Let Boys Experiment and Wear Dresses in School, Says Education Secretary
Boys should be allowed to experiment and wear dresses at primary school, the Education Secretary, Bridget Phillipson, has said. The Telegraph has the story.
The Education Secretary urged schools not to “come down too hard” on children who believe they may be transgender.
Guidance published by Phillipson earlier this month allows primary school pupils to change their gender at school as long as teachers consult parents.
The advice states that before allowing a child to transition socially, schools must consider any clinical advice the family has received, and speak to the parents or guardians unless there is a genuine safeguarding reason not to.
On Tuesday, Phillipson was asked during a phone-in with LBC’s Nick Ferrari about the new guidance and how “broad” the role of school staff had now become.
She replied: “I agree with that. I want teachers to focus on what matters most, which is raising standards, supporting children and delivering a brilliant education. I think Jo [the caller] was asking about guidance that was around gender-questioning children.”
Asked by Ferrari whether she was comfortable with a five year-old boy wanting to be referred to by a girl’s name, Phillipson responded: “We’ve been clear that in primary schools, we need to tread with a lot of care.”
Told that she had avoided the question, she said: “This was usually where it involves a parent’s decision to support their child in that way.”
Phillipson was then asked whether someone aged five could know if they wanted to be a man or a woman.
She replied: “This was part of what, actually, Hilary Cass said in her review, that in allowing children just to consider who they are, to behave in ways that might not be aligned with their sex, their gender. … If a boy wants to wear dresses, we should just, if we allow that to work. …
“Children will experiment at different points, they will consider who they are. But just taking a watchful approach, not coming down too hard on that, actually reduces what we see in terms of children moving towards a more medicalised model.
“I’ve been clear that anything in that space, unless there are very strong safeguarding reasons where a child is at risk of harm, parents should be involved in those important decisions.”
Under the plans announced by Phillipson, pupils will have their preferred pronouns respected in the classroom, although children aged eight and above will have to use facilities in line with their biological sex. Final guidance on gender in schools will not be published until Sept 2026.

leftie who wants to put people in boxes as to how they should behave based on their sex. I maintain that there are two sexes and that cannot be changed, gender is meaningless, but actually I’m the one who doesn’t care whether people behave in a way that I or anyone else thinks doesn’t match their sex. Loath though I am to give Phillipson the benefit of the doubt, I think she meant they are behaving in ways that don’t align with their sex, but do align with their ‘gender’. Obviously still a load of old cobblers though, as you say.
Socialists aren’t caring. They are people who foster, exploit and weaponose human frailty to gain power and influence.
Problems with kids start as problems with the parents.
Instead, could Starmer announce att Cabinet that henceforth (that means, in the future – keep up Rachel) Ministers will be alklowed to experiment with common sense and policies that help the British people. Who knows – it might catch on.

I would say Ms Phillipson is producing a textbook example of verbal diarrhoea and getting herself into quite a mess. Either she is very stupid or she thinks her audience is; most unimpressive.
I strongly suspect that it is the former. Every time she opens her mouth, she confirms that she is either illiterate or thick as the proverbial two short planks (or, more usually, both). What have the poor British people done to deserve such a half-wit as their Educashun Secretary ?? (Answer : they have elected a Labour government).

Robbing kids of a structure and clear boundaries is just incredibly harmful.

The specific issue of dresses for boys aside (which is of course demented in and of itself), these people don’t realise how much harm they are doing with their unhinged relativistic ideology.
It’s just so disheartening that much of people’s lives are in the hands of these imbeciles.

So, we’ll have a class of 30 or so 6 year olds and on Thursday young Charlie pitches up in a frock. He’s now to be known as Charlene and will be using the girls loo. Are they really expecting the other 29 kids to play along with this? My guess is the poor teacher’s gonna have their hands full.
If little Charlie pitches up in a dress, I wonder if the other kiddies will get a lecture and be “cancelled” by the Virtue Police if they call him a Proper Charlie?

Labour 25 (+54 at last count) springs to mind…makes one wonder at the perversion and abuse being slipped into our schools by those in support of the WHO and UNESCO endorsed curriculum…problem we have is that most are unaware of the influences of Kinsey et al so think they’re very forward and progressive the others are terrified of speaking out in case they get a visit from social services…

Worth noting that “gender” does not exist. It’s a personal fantasy. We all have them, but only “gender” is forced upon us.
