Darren Fletcher’s Son Given Heavy Ban at Man Utd Over ‘Gay Boy’ Slur

Manchester United’s Jack Fletcher, son of Champions League-winner Darren Fletcher, has been banned for six matches for calling an opponent a “gay boy” during a match. The Telegraph has more.

The 18 year-old has apologised for using homophobic language following the Football Association suspension.

Fletcher was shown a straight red card after using the term while playing for the club’s under-21s at Barnsley in the EFL Trophy last October. It is understood he was abused throughout the defeat by an older opponent who targeted the teenager’s family.

Darren Fletcher is currently with Manchester United Under-18s and served as caretaker head coach of the senior team before Michael Carrick took charge.

A charge on the FA’s website says Fletcher was alleged to have committed an “aggravated breach” of Rule E3.1, using “abusive and/or insulting words” which included a reference to “sexual orientation”.

Fletcher admitted to the charge before a disciplinary hearing last month. He was given a four-match suspension, having already served a two-game ban immediately after the red card. He has also been fined £1,500 and been ordered to attend a mandatory face-to-face education programme.

In a statement on United’s official website, Fletcher apologised for his use of the language.

“I am truly sorry for the offensive word that I used in the heat of the moment,” he said.

“Despite the fact that I had no intention to use the term as a homophobic insult, I completely understand that such language is unacceptable and immediately apologised after the game.

“I want to be clear that this momentary lapse of character absolutely does not reflect my beliefs or values.”

Never apologize, unless you are truly sorry, and this young footballer was just expressing anger (Freedom of Speech) after suffering sustained verbal abuse from the other one. This ban was too harsh.

And what’s all this about a “Face-to-Face Mandatory Education Programme”, as if he is some kind of criminal????!!! They have no right to demand such a thing of any athlete.

“Re-education Camps” is what the Communist Chinese called it, “Ritual Humiliation” is what the Satanists call it, “Target the Resisters” is what American Communists call it, “Mind Control Brainwashing” is its true name, an attempt to destroy Free Will.

We do not consent.

English Football has been completely captured by the woke establishment. It is one of the most prolific indoctrination machines at its dslisposal.

So it seems.
I have absolutely no interest in football.
But even as a disinterested onlooker I have noticed how much they push the woke ideology in football.
I suspect the governing elite is frightened of the raw emotional nature of sport and see it as the last bastion of politically incorrect, insurgent behaviour. After all it’s much easier to control corporate employees than a bunch of raucous football fans.

In the same way, when watching an African team in a World Cup match, for example, I don’t want to see a team full of Ethnic Orientals pretending to represent Africa. Nor a Pakistani team full of tall blond Swedish men pretending to be Pakistanis. Nor a French team full of North African Muslims. It’s ridiculous.

Only Eastern European teams seem brave enough to exclusively hire their own athletes, giving hope to the dreams of their own youngsters, and it’s refreshing to see their teams full of their own people, who play better because they can naturally bond better with teammates from their own Tribe. Tribalism is a natural survival mechanism, that helped mankind survive for thousands of years, by bonding with Tribal Loyalty, based on a shared Ethnic Ancestry.

And what the hell are ‘English faces’, ‘Heretic’? White faces I presume. So it’s ‘nauseating’ for you to see brown faces? I think of the ‘brown’ people I know, who were born in this country and are certainly English, British! Did you know some of these brown-skinned people are even members of Reform? I’m not saying that all of those in football teams were born here – I’ve always thought it crazy that a ‘Manchester’ football team could include people who have lived in France, Spain, whatever, for most of their life! But – you say – ‘no English faces’? Amazing what you YOU can tell about a player’s birth country from their photo! Not much love lost between us – I will always remember you calling me a ‘troll’ when I called you out on something before. A ‘troll’! When I had supported this site from the very beginning. Out-and-out racist remarks like yours give this site a bad name, and make me feel increasingly unwilling to recommend it to others (I always used to!). I think the moderator removed the comment to which you refer and I think I agree with that removal, I wouldn’t like to be the one to decide, though, or even if a decision is necessary at any time. I feel the same as you, but do still recommend DS, I make the first point to my acquaintances that yes anyone can comment but that we should not judge a man (nor an organisation) by those who may appear or profess to be speaking for him. And the second, that we may disagree with what a person says but that we defend the right for the them to say it. Fundamentals.

Thank you MAK, and well said, fundamentals…

“Presumption in favour of posting” is the rule, and a simple policy about what we’ll remove, which in this case was abusive and racist; not a difficult call, as it happens

To the Moderator: It was not “abusive and racist”! I was merely expressing my personal and honest opinion that I am repulsed by The Great Replacement.

