Trump Targets Iran’s Supreme Leader in First Wave of Joint Attack with Israel

Donald Trump has targeted Iran’s Supreme Leader in America’s first wave of joint attacks with Israel, as Tehran launched a retaliatory attack on the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and bases across the region. The Mail has more.

Trump declared he will “raze their missile industry to the ground” as he warned troops in Iran to lay down their arms or face “certain death”.

The first apparent strike, which follows weeks of knife-edge tensions building up between the two countries, happened near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday morning.

It is understood that at least five cities have been targeted in Iran, with counter-strikes reported in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and the UAE.

President Trump said in a video on Truth Social that the United States had begun “major combat operations” in Iran with thick black smoke seen rising into the sky.

You can follow all the latest developments on the Daily Mail’s live blog. The BBC’s live blog is here, while the Telegraph’s is here and the Times’s is here.

So far, the headlines are that America and Israel lunched missile attacks on Tehran and other major Iranian cities, and Iran has retaliated by firing missiles at it’s US-allied neighbours in the Gulf, hitting the US Navy’s 5th fleet headquarters in Bahrain, one of four US bases Iran claims to have hit. British and US residents in those areas have been advised to shelter in place. The Foreign Office said British nationals in Dubai should “immediately shelter in place”, urging them to “remain indoors in a secure location, avoid all travel and follow instructions from the local authorities”.

Iran claims an Israeli missile landed on a girls’ elementary school in Minab, southern Iran, killing 40 and injuring 48.

Airspace over Iran has been closed and airport closures have also been reported in Oman and Syria. Qatar Airways confirmed suspension of its flights to and from Doha, Qatar’s capital, saying the “safety of our passengers and employees is always our highest priority”. Air India said it had cancelled all flights to destinations in the Middle East and urged customers to contact its call centre for updates.

Trump has urged the Iranian people to embrace their “hour of freedom” and rise up against the ayatollahs and Con Coughlin in the Telegraph reckons the theocratic Iranian dictatorship could come toppling down within days.

More news as it happens.

Update: Keir Starmer has urged against further escalation in the Middle East after the UK did not participate in US-Israeli strikes on Iran. From the Mail:

The Prime Minister said that British planes are “in the sky today” to “protect our people, our interests and our allies” after waves of missile attacks in countries across the region.

Speaking in Downing Street today, the Prime Minister hit out at Iran’s “abhorrent” regime, saying they must never be allowed to attain a nuclear weapon.

“Earlier this morning the US and Israel struck targets in Iran,” Sir Keir said.

“Iran has since launched indiscriminate strikes across the region and communities across our country will be deeply concerned about what this mean for security and stability and for the fate of innocent people across the region, which for so many of us includes friends and family members.”

He continued: “The United Kingdom played no role in these strikes, but we have long been clear the regime in Iran is utterly abhorrent.

“They have murdered thousands of their own people, brutally crushed dissent and sought to destabilise the region. Even in the United Kingdom, the Iranian regime poses a direct threat to dissidents and to the Jewish community.”

The PM added: “I condemn Iran’s attacks today on partners across the region, many of which are not parties to this conflict. We extend our support and solidarity to them as part of our commitments to the security of our allies in the Middle East. We have a range of defensive capabilities in the region, which we’ve recently strengthened.

“Our forces are active and British planes are in the sky today as part of coordinated regional defensive operations to protect our people, our interests and our allies.

“As Britain has done before, in line with international law, we’ve stepped up protections for British bases and personnel to their highest level. We are also reaching out to UK nationals in the region and doing everything we can to support them.”

Update 2: There are “growing indications” that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the first wave of the US and Israeli strikes earlier today, it is being claimed. From the Mail:

Israeli media outlet Channel 12 said unnamed Israeli sources had revealed there were “growing indications” the leader had been killed during this morning’s air strikes or that he was “hurt at the very least”.

Officials had earlier reported that the strikes had caused “very significant harm” to the leadership of the Iranian regime and its military commanders.

Khamenei has not been heard from since the US and Israel launched their dual attack on Iran on Saturday morning.

Israeli sources said today that President Donald Trump specifically targeted Iran’s Supreme Leader in its first wave of joint missile strikes with Israel.

The initial blasts are believed to have taken place close to the offices of Khamenei in the capital, Tehran.

The results of the strikes are unclear, an Israeli official said, with earlier reports suggesting that the supreme leader had been moved out of Tehran to a secure location.

Both Khamenei’s palace and compound in Tehran are reported to have been completely destroyed in today’s operation.

Several destroyed buildings can be seen at the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s compound in Tehran

Update 3: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been killed by Israeli and US strikes, according to the Mail.

Reports have said that Netanyahu has been shown an image of the body of the Supreme Leader after it was found in rubble by Iranian authorities in Tehran, while Israel’s Ambassador to the US Yechiel Leither confirmed the killing of Khameini to American officials, according to multiple sources cited by the Times of Israel.

Britain’s servicemen under attack in Bahrain.

What are we doing to defend them?

Nothing!

What can we do to defend them?

Nothing!

