Facts Flee as the EU Prepares to Clamp Down on Climate Dissent
Launched at the COP30 meeting in Brazil last year, the Declaration on Information Integrity on Climate Change (DIICC) was, as reported here, a manifesto for censorship wrapped in venal doublespeak. Fittingly, given the corrupt and exhaustive process that spawned it, the DIICC was last week ‘endorsed’ by the European Union. According to a European Commission press release from the Directorate-General for Climate Action, the EU Council gave its approval to the UNESCO initiative on January 20th and the EU formally accepted it a week later.
The DIICC “establishes shared international commitments to address information integrity on climate change and promote accurate, evidence-based information on climate issues”, explains the press release. But it came just ahead of France’s X headquarters being raided by police and Spain’s Pedro Sánchez launching a “coalition of the digitally willing” aimed at regulating social media, using child protection as a very obvious pretext. With similar moves to extend the Online Safety Act being considered by the UK Government, it would seem that the “coalition” is one of chaotic and crisis-ridden governments and intergovernmental agencies running scared of democracy.

In science you question EVERYTHING. If you cannot question it or scrutinise it or check it then it IS NOT SCIENCE, and by clamping down on or arresting people for voicing their opinion or questioning something that is allegedly all about science all you do is reveal it isn’t about science at all and never was from the start. ——-Can you imagine arresting someone because they disagree with black holes? Or they don’t agree with evolution? Ofcourse not, that would be totally absurd.—— But you see no one wants to reorganise the global economy based on what they claim is true about black holes. But when it comes to climate change the entire world system depends on not what is known to be true about climate, but on what has been decided is true. ——It is a kind of climate coup and the greatest pseudo scientific fraud ever perpetrated. We are now all at risk of being latter day Galileo’s under House Arrest because we are dangerous to the Climate Change Authority. We might expose their eco socialist fraud for what it is just as Galileo exposed the church for insisting only they could decide what is true.
I adopted eppur si muove as my motto over ten years ago…
Looks like Galileo took a plea bargain. —-Admit you did it for a better deal
There is worse coming.

Oh goody! The Declaration on information integrity on climate change (DIICC) is going to make sure we won’t be fed any more rubbish about the weather or made to pay a fortune for our gas and electricity. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?
All of the data is showing the exact opposite of what the idiotic anthropogenic warming adherents claim, our sun is heading towards a grand solar minimum which means global temperatures are falling away from the peak that happened around a century ago.
How can the EU morons claim that they are right when this is becoming more obvious every year to anyone other than the lunatics at the Met Office who are armed with inaccurate figures from badly sited temperature measurement stations?
How do we get this whole crazed segment of humanity to desist?
Net Zero can be seen as the delusional desire of countries with no hydrocarbons to not be dependent on hydrocarbons and those that do have hydrocarbons to not be able to reap the wealth benefits from them.
It’s a very delusional, very dangerous political stunt.
Well yes but we do have hydrocarbons and do so some other European countries, and we could probably have a lot more of them if we did what the USA have done. Maybe not enough, though if we had built enough nuclear power stations to run the grid then we could use all the oil for other stuff.
We could certainly exploit our hydrocarbons more than we do. But we can’t win the global hydrocarbons game. And what I think there is a lack of appreciation for is that the UK-European establishment doesn’t just rule its own people. It has ruled pretty much the whole world for the last 200+ years and that is the fight they are really interested in.
I suppose the more forgiving way of looking at it is that at the geopolitical level, you either rule or you are ruled, and so if other nations become stronger than you, you become a vassal, one way or another. For 200+ years, the rest of the world have been vassals of our western nations. And it’s obviously much nicer to have vassals than be a vassal.
So the attempt to take hydrocarbons off the board as a factor in the global power game could be seen as a strategic move for national defence.
Then why not develop domestic nuclear capability as the French have done?
I mean it’s possible that they have the patriotic desire and belief to want to keep us on top and an idea about an approach to it but the approach is so obviously not going to work and it leaves us even more beholden to China.
It’s a good question.
Just riffing here, but it must have something to do with the fact that it takes decades to get nuclear plants up and running. It could probably be done quicker but that would involve less regulations. The ruling establishment are about more regulation, not less. Their stupidity and list for control are the main obstacles.
In any case I’m not sure nuclear power is any sort of silver bullet. Even if it helps to meet domestic needs I don’t think it solves the bigger geopolitical problem. Our ruling elites don’t just want to rule us, they want to continue ruling the world. Nuclear power doesn’t solve that problem for them.
Ultimately there is no solution to that “problem”. Our technological and organisational advantage is rapidly dwindling because other countries are becoming more developed and sophisticated. And we no longer have the population advantage either, as we did at the beginning of the 20th century.
Sadly we’re going to have to suffer the long process of our elites fighting against those inevitable realities.
France managed it.
I don’t see how wind farms are any better at helping us to rule others than nuclear power. It still boils down to energy independence. I mean either way the price of hydrocarbons would theoretically drop which would help everyone else.
Anyway it’s so obviously not ever going to work that I struggle to believe anyone beyond the insane or stupid thinks it could. Perhaps power induces a form of blindness that is akin to stupidity.
Don’t be a DIICC
“Accurate, evidence-based information on climate issues…”
…In other words, EU-sponsored lies.
