The New Adolescence Spin-Off Book Sounds More Like an Anti-Male Civilisational Suicide-Note – Will Sir Keir Starmer’s Own Emetic Family-Letter be in it?
I hate to disappoint Daily Sceptic readers, but they may just have missed out on the literary opportunity of a lifetime – the chance to be included within a book-based spin-off from the never-ending anti-penis juggernaut that is the 2025 Netflix series Adolescence. January 12th saw the final deadline for members of the public to submit contributions to an epistolary anthology edited (or edited in the name of, as he is dyslexic) by one of the show’s stars and co-creators, actor Stephen Graham. Called Letters to Our Sons, it sounds like one big, unnecessary exercise in emasculating schoolboys.
There’s an awful lot of excited chatter about something called ‘toxic masculinity’ out there these days, but it seems to my jaded male eyes that a rival disease called ‘toxic anti-masculinity’ is by far the greater social malaise, as Graham’s book appears to demonstrate. I’m not a particularly masculine man myself. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I can’t drive a car, I’ve never fired a gun, I haven’t had a fist-fight since primary school, I find most sport boring as hell and, unlike the Manosphere-groomed main teen male character in Adolescence, I’ve never even murdered a single schoolgirl. In fact, the main thing that makes me want to turn towards unleashing my own personal campaign of male violence these days is hectoring anti-male-violence campaigns like Graham’s.

Thank you for acknowledging the reality of the situation. Something that seldom happens in this place, especially amongst the men on here. Accepting certain facts which contradict their bias is quite the bitter pill to swallow, it would seem. Even when said irrefutable facts are right in front of them, in black and white.

Because when it pains you to acknowledge reality and accept facts which are right in front of you that contradict your narrative, be mindful to put a spin on the evidence so that it always confirms your bias.
Going by Steven’s article it would appear to me that Stephen Graham and all of the other male contributors to the book are taking part of their own volition. Nobody’s coercing or forcing them to get involved. But STILL men like you need to obsessively resort to the blame game and frame something which men are clearly doing of their own free will as somehow being the fault of women. At no point in your comment do you mention men. What does that tell us?
Implying that men be bizarrely absolved from all responsibility and should not be held accountable for their voluntary actions, because ‘the real issue is women’, smacks of desperation. Another case of: when the facts don’t support your standpoint, just change the ‘facts’.
