Jewish MP Banned From School Due to “Safeguarding Concerns” After Staff’s Pro-Palestine Protests
Jewish Labour MP Damien Egan was banned from visiting Bristol Brunel Academy, a school in his constituency, due to “safeguarding concerns” following a campaign by pro-Palestine staff and union activists. The Mail has more.
Labour MP Damien Egan’s trip to Bristol Brunel Academy in September was cancelled after a campaign by far-Left protesters from Bristol’s National Education Union (NEU) branch and its local Palestine Solidarity Campaign group.
The Bristol North East MP was barred because of “safeguarding concerns” after the activists, who claimed to be representing the views of teachers, parents, and residents, highlighted his links to the Labour Friends of Israel group.
Activists described it as a win for “safeguarding, solidarity and for the power of the NEU trade union staff group, parents, and campaigners standing together”.
One NEU representative said teachers were planning to wear keffiyehs into the school on the day of his visit and were planning “work that members could do with students in preparation” before it was cancelled.
Communities Secretary Steve Reed revealed on Sunday a Jewish MP had been “refused permission to visit a school in his own constituency in case his presence inflames the teachers”.
“I have a colleague who is Jewish, who has been banned from visiting a school and refused permission to visit a school in his own constituency, in case his presence inflames the teachers,” he told the Jewish News.
“That is an absolute outrage.'”
Asked his response to the ban, he said: “They will be called in, and they will be held to account for doing that, because you cannot have people with those kinds of attitudes teaching our children. You just can’t have it.”
Mr Reed did not name his colleague but a string of social media posts from Bristol’s NEU and Palestine campaigners bragged about the cancellation of Mr Egan’s visit.
In one post from September, Bristol NEU wrote: “Victory for Education Workers, Parents and the Community.
“MP Damien Egan’s planned school visit at Bristol Brunel Academy this Friday has been cancelled after concerns were raised by the NEU trade union staff group, parents and local constituents.
“This is a clear message: politicians who openly support Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza are not welcome in our schools.
“Egan is Vice Chair of Labour Friends of Israel and has visited Israel since the current onslaught on Gaza began, demonstrating his support.
“We celebrate this cancellation as a win for safeguarding, solidarity, and for the power of the NEU trade union staff group, parents, and campaigners standing together.”

I have just finished reading Douglas Murray’s latest book on the conflict in Israel. I thought I knew most of what was going on, but the extra that Douglas has revealed is remarkable journalism and truly chilling with the details that he reveals about how captured middle ground and left of centre politics has become. Hamas, Hezbollah and by extension Iran now totally own the left wing politics globally and treacherous bastards like education unions are doing the work for Islamic extremism for them, polluting the next generation with their evil.
I have two sisters who are ex- teachers, a niece who has just left the industry and another niece ten years in, none of them have ever supported the NEU but the organisation apparently has a stranglehold on teachers regardless of affiliations. It has little support. It was the NEU which shut and pushed relentlessly for closures during the Scamdemic – “for the children.” This is nothing more than a mafia racket. The Union hierarchy needs calling in for a few words and the dire outcomes if they fail to listen. That w#nker Johnson could have sorted this in 2020 but the gutless Turd bottled it. No chance of Kneel’s mob sorting it either.
His witnessed account of the torture of the victims of the pogrom are difficult to contemplate. Cutting the breasts off a young woman before raping her and then murdering is one that convinced me that these people that teachers admire are the most degenerate form of humanity. Worse than any animal. These teachers are twisted National Socialists.
I’ve always believed that the primary role of a school is to impart knowledge. Secondary roles include instilling the virtues of tolerance, openness and understanding. How is that possible with such a biased and intolerant teaching profession?
The primary role should be to teach the basics and then how to learn.
Because the law is not enforced through sympathy by the blob and elites for the teaching unions and fear they might get bad comments.
It isn’t, I last dealt with teachers about 12 or 13 years ago, I found the younger ones quite rigid in their views, they really didn’t like my views one little bit.
Doesn’t “safeguarding” sound such a caring word? It’s about looking after helpless little children.
And here we see what that turns into in the real world, where it means using the imagined feelings of children to bully and shut down people for political reasons.
Watch out for nice and kind weasel words.
Irony in the extreme that these people, who often refer to those of us on the politically conservative side after a certain twisted ideology, are the ones who are actually behaving in a manner that would be associated with that degeneracy.
Without a scrap of self-awareness.
Pogrom in Britain, 90 years ago. “In the worst incident of anti-Jewish violence in Britain during the interwar period, the “Pogrom of Mile End”, that occurred in 1936, 200 Blackshirt youths ran amok in the East End of London, smashing the windows of Jewish shops and homes and throwing an elderly man and young girl through a window. Though less serious, attacks on Jews were also reported in MANCHESTER and Leeds in the north of England”. History repeats itself. The only difference is that Far Left replaces Far Right and keffiyehs replace black shirts. Fast Forward and here is a short list of recent “incidents” Attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in MANCHESTER! The attacker was Jihad(sic) Al-Shamie, a 35-year-old British citizen of Syrian descent. Dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters, organised by the “International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, gathered outside the Miznon restaurant on a Friday night, chanting slogans and displaying antisemitic banners, under the supervision of police officers! Jewish shops in North London are attacked and forced to close down Maccabi fans are banned from Aston Villa with the help of Birmingham Labour councillor Waseem Zaffar and the police in order “to protect the local muslim community”! Translation: Ignorant cosseted retards were going to cosplay being Hamas terrorists on the day of his visit.

South Yorkshire Police have gone bust – 65 million quid over five years.
I think and hope that the NEU has gone too far this time. I think there will be consequences.
There will be no consequences until after the next GE assuming Reform win. This government will not act any more than the governments of the past couple of decades have acted to stop this coming about.
I was rather hoping the membership might turn against the union leadership.
In war cemetaries around the world the ghosts of fallen servicemen will be asking what they made the ultimate sacrifice for.
Sack the bastards
Sack them all and take away their pension rights. These people are unfit to teach.
They are certainly a safeguarding concern and not fit to be educating children. They should all lose their DBS clearance.
pro-Palestine staff blind and stupid! union activists the same
who pays these idiots
The buck stops here: the Principal of Bristol Brunel Academy is Jen Cusack.
As the head of the leadership team she is paid to take responsibility and be answerable for the actions of staff in her team. This failure is therefore hers, and she should be asked to resign, or be fired. Too many leaders of publicly funded organisations are allowed to fail in their duties without consequence.