I have not seen any attempt yet to explain the very wet start to 2026 by climate change yet.
One possible factor is the Sun has been quite active, affecting the magnetosphere . The interaction of solar rays with our weather systems does seem to have an effect.
The magnetosphere is also weakening, magnifying the effect of the Sun’s flares, hence the more common Auroras.
My wife is writing a book on this subject.
Or it could be that from time immemorial we’ve had droughts and very rainy periods.
What’s the bet that by the end of the year the BBC will proclaim 2026 the warmest year on record.
On Notalotofpeople… somebody posted a link to a Sky article by a ‘broadcast meteorologist’ – no, new one on me too – that explained our wet weather. You might need to sit down at this point because there was NO mention of climate change. there was an accurate explanation that it was due to a blocking high stalling the jetstream causing all the Atlantic lows to hit us while to the east they freeze under high pressure. She explained that normally the jetstream flows across the Atlantic but has gone a bit wavy. Well, for her information the jetstream pattern changed in 2005 and is now subject to Rossby Waves to the extent that since then the Northern Hemisphere jetstream looped south of the Equator. There has been a Sudden Stratospheric Warming in the polar vortex that has brought freezing weather to the US. Westfieldmike is on the right track as back in the 1950’s HH Lamb identified that this change to the jetstream coincided with solar minimum. Going back to the sky lady, she offered no clue as to when the pattern will change which takes me back to a late night BBC2 weather forecaster who stated that the… Read more »
Just like Lysenko in Stalin’s time who persecuted scientists that refused to renounce genetics and accept his pseudoscience. The result of his science was millions died of starvation. The parallels with climate science are uncanny.
If the climate is such a threat, why are the latest figures since 1920 showing the lowest deaths from climate ever recorded?
The WEF and the Davos crowd are in panic mode. All they can think of is ramp up the lies. I think they are hell bent on managed decline of the West, and reducing the human population by any means.
The DIICC and the EU appear to be declaring themselves infallible and their statements must not be questioned.
Let’s consider who else that applies to.
That is all the evidence required that this is FAITH, not Science.
“Religion is a culture of faith; Science is a culture of doubt”
Richard Feynman
Richard Feynman (Scientist) was awarded the 1965 Nobel Prize in Physics for his fundamental work in quantum electrodynamics (QED). He shared the prize equally with Julian Schwinger and Shin’ichirō Tomonaga.
Reason for the Award: The trio was recognized for creating a new, workable quantum electrodynamics (the theory of how light and matter interact), which was described as having “deep-ploughing consequences for the physics of elementary particles”.
Al Gore (Politician) was awarded the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize, sharing the honor with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Reason for Award: The Norwegian Nobel Committee awarded the prize for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.
Perhaps all those who believe this EU bs should be called DIICC – heads
“The DIICC “establishes shared international commitments to address information integrity on climate change and promote accurate, evidence-based information on climate issues”, explains the press release.” You cannot mandate certainty in any human endeavor. “If you thought that science was certain – well, that is just an error on your part” Richard Feynman “No government has the right to decide on the truth of scientific principles, nor to prescribe in any way the character of the questions investigated. Neither may a government determine the aesthetic value of artistic creations, nor limit the forms of literacy or artistic expression. Nor should it pronounce on the validity of economic, historic, religious, or philosophical doctrines. Instead it has a duty to its citizens to maintain the freedom, to let those citizens contribute to the further adventure and the development of the human race.” Richard Feynman The Agriculteral, Scientific and Industrial Revolution was never controlled centrally while the great body of useful knowledge that was being created did not require any defence against ‘disinformation’. It stood on it’s own merit. The only controls (apart from labour Laws) were ones of classifications, standards and taxonomy and those came from the same people doing the creating and… Read more »
Climate disinformation is indeed widespread, disseminated by Governments, the EU, UN, NGOs, activist groups, the mainstream media.
So I (and others) are prepared, I check sources, false flags are so pathetic they are easily recognised, and I keep informed by visiting the various websites such as WUWT, Not A Lot of People Know That, Global Policy Foundation, various YouTubers and contributors on X, and I rely on my own scientific education, intelligence, common sense, and observation of weather these last seven decades.
Because… I (and others) do know that nothing that Governments and the purveyors of Climatism say is, “Safe & Effective”, and that there is no such thing as “consensus” in science, only in religion which is what Climatism is.
The DIICC “establishes shared international commitments to address information integrity on climate change and promote accurate, evidence-based information on climate issues”, explains Herr Goebbels
the press release’I think everyone here expects them to be doing the opposite of course. A tissue of lies given of course that after decades of predictions not a single one has come true. And if somebody had produced a conclusive paper proving the CO2 link we would all know its name – no such paper exists.
It will be worth keeping an eye on Germany if the weather remains the same as their gas reserves are so depleated that the prospect of shutting down industrial gas use is probably days away as they have to keep the domestic gas pipes full for safety reasons. Germany’s economy is already in a steady decline and closing down production will be a big hit. If only they had not stupidly closed down 3 perfectly good nuclear power plants due to fears of tidal waves, while also having 6 others they could refurbish.
Thought we left the EU?
Not sure if this is funny, sad or dangerous – or a mix of all three. Reminds me of many government’s covid edicts, most of which were wrong, but this is 10 times worse. We need a Sweden to call out this BS once and for all
