Why Has Carol Vorderman Become a Green Supporter?

“Come on, Hannah Spencer!” were the words of Carol Vorderman on Thursday evening. Posting on Instagram, the ex-Countdown presenter left no one in any doubt about her political views. “GREENS WIN GORTON AND DENTON 💚💚💚” she wrote shortly afterwards when Spencer beat Reform and Labour in the Gorton and Denton by-election.

To the outside observer, Vorderman’s support of the Green Party is rather confusing. Wasn’t this the woman who not-so-long-ago campaigned for the Labour Government? Never mind that Vorderman has previously been pictured with Matt Hancock and Boris Johnson, indicating former support for the Conservatives. She has had quite the ‘political journey’.

Dig deeper and it’s clear Vorderman is no solo activist, but part of coordinated efforts to get the Greens into power. As I have touched on before for the Daily Sceptic, Vorderman is in a tactical voting group titled ‘The Movement Forward’. Its other names have included ‘Forward Democracy Limited’ and ‘Swap My Vote’. The group also uses websites such as ‘StopReformUK.Vote‘ (formerly Stop the Tories), where it advised people in Gorton and Denton to vote Green.

Other members of The Movement Forward include Femi Oluwole (the pro-EU campaigner), Jemma Forte and Marina Purkiss (media ‘personalities’ and podcasters who are also pro-EU) and Liz Webster (who is also pro-EU), as well as people who are generally quite annoying on social media (India Willoughby, Emma Kennedy, Tan Smith – known as ‘Supertanskiii’).

In accordance with The Movement Forward’s position of backing the Greens in Gorton and Denton, Femi Oluwole recently announced he would be supporting the Greens on Zack Polanski’s podcast Bold Politics, and other members of The Movement Forward were jubilant about yesterday’s by-election result:

To add, although the Movement Forward backed the Greens this time, it’s not wedded to the party:

It ultimately wants Proportional Representation, and backs an agenda rather than being party political. I suspect it would be happy with a ‘progressive’ alliance of candidates – across the Left-wing parties – who pushed the causes it cares about.

The Movement Forward is also very against Reform, which I believe could heavily tie back to Reform being an evolution of the Brexit Party (and the Greens being more in favour of the EU and open borders). As I mentioned earlier, several members of The Movement Forward are supporters of the European Union. Femi Oluwole was once funded by pro-EU Best for Britain (which has received millions from George Soros) and Liz Webster works for Save British Food, which has “teamed up with” The European Movement (another outfit that has received funding from Soros). Vorderman has a pattern of working with and promoting Best for Britain. In my view, the Greens and Reform – and those who support them – should be seen through the prism of ‘EU wars’.

Either way, it’s a real tangled web behind these tactical groups.

She’s being the equivalent of a middle aged bloke who suddenly decides he wants to buy a sports car and be the young buck. Look at all the work she’s had done to her face and body, and now she’s trying to be what she probably thinks of as edgy.

I was intending to make some critical comment about Vorders but DG246’s trumps anything I’d have added !

Thank you – I must admit I posted with some trepidation thinking I was going to be accused of misogyny (despite being a woman myself) but gratifyingly only upticks, so far anyway!

Carol – personality free zone. Never understood why she was all over the Telly. The home decorating prog she did was dreadful as her lack of charisma was all over it. Never came across as a genuine person nor as someone capable of relating to the people whose homes were done over. Plastic. Just my opinions of course.

Is the answer due to the fact that she’s had too much anaesthetic and it’s affected her brain?

Maybe she’s hoping to get a free session with jugs whisperer Zachary.

Can you imagine what will be arranged in the break-out sessions at Green Conferences. Jug enlargement by whispering, sandal repair workshops and keffey tying lessons.

Sheep will be hallaled and roasted for one half of the audience but the other side of a screen lettuces will be served.

There will be a prayer room but only available to a certain sect.

Likely the Iranian and Pakistanian ambassadors will attend and RT will broadcast live.

Was she one of his success stories? PS It was her brain that attracted me to her, and now she has lost that there is nothing left.

The answer might be gratitude for Polanski increasing the size of her boobs through psychoanalysis. Just a thought.

There is a theme going on with replies this morning. I imagine that she like most celebs are economically, and geographically a distance from reality. Hence you can flutter like a butterfly between radically different ideologies at will, and not feel like you look a vacuous ninny.

There seems to be a well funded and well organised campaign to turn this country into a combination of North Korea and Iran. The moderate right (Tories and Reform) need to get their act together to counter this takeover of our sovereignty by malicious actors.

It is not Vorderman’s opinions that matter it is the array of tactical voting mechanisms in which she and others are involved.

I must admit to being saddened by how much political campaigning is against something people don’t want, rather than for something they do want. This was epitomised by the Remain campaign for the Brexit referendum, which seemed to focus solely on the disadvantages of leaving the EU and did precious little to sell the benefits of being a member state.

The benefits of EU membership are dubious and the thing most worth having – access to the Single Market – is available without EU membership which is why the Remainers had to lie and say that it wasn’t. The problem for the ‘against campaigners’ is that what they actually want people will not vote directly for.

Vorderman is a good example that having been well educated does not stop you from being stupid.

And that the ability to do mental arithmetic quickly is nothing more than a party trick, revealing of a person’s love for process and rules, above all.

She can’t think, though.

Well it’s interesting.. It’s presumably owing to her supposed maths genius that she’s interested in voting tactically for specific different parties in different areas, depending on the relative numbers of party supporters in a given region. But having the ability to work the numbers doesn’t stop you from being naively and unmovably fixated on an ideology that is destructive at best, evil at worst.

She has clearly decided that’s where the cool cats are and is rich enough not to be overly inconvenienced by social collapse and economic meltdown that will be the inevitable result of green party policies if enacted.

Interesting to read that one group are campaigning for proportional representation as well – that’ll really help Reform… or don’t they want it to apply to them?

Here in Wales, we’ll get to see what an alternative voting system will do for the body politic when we have our Senedd elections. Okay, it’s not PR, but it’s not FPTP either.

The problem with Lefties is that they believe Leftist propaganda. They really do think that Brexit damaged the economy. They really do believe that Diversity is a strength.

Perhaps a sensible precondition for having a vote would be to have a test of basic economic competence.

Sort of sad that anyone is concerned with a game show host’s thoughts or behaviour. When I think of all the outstanding people in the UK to write about, carol’s name never pops up. Katherine Birbalsingh, CBE,is one among thousands of dynamic people in the UK. There are well known small business owners in each town, butchers such as Philip Warren, Cornwall, Andrew Fremantle, pork producer, Devon. Dozens and dozens of intelligent people and yet for some odd reason, here is another article about a game show host. Perhaps the daily sceptic will consider to choose one local, hero each week, to write about.

We would love to read more success stories, rather than read about game show hosts, political failures etc. thanks.

I wasn’t aware Vorderman hosted a game show. I only ever saw her as the woman who was brilliant at mental arithmetic, with the late lamented Richard Whiteley as the host.

She used to be the love interest of the late Sir Clive Sinclair; perhaps that’s where she got her maths skills from? I know she is/was a member of MENSA, but that only proves she was good at puzzles.

I never thought there were so many stupid people in the country. But right enough they all voted Labour didn’t they? Yet even now after the diabolical clutter Labour have caused stupid people seem to double down on their stupidity by supporting even harder dumb leftist crap. —–We are going to get the country we deserve, with Migrants swarming everywhere, energy prices treble everyone else’s, women with penis’s, every drug available down at he Spar Shop, shoplifters given a trolley so they don’t hurt their back and sectarian clutter on every street where every flag but the Union Jack will be acceptable.
