Iran Attacks Dubai With Hundreds of Suicide Drones and Missiles
Iran has fired scores of missiles and drones towards Dubai and other Gulf cities in a dramatic escalation of fighting across the Middle East after the assassination of its Supreme Leader. The Mailhas the update.
Smoke was rising from Dubai International Airport this morning and blasts heard in a number of regional states, with Iran vowing to unleash its “most intense offensive operation in history”.
Tehran is launching revenge strikes after confirming Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had been killed by joint US-Israeli strikes, along with four of his family members and at least two high level military leaders.
Yesterday, Iranian suicide drones hit landmark hotels the Burj Al Arab and Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, sparking panic among tourists.
It comes as…
Israel and the USA launched joint airstrikes on targets in Iran
Iran confirmed the death of its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
Trump and Netanyahu urged Iranians to rise up and overthrow the Government
Iran launched retaliatory strikes at states across the Middle East, particularly US military bases
Trump warned the US would respond powerfully to further bombardment and that the operation could last weeks
Explosions were again this morning echoing across the city, which has become a haven for wealthy British expats, as it suffers renewed attacks.
Blasts have also been heard for a second day in Qatar, Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq, and in Oman for the first time, though most missiles and drones have been downed by air defences.
Iran also launched two missiles towards Cyprus, which hosts British military bases, Defence Secretary John Healey revealed this morning.
Iran claims to have struck 27 US bases in the region after announcing that would be its main target, but has also hit other sites – including residential buildings.
Multiple blasts were heard in Dubai early on Sunday morning, with large plumes of black smoke rising into the sky over the airport and all planes grounded.
The Dubai Media Office confirmed that debris from drones intercepted by air defences had fallen onto two homes in the city, injuring two people, and it also sparked a fire at the major Jebel Ali port. …
A fire broke out at the iconic sail-shaped Burj Al Arab hotel after debris smashed into it.
The UAE’s Ministry of Defence said that, as of late last night, 137 ballistic missiles had been launched by Iran towards the Emirates, of which 132 had been destroyed by air defences and five fell into the Persian Gulf. …
It said it had also been targeted by 209 suicide drones of which 195 were intercepted and 14 got through – with some hitting the territory.
The Crowne Plaza hotel in Bahrain was also smoldering this morning, with its owners reporting it had suffered an “incident”, but that all guests and staff were safe.
It came as Bahrain’s air defenses responded overnight to “hostile Iranian missile attacks”, intercepting at least 45 missiles and nine drones, state media reported Sunday. …
Khamenei, 86, was killed in the airstrike after Israeli jets dropped 30 bombs on the Supreme Leader’s compound. …
As well as Khamenei’s four family members, two high-level military leaders – Rear Adm. Ali Shamkhani, and commander of the IRGC Maj. Gen. Mohammad Pakpour – were also obliterated in the strikes on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, Israel announced it had also carried out a fresh wave of strikes on Iran and struck the “heart” of the capital. …
Iranian state media announced there would be a 40-day mourning period after Khamenei’s death, as the regime scrambles to kickstart the process of finding a new leader.

Update: The former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has also been killed by Israeli and US airstrikes, according to the Mail.
Update 2: According to Trump, US forces have killed 48 Iranian leaders and sunk nine naval vessels, says the Mail.

Due to demographic changes in certain countries I think it means that none of these countries will escape unscathed. we can thank politicians and the luvvies for that!

