report found that nearly one in four students, or 23%, have seen behaviour that targets Jewish students for their religion or ethnicity.

Furthermore, 49% of students have heard slogans or chants glorifying Hamas, Hezbollah or other proscribed groups on campus. Some 47% have witnessed justification of the October 7th attacks, rising to 77% among those who encounter Israel-Palestine protests regularly.

Among the images highlighted in the report include graffiti saying: “F— Jews” at Essex Student Union, leaflets featuring a Star of David intertwined with a swastika being handed out at the University of Bristol and an image of an Orthodox Jew on a whiteboard at City St George’s in London, with the caption: “This room was promised to him 3,000 years ago”.

An image depicting a skull with the words: “Put the Zios in the ground” was also circulated on social media by multiple student groups in October 2025.

Responding to the report, Karen Newman, of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, described it as a “wake-up call”.

She said: “It is not for Jews to shrink their identity on campus to fit in, but for universities to ensure they are welcome and tolerant places for all.”

Louis Danker, the UJS President, added: “A new wave of student activism has interrupted the rhythm of campus life, with frequent protests, semi-permanent encampments, blockades of buildings and disruption of lectures and graduations.

“Decades-old boycott movements have adopted new, nefarious trends, targeting the removal of all ‘Zionists’ from campus and the ‘globalisation’ of ‘intifada’.”

I’d hazard a guess that if any student said they didn’t want a Muslim housemate, they’d be hauled before the authorities on charges of Islamophobia, double quick?

And if a Muslim said they didn’t want a non-Muslim housemate, fine and dandy.

Yes indeed. In fact, replace “jew” with ANY other demonym and repeat that sentence, you”d likely get a knock on the door from the police.

“I would rather not share a flat with a moslem / black person / asian / homosexual / whatever_other_than_jew” would cause outrage.

The writing beneath the drawing of an orthodox Jew is that of a semi literate 8 year old; the thinking behind it is the same.

I thought the government was supposed to see diversity as a strength. So how can they allow this sort of thing to ferment away in our academic establishments?

Because they and their philosophy is terminally dim?

Or perhaps not even that intelligent.

This is probably the result of the dumbing down of universities in order to accommodate the less intelligent students coming from an ignorant background. There always has been this sort of Jew hating nonsense among some working and middle class families who have handed it down over centuries. It’s also found in European populations. And unfortunately this also affects the police, who are recruited from graduates with dumbed down degrees.
The answer is to defund and raise standards.

Surely you also have to consider the impact of the much higher % of Muslim students reflecting their share of the overall population.

83% of Jewish Israelis support the military strike against Iran, with 46% backing the idea of striking Iran’s nuclear facilities even without US support.
Support from Jews worldwide will also be a significant figure.
It is no wonder that people who understand why Iran is part of the resistance against Jewish subjugation of the Palestinians since 1948 have an antipathy to those who support the Israeli governments brutal actions.
That antipathy has nothing to do with anti-Semitism.

Do you support the Islamic regime, which is not afraid of death, having a nuclear bomb and missiles which could reach Europe, apart from dominating the Gulf Arabic states and carrying out their aim to destroy Israel?

I support the right of Iran to defend itself against US and Zionist Israel aggression.

I see in another article comment thread that GHF reveals that he is of the “hard left”.

Useful knowledge when reading what he writes here.

Whether you believe zionists rule the world or not. Jewish children have no part in that, as well as their Jewish parents. Whatever is happening in terms of control or manipulation is happening light years above their pay grade.
the same people who cry about the action in Palestine and the “innocent” lives it destroys are fine when it comes to destroying the lives of their proclaimed enemies.
such hypocrisy!

It’s becoming far easier to understand how the Nazi’s seized control and 6 million Jews were murdered, whilst the vast majority of the German people either participated or turned a blind eye.

These “students” would have been willing recruits for the Hitler Youth.

Shades of the 1930’s you don’t want to repeat, it didn’t end well last time. But probably inevitably as we gradually progress towards becoming an Islamic state over the next couple of decades. Religion really is the base evil and responsible for most of the World’s conflicts. We really haven’t caught up with Darwin yet, have we?

People, especially lefty youngsters, need to be categoric in understanding: valid opposition to the crimes of Zionism don’t justify any degree of antisemitism. Not all Jews are Zionists, far from it (despite the false impression Zionists attempt to portray of this fact).
