Green Party Candidate Branded “Property-Hoarding Hypocrite” With £1.2 Million Real Estate Portfolio and Tips on Intimidating Buyers
The Green candidate in next week’s crucial Gorton and Denton by-election has been branded a “property-hoarding hypocrite” after details emerged of her ruthless dealings in the housing market. The Mail on Sunday has the story.
Party leader Zack Polanski has vowed to abolish all private landlords, tax the rich and bring in aggressive rent controls.
But his candidate, Hannah Spencer, 34, has amassed a £1.2 million property empire – and offered tips on how to rip off first-time homeowners, flip properties and intimidate buyers.
She has boasted on mumsnet, urging sellers to avoid first-time buyers because they are usually “gifted money from a family member… who make sure they’re getting a good deal”.
Ms Spencer, the Greens’ candidate for Manchester mayor in 2024, has criticised second homeowners for “hoarding” properties and accused struggling landlords of pulling a “woe is me act”. But Ms Spencer appears to be one of those second homeowners herself.
After her mother helped her buy her first home at 24, she has owned several properties – including a £736,000 second home apparently bought in August 2024.
She advises others how to squeeze more cash out of people. In one case where her buyers knew they were paying too much, she threatened them with selling to another buyer until they “found” the money.
She even refers to those who hike offers in increments as “stingy and more likely to haggle”.
In another extraordinary post, she admits discriminating against those who need to borrow more to meet her asking price. “The banks are getting warier by the day”, she said, adding she “wouldn’t accept an offer from anyone” needing to borrow more “unless I absolutely had to”.
And she endorses second homes “as an investment”, also against Green policy. …
A Labour source added: “She is a millionaire property-hoarding hypocrite.” …
Gorton and Denton will be her family’s 19th election, including her mother’s bid for Parliament.
In a Facebook post on Thursday’s by-election, Mr Polanski said: “This is what politics should feel like: thoughtful, honest and shaking things up.”
Well, on that theme, I don’t know how many read this the other day: we know they want to legalize class A drugs such as heroin, but on that list of drugs is GHB, the date rape drug. I mean, can you imagine. As if there’s not enough sex crimes being committed to deal with, sexual predators can get their rocks off even easier if this beyond insane policy ever came to fruition. But if that wasn’t bad enough, the Polanski nutcase wants to teach primary school kids about taking drugs safely, apparently;

The policy adds that children ‘starting in primary school’ should be taught how to take drugs safely in Personal, Social and Health Education (PHSE) lessons to ‘enhance the safety of all who use drugs’.”
It will be interesting on Thursday, especially the turnout which might be the crucial factor. Gorton & Denton is a new creation of two completely different cultural areas. The larger area has a large muslim population and lots of students which if they vote the same way should win but of course they could split between Labour and Green. The other is white majority traditional Labour voters that now have no time for Labour and will vote Reform, and are far more likely to actually vote.
Well, her organisation has successfully changed the definition of “green” within the last century or so. It used to mean that someone was something like “of tender age, immature, inexperienced” (https://www.etymonline.com/word/green).
Perhaps they are reverting to it, a cynic might say! It might be valid for the Green Party. Once they acquire any real work to do, they will have to grow up.
If you are RED why not just call yourself RED. There is no need to go and pretend you are not RED by re-branding yourself as GREEN. But that is what the GREENS have done, because they know that no one will vote for COMMUNISTS since it gets such a bad press, and is a failed ideology.
I understand that she’s not a plumber but works on the admin side of a ‘clean’ energy installation company.
Also, her husband is a senior research chemist at AZ. Not quite the proletarian we’re led to believe.

Having integrity and living by the policies that you support is so passè now. It’s all tribal allegiances and what policy and alliances are most likely to fill our elected leaders and bureaucrat’s pocket with gold.