Good to know that the majority-Muslim citizens of all these states will now have a (very small) inkling of what it has been like for the Israelis for the past few DECADES living under the constant fear, and actual experience, of dozens of missiles raining down on them from both Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Thank goodness Islam is the Religion of Peace – imagine what it would have been like if it was a warlike religion.
We stand firmly with the brave Ukrainian people and will lend all the support necessary to repel this brutal and unprovoked aggression and violation of sovereign territory.
Oh, sorry oops, wrong war.
We stand firmly with the US in its attempt to bring freedom, peace and prosperity to the Iranian people with their provoked and fully justified attack on Iran.
I fully concur with Alex Armstrong; ”Fascinating seeing so many “right wingers” who supposedly hate Islamism and terrorists all of a sudden be so anti removing them. These people are advocating for islamists to get nuclear weapons and hold the world at the edge of a knife. They’re happy to see Islamist mullahs threaten our country and our people, watch on as they slaughter tens of thousands of people and fund terrorists across the world that take aim at our values and way of life. Well done, you’ve successfully become left wing without even realising it. Many are saying “this isn’t our war”, “Britain should come first”. I understand and sympathise with you. But ask yourself how it’s going for Germany or Sweden who practically stayed out of previous wars? How many terrorist attacks? Islamists hate our way of life, they see us as all the same. They don’t care if our govt supported wars or not. We either come together and try to eliminate the biggest funder of Islamism and terrorism in the world or sit back and watch it happen anyway.” Top comment; ”Alex, you are one of very few who understand. Shameful to see many voices on… Read more »
Mogwai, you’re falling for exactly the same schtuck that captured so many (including 20 year old me) with Iraq 2 and Saddam and WMD and all that… No-one is saying they think the ayatollah was a lovely chap, nor that terrorism of any colour isn’t anything other than awful, but we are saying that marching around the world bombing the crap out of other countries who have not attacked us is a kind of stupid thing to be doing.
And it doesn’t make us left wing, nor does it make us Jew Haters, FFS.
Well, they might not have driven tanks onto our soil, but the UK and the West have been greatly affected by terrorism sponsored by Iran. From its programmes of anti-westernism and terrorism via Hammas, Houthi, Muslim Brotherhood and IIRC the Iraniian regime has been a considerable menace.
I consider myself ‘vaguely’ on the right, and I agree with the strikes wholeheartedly. They are not anti-muslim, but very specifically targeted against the head of the snake. Look at the response by Arab nations. Just like they wouldn’t allow refugees from Gaza in their countries, they know the score.
How have we been affected by this Iranian sponsored terrorism exactly? I’m all for doing what is needed to look after our own interests and am not much of a fan of the Iranian regime based on what I know. But I think there should be a pretty high bar to justify the kind of action that is being taken, and it looks like a stretch to me.
FWIW I have nothing in particular against Israel either, and am inclined to support its continued existence.
In answer to your question, we have been affected because Iran backed Al-Queda, whose terrorists carried out the 7/7 bomb attacks on London Transport in 2005, killing 52 people and injuring over 800.
All the media now focus on sympathy for Muslims in Britain affected by the natural revulsion of the British People after these attacks. It’s always the same, predators claiming to be victims. Or as one commenter said,
“Muslims have two basic modes: Whine & Snarl”.
IMHO, ‘setting a high bar’ is why we have ended up allowing this progressive corrosive influence into our society. We have been criminally complacent, making excuses after excuses for not defending and protecting our own, but deferring any action because…whatever. If someone broken into your home, would you chase them out before or after they have made themselves a meal, rearranged the furniture and taken your wallet.? At what point would you say, this is not to my advantage and it stops here. Appeasement is for fools.
Not sure what you’re referring to.
I’m all for defending our country and culture, just can’t immediately see where bombing Iran and trying to engineer regime change there contributes to that.
Iran also tried to cover up its backing for, and shelter of, Al-Queda Muslim Terrorists, such as the Al-Queda Muslim Terrorists who carried out the 2005 London 7/7 bomb attacks on London Transport, in which 52 people were killed and over 800 injured.
Irradicate the religious ideology of over 2 billion people?
Change the regime of every single nation that calls itself Islamic so that there are no more countries with Islam as the state religion?
Where did I mention ”Jew Haters”, FFS? Who’s ”marching around the world bombing the crap out of other countries”? We’re on the topic of the Islamic Republic in Iran here, don’t deflect, and if you can’t understand the rationale for why these evil bastards and all that they’re responsible for, both directly and indirectly, need neutralized then I can’t help you. Thank the universe for sane people like Tommy and many others who get it;
”If you cant decide what side you are on, whether you’re on the side of freedom and security, or whether your on the side of the Islamic regime of Iran, or whether you’re a soy infused idiot… Just move aside. Let those with testicular fortitude take the lead on this. Because lead you cannot. No apologies, no wavering, no capitulation, no cowardice. Be on the right side of history. End the Islamic regime of Iran and all of its proxies.
When some people in England recoil at the thought of bombing the IRGC and the mad Mullahs in Iran I would just like to remind them…. When they call for the death of England…… I say give them death.”
Am I alone in being concerned that Iran’s uranium stockpile includes uranium enriched far beyond the level needed for most non-military uses like nuclear power or medical applications?
The IAEA said in May that Iran is now “the only non-nuclear-weapon State to produce such nuclear material.”
That, together with an ICBM program close to achieving missiles capable of reaching this country, not far off having ICBMs capable of reaching the U.S., very much offers a credible ‘casus belli’.
International law barely exists in any universally accepted sense. In the real world, it is of limited if any utility when the survival of a sovereign state is in question.
According to Samuel Johnson, it used to be that Patriotism was considered the last refuge of a scoundrel. Now its International Law. Its the ultimate ‘wait till Dad gets home’.
International law is a term invented by lawyers to hobble those who would obey and entitle those who would not and in the process enrich themselves by adjudicating the inevitable conflict