I can only assume that there are no posters on here that aren’t white. It seems strange but it’s the natural conclusion to come to when you see the amount of racist comments posted on here regularly and nobody but myself, exclusively, says anything, and I’m white. Frankly, I’m amazed to see you’ve spoken out and made this observation, and I’m doubly amazed that the racist troll has had his post removed because I always thought he had protected status as far as the mods were concerned, and can sound off with his usual vitriol with impunity. So it’s hard to establish where the boundaries lie with what’s permitted ‘free speech’ and what isn’t in this place.
What’s funny is the amount of gaslighting and animosity I’ve experienced in the past ( and present ), and here you are, making the very same observations as myself. Because that’s all it takes to make a big difference to somebody: just one other person speaking up and acknowledging the same thing as them. It’s a shame you post only once in a blue moon.

“Birth country” means NOTHING. Your ethnic identity bears no relation at all to the geographical place on the planet where your mother happened to be when you popped out into the world. The British Isles are the ANCESTRAL HOMELAND of the founders of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, parts of South Africa, and descendants of the English, Welsh, Scots & Irish people all around the world. And yes, they are Ethnic Europeans = White People, also insulted as “Gammons” by Third World Ethnics in reference to skin colour and pigs, but no one has ever been arrested or banned or sacked for that.

STOP TRYING TO CONTROL THE CONVERSATION by making everyone bow down to your “hurty feelings”. May I remind you that this website was founded upon the principle of
FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND THOUGHT, upon which YOU ARE TRYING TO TRAMPLE, in order to drag us all back into the politically correct mode of thinking. Do you want us to wear facemasks again?

These people need to make their minds up.

If being gay is wonderful and fantastic and absolutely normal, then why is it an insult or a slur?

It should be no different to calling someone tall, or fair haired.

And calling someone who isn’t gay “gay, boy” should be no different to calling a short person “tall boy”.A bit strange bit not insulting. And if he is gay, then it is just a statement of fact that shouldn’t be offensive in any way.

To say that I loathe these people who behave like prefects in grown up society doesn’t begin to describe what I feel.

Anyone who thinks it’s an insult to call someone gay must think there’s something wrong with being gay. This means they’re the ones who are homophobic.

The same logic also applies to people who think “black”, “Paki” etc are horrific insults. They must think there’s something wrong with being black or a Paki and are therefore the racists.

I think the logic would be something like this: The intention is to suggest that the “gayboy” player is not manly, lacks courage, and that gay men are also like that. But yes it’s pathetic.

This might cheer you up: self.pdf I have just finished reading it (some old book my folks left me, 1961 edition). It is a bit opaque (to me) in places but stirring stuff and seems quite relevant to now. For anyone not wanting to follow the link it’s an essay on “Self-reliance” by Ralph Waldo Emerson, written I think around 1840ish. I need to read more older texts, my ability to follow non-modern English is pitiful.

Yes, it’s much better to use the correct English term “Sodomite”, because the innocent, cheerful English word “gay” was deliberately chosen in the 1940s, as today, to make Sodomy seem more normal and acceptable.

Etymology dictionary –“Gay (adjective)” : late 14th century, “full of joy, merry; light-hearted, carefree”

“From Old French gai “joyful, happy; pleasant, agreeably charming; forward, pert; light-coloured”

“The meaning “stately and beautiful; splendid and showily dressed” is from early 14th century.

Of things, “sumptuous, showy, rich, ornate,” mid-14th century.

Of colours, etc., “shining, glittering, gleaming, bright, vivid,” late 14th century.

Of persons, “dressed up, decked out in finery,” also late 14th century.”

“In the English of Yorkshire and Scotland formerly it could mean “moderately, rather, considerable”.”

Takes me back to my schooldays though not an insult that I remember being used often- I think it would have been considered a cheap shot and rather unimaginative.

I’m reminded of the “Five Go Mad…” episode that was a spaghetti western spoof. The tough guy character says to the others “I am staying at Hotel Bastardo, you are staying at Hotel Gayboy”. I wonder if they will leave that in the repeats.

The epithet “pussy” is common, particularly in certain communities. I guess that’s misgendering. I wonder if that would attract the same outrage.

Surely the Football Association must now be disciplined by UEFA for their homophobic assumption that the word “gay” is an insult.

For a fist full of roubles

I thought it would be a compliment in these woke times.

When I was his age, if this kind of punishment was in place there’d be no-one on the pitch.
He should not have apologized and most-likely only did so to save his place in the team. His teammates should have backed him and not stood for this nonsense.

The Football Association clutched it’s pearls back in 2015 and banned Fulham’s Ryan Tunnicliffe for two games and fined the midfielder £5,000 after a very hurtful tweet about Middlesborough’s  Patrick Bamford, labelling the poor lamb a “sausage boy”
Needless to say, Tunnicliffe had to attend an re education course.
