Iran’s New Supreme Leader is “In a Coma and Has Lost a Leg”
Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is “in a coma” and has lost a leg after being seriously injured in air strikes, according to reports. The Mail has more.
Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, is in intensive care at the Sina University Hospital in the city’s historic quarter surrounded by security officials, according to a source in Tehran. A section of the hospital has been sealed off to guard Iran’s Supreme Leader.
It is unclear whether Mojtaba was injured in the same air strikes which killed his 86 year-old father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on February 28th.
The source, who does not want to be named out of fear for his life, said the new Supreme Leader is under the care of Mohammad Reza Zafargjani, Iran’s Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education and one of the country’s top trauma surgeons.
Zafargjani’s Persian Wikipedia page details eight years’ experience operating in the Iran-Iraq war of the 1980s. The regime’s most trusted doctor was also injured by chemical weapons himself in the war.
He is believed to be assisted by another senior surgeon, Dr Mohammad Marashi – the brother of former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani’s wife and a trusted figure in the Islamic regime.
The wounded Supreme Leader is also reported to have received a visit from the current Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian two days ago. The President is believed to be being fully briefed on Khamenei’s condition.
The source told the Sun through secret messages sent to an exiled dissident based in London: “One or two of his legs have been cut off. His liver or stomach has also ruptured. He is apparently in a coma as well.”
While the new Supreme Leader has also not been seen for weeks, Iran is being run by regional commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, who are believed to be under orders to fight on indefinitely – even without a leader.
It is impossible to verify the condition of Iran’s new Supreme Leader due to the regime’s current internet blackout, but Iranian state TV has referred to Mojtaba is “Jaanbaz of Ramadan” – meaning ‘wounded war veteran’.
Many believe the regime is being run by a ‘Ghost Ayatollah’, as the rogue state continues hitting neighbouring Gulf states and sending oil and gas prices soaring.
It comes as another source, a former study partner of Mojtaba, revealed that the new Supreme Leader is said to be “obsessed with the end of days” and is “more dangerous” than his father.
Mojtaba Khamenei is reportedly unafraid of “killing thousands” and will “try and control the region” if war breaks out, exiled official Jaber Rajabi has revealed.
Worth reading in full.
This is the problem with Islamist fanatics like those in charge in Iran. They aren’t rational like most leaders, who would recognise when they are beaten and seek the best peace terms they can. They believe they are on a divine mission – to wipe out Israel, among other things – so would rather their entire country was laid waste and its people slaughtered than surrender. With no sign of the emergence of an internal armed resistance to the Iranian regime, it’s hard to see how anything short of a ground invasion could topple the zealots – and Iraq shows us how that kind of operation can end up: stuck for decades in a bloody and costly nation-building enterprise.
Stop Press: Despite the coma reports, Mojtaba Khamenei has delivered a written statement – his first message since taking power – vowing to keep striking Gulf countries if they do not expel US troops. He said:
Dear brother fighters, the will of the masses of the people is for the continuation of an effective and deterrent defence.
Likewise, the lever of closing the Strait of Hormuz must certainly continue to be used.
Studies have been conducted regarding the opening of other fronts in which the enemy has little experience and will be severely vulnerable, and their activation will take place – should the state of war continue and in accordance with the considerations of expediency.
I also extend my sincere gratitude to the fighters of the Resistance Front. We consider the countries of the Resistance Front to be our closest friends, and the cause of resistance and the Resistance Front is an inseparable part of the values of the Islamic Revolution.

Poor old sod. But at least he’s still got arms.
Apart from still being well armed, I rather fear that when he delivers his First Statement he is likely to drone on a bit …………….
And Muslims aren’t supposed to get legless….
Yes but he’s hopping mad.
Oh dear how sad never mind.
He was found in the girls dorm at the university with his face caved in. When asked what had happened, he said that the girl he had come to see had stood him up!
I’m going with the “He’s dead” option;