Pathetic. British lives, the best of British lives, at risk as a direct consequence of this country’s unilateral disarmament over the last 35 years.

Criminal negligence on the part of successive governments of all major parties.

The consequence: war once more on Continental Europe and now British citizens defenceless under fire overseas.

What an utter disgrace!

I thought it was the job of our servicemen to defend us, not the other way round. However they need to be given the tools to do their job and successive goverments have continually failed to do that.

British armed forces are subject to strict rules of engagement. No instructions have been given vis a vis air attack from Iran. No equipment has been issued to enable British forces in Bahrain to defend themselves against missile attack from Iran. Shameful!

New World Order.
Or is it the Jew World Order.
Trump tweeted in 2019 to stay out of the ME and for the US to stop starting wars.
In related news Epstein committed ‘suicide’.

Exactly how many countries has the US/neocons attempted to democratise since the end of WW 2.
And how many had The Bomb.
Ergo…

I am more worried about Pakistan having nuclear weapons. The Religion of Peace epithet doesn’t ring very true given their relations with their neighbours over the years.

Don’t worry – Starmer has held a meeting of COBRA so everything is in hand and in order.

Where “international law” was no doubt very high on the agenda if Keith was chairing the meeting.

I had hope, but also serious reservations about Trump. But I mainly needed hope. That hope is long gone – he’s up to his neck in this global agenda. You’ve got to give it to him, he played his hand remarkably well.

Is he dead yet? I think he must be, but we’ve been here before because he’s like a Hollywood villain or the bad terminator in Terminator 2 who just will not go down and stay down.
Meanwhile, can somebody get a 500mg IV bolus of Copium to Caitlin Johnstone, STAT!

”Fuck the US. Fuck Israel. Fuck Trump. Fuck Netanyahu. Fuck Zionism. Fuck Trump supporters. Fuck the Republican Party. Fuck the Democratic Party. Fuck war. Fuck everyone who helped make this war possible. Fuck the western press. Fuck warmongering think tanks. Fuck the Israel lobby. Fuck the military-industrial complex. Fuck the western intelligence cartel. Fuck the western empire.

I hate everyone who inflicted this nightmare upon my species. If you stand by this senseless US-Israeli act of depravity, then I consider you an enemy. And I will never stop reminding everyone of the psychotic agenda you supported. You own this. This is on you. It’s on you forever.”

I wonder if she said anything about the purported mass killings of the Iranian protestors? Unlikely…

What about the Christians in Africa getting beheaded? Doubtful.

Stupid twats like her will say all this, but then still live in leafy suburbia with her nice car and post on twitter with an iPhone. Maybe she should trade it in and go live in Mogadishu, far from Western Culture. Paradise for her I’m guessing.

“Remember Amalek”: CNN Says Timing of Iran Attack “Bears Symbolic Meaning in Judaism” It coincides with Purim, which begins on Monday night and ends on Tuesday night. “Amalek has been used as a term to describe various threats to the Jewish people and Israel over the centuries, including Hitler and the Nazis. In recent years the term has been applied to the Iranians, who are also said to pose an existential threat to Israel.” “Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu viewed Iran as Amalek as far back as 2009, when the country’s nuclear capacity was already a growing concern,” writes Benyamin Cohen.” Israel-US strikes on Iran: What time did the first attack hit and how the opening offensive unfolded “The first kinetic strikes hit their targets around 10:00 AM Tehran time on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The morning zero-hour was a calculated move designed specifically to catch Iranian air defense operators completely off guard, as Tehran reportedly did not anticipate a daytime assault.” “This is not a single, isolated surgical strike. Security sources speaking to Israeli media confirmed that the US and Israel are going “all out,” with the initial, most aggressive phase of the joint offensive planned to last for at least FOUR… Read more »

Strangely, I had a vivid dream several years ago, in which I was hovering in the sky above a map of the Middle East, and saw a huge missile launched from the far northwest corner of Iran, aimed at Jerusalem. Just before it reached Jerusalem, it suddenly veered north, headed toward Damascus. I woke up before I could see what happened.

So, now Iran faces civil war, as the Revolutionary Guards either try to run amok at home, and fight the rest of the population (who are mostly unarmed), or else decide to get out of the country, and perhaps continue their jihad elsewhere. Where will they go? I give you one (not even three) guesses. The regime has already demonstrated that it does not give a fig for international borders and sovereignty – and Europe’s pathetic attempts to control ‘irregular’ immigrants, and especially that execrably futile “stop the boats” fiasco, tells us exactly where many of those Revolutionary Guards will be heading. Whoever claims to be ‘in charge’ here absolutely must, NOW, remove the resident, and block the invading, Irregulars who traipse across our borders, with the obscenely benevolent assistance of a self-blindfolded Parliament. If this argument offends those concerned with ‘human rights’, just remember that we who live here are also humans, and we too have ‘rights’, rights that we have paid for, for our entire lives, and that are superior to those who are here unlawfully. The predictable response of our home-grown Quislings will f course be “Oh, but we can’t do that!”, or perhaps, “But we don’t… Read more »