On a lighter note and without being frivolous, I have to admit to a little schadenfreude when thinking of all those self proclaimed influencers, entrepreneurs and others who have been lecturing the rest of us about how smart they are to have baled out from the UK and moved to enjoy the legion benefits of Dubai, UAE, Qatar etc and who are now demanding that the UK government bale them out in reverse
Good point! Including Isabel Oakeshott, who also moved to Dubai, after dragging her kids out of their schools and away from the beautiful English countryside, away to a life lived indoors in scorching desert heat, going from air-conditioned vehicles to air-conditioned skyscraper homes to air-conditioned foreign schools to air-conditioned shopping malls to air-conditioned offices, surrounded by Muslims. What a stifling place to raise kids!
She gets a lot of credit in my book for being an early covid sceptic and stitching up that tosser Hancock. I didn’t know she’d gone to Dubai. Odd choice. I love England, with all its faults. I dare say I could live happily in other places too – parts of Europe and the US, parts of South America. Everywhere has pros and cons. But Dubai would be close to the bottom of my list.
Well said, DH, and certainly not “frivolous”. Please allow me a footnote:
”Reform UK Deputy Leader and MP Richard Tice is splitting his time between his UK constituency and Dubai, where his partner, journalist Isabel Oakeshott (already mentioned by a fellow-commenter) moved with their children.”

Brilliant idea from whoever is left in charge after the leaders were erased with a precision strike to attack all your neighbours and align them against you.
Spot on. Masoud Pezeshkian is the new Plank-in-Charge, “guided” by the head of the Judiciary, to make sure the Kritocracy = Rule by Judges can overrule all other branches of government. To paraphrase a quote:
“If a tree falls in a forest and no Judge is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”
“If a man makes a decision in a forest, and no woman is around to question it, does it make a sound?”

Well, the Iranians whose friends and relatives were tortured and slaughtered in their thousands by Khamenei during his nearly 40 years as Unelected Dictator are celebrating:
“Jubilant crowds erupted across Iran late on Saturday, tearing down statues of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and dancing in the streets.”
“In Tehran, eyewitnesses reported residents cheering from rooftops, blowing whistles, and letting out ululations despite a near-total internet blackout and Basij militia patrols. Fireworks exploded over neighbourhoods, Persian dance music blared, and “freedom, freedom” chants echoed from balconies. Some shouted: “The devil is dead, thank you US and Israel for standing on the right side of history.”
Or it could be just part of the Globalist plan to start WW3 using the same playbook as WW2: Hitler attacking 20 foreign countries which had not attacked Germany, in order to provoke them all into war. As many historians have pointed out, Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbour made no sense at all, but was deliberately arranged by the Globalists to force the US into WW2.
Will they soon try to drag the South Americans into it, and Africa, India, China and everywhere else on the planet, as part of their Depopulation 2030 Agenda?

Sorry, are you suggesting that the regime in Iran needs to be deposed in order to for the UK not to become an Islamic country? Is that the argument?
Become? It is.

Iran is attacking Countries in the region who have not attacked them.
Is it your argument we should wait for the bombs to start falling, then oops!
Nothing like shining a bit of light on one’s cognitive dissonance to bring out their stupidity.
Stop thinking, it’s unhealthy.
Er, no… we sit firmly on the fence pondering “International Law”, something…

Iran Regime is attacking Countries which are not part of the attack by US and Israel on it.
It has also just attacked a French naval base in the region – France is playing no part in the operation.