It’s apparently kosher, says Grok. These people are barmpots;
“Yes, the video appears to be real and depicts an actual event that took place on March 9, 2026, in Tehran’s Revolution Square. It shows a loyalty ceremony organized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for Iran’s newly appointed Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei (son of the late Ali Khamenei), where a life-size cardboard cutout of him was used because he did not attend in person—reportedly due to security concerns amid ongoing conflicts or possible injuries from recent airstrikes.
The footage matches descriptions from multiple sources, including state television broadcasts, and shows no obvious signs of digital manipulation based on frame analysis. For context, this isn’t the first time Iran has used cutouts in ceremonies—similar props have appeared in past events honoring figures like Ruhollah Khomeini.”
We could do with one of the cardboard cutouts to stand in for Starmer…hang on, perhaps we already have one in regular use, purporting to be a leader of the government.
Tis but a scratch?
And a leg!
He can lead the clapping when the choir gets going!
Well, may I be the first to congratulate Mr. khamenei. I sincerely hope the food is to his satisfaction.
Hands up who wants to be Iran’s next supreme leader!
‘The message from Iran’s new leader Mojtaba Khamenei…says that the “lever of blocking the Strait of Hormuz” should still be used by Iran…”friendship” with neighbouring countries, but advised them to close American bases, which… Iran will continue to target.’
Clearly it is the IRGC that are in control. Only intervention on the ground by Israel/U.S. forces can deal with the “Fred in a shed’ drone attacks on shipping.
Meanwhile oil prices soar…higher UK household fuel bills…higher inflation…higher government repayments…higher taxes…
And, thanks to the incompetence of successive British governments, Britain is impotent, powerless to protect the interests of its citizens, its servicemen bereft of ground based air defence with which to protect themselves.
What an utter disgrace!
But oil prices soared when Russia invaded Ukraine under Biden but came back down again. I’d rather have higher fuel prices than radiation sickness.
“Two legs bad, one leg (or fewer)…” Can someone complete this misquotation…
Audition for Tarzan?
I’ve nothing against his left leg; trouble is neither has he…
Boom 💥 🤣🤣🤣
« Many believe the regime is being run by a ‘Ghost Ayatollah’…”
Maybe the same one who ran the regime when Supreme Leader Biden was in a coma?
It’s a competition: to see if Iran can have more Supreme Leaders in the shortest time compared with the parade of recent British Prime Ministers.
And our current Supreme Leader isn’t likely to be in post for much longer.
What Teflon Keir?,…..you wish

Well done Toby. Trebles all round.
As “The Who” said – meet the new boss – same as the old boss !
There goes his career in stand-up.
His Jake the peg number will have to be scrapped. Life, ‘tis unfair…
Without an actual invasion, the only way to end the war against Iran in favour of what the attackers want is a successful coup/ insurrection. Otherwise, Israel and the USA can keep bombing Iran for as long as they’re willing to spend money on this without any meaningful change of the status quo there and that’s not because of fanatics refusing to recognize that they have been beaten but because the fanatics haven’t been beaten as nobody ever even tried.
Studies have been conducted regarding the opening of other fronts in which the enemy has little experience and will be severely vulnerable, and their activation will take place – should the state of war continue and in accordance with the considerations of expediency.
That’s pretty obviously not targetted at Gulf countries at all but refers to attacks on enemy civilians – that’s us – in their home countries, IOW, islamic terror attacks, as we would call them. But that’s a double edged sword for Iran because large scale terror attacks in the USA or Europe would certainly increase support for an invasion a lot.
Despite the “Stop Press”, there has recently been a report from the Beeb Persian service in which a local spokesperson read out a statement, and that he was still unconscious. Appointed as a “paper candidate”, in effect. No doubt the rest of the script has been written by a committee of some kind.
‘Appointed as a “paper candidate”’ no, cardboard, keep up! 🙃
Will Allah give his leg back in heaven so he can shag all those houris who can’t wait for sleepy cuddles?
Might not give him back a foot but should manage a couple of inches.
So Iran’s new supreme leader has lost his father, mother, wife, son, sister, niece & nephew, all in the last seven days. And now to add injury to insult he’s lost his leg. Not having a very good war is he?
😀😀😀
As long as he’s not lost his sense of humour, that’s the main thing.
Brilliant!
So what exactly are the values of the Islamic Revolution?
Death to everyone. Twunts!
Right. But they don’t like it up’em, do they?
There are so many conflicting reports that the saying comes to mind that the first casualty of war is the truth.
PSYOP alert, PSYOP alert …honk honk
President Trump told him to “hop it”. IRAN but not fast enough…Alan’s Snackbar
His leg has been martyred, it’s now the Ayatolleg of Jannah!
Iraq war. WMD. illegal war. Forever wars to maintain American hegemony. more than 160 young girls incinerated in a school on the first strike by American tomahawk missiles. Surprise attack launched in the middle of negotiations. War of aggression, illegal war. But let’s all have a laugh because it’s Iranians and like Russians they are to be considered the untermensch. Lots of commentators on here believing the official narrative/propaganda. We will all pay a price for this.
There is no such thing as an illegal war. The attack on Iran didn’t conform with the UN charta because it neither happened in self-defense nor was authorized by the UN security council. And even this is debatable because Israel will doubtlessly argue that it acted in self-defense.
IMHO, it’s best to avoid this muddy terminology: States go to war when they bloody well want to because there’s nobody who can stop them. It was originally envisioned that the UN security council would but since that’s permanently paralyzed because it always includes the USA, China and Russia, this never materialized.
