Iran’s Supreme Leader Planning to Flee as Country Could be on “Verge of Collapsing”, Claims Trump
The supreme leader of Iran has made plans to flee and his country could be on the “verge of collapsing” as anti-regime protests escalate, Donald Trump has claimed. The Telegraph has more.
The US President said Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was “looking to go someplace” when asked about reports he could escape to Russia.
Protesters chanted “death to Khamenei” and “freedom, freedom” in Tehran, the capital, on Thursday night and set buildings on fire elsewhere in the largest day of unrest since the demonstrations began in December.
The regime plunged the country into an internet blackout overnight, with unverified videos surfacing on Friday morning of bodies in the streets.
Discussions have taken place inside Iran over a Nicolás Maduro-style arrangement, which would result in Khamenei leaving Iran in exchange for keeping the Iranian regime in place, the Economist reported.
Before Maduro was captured in a US military operation last week, talks between Washington and Caracas touched on how he could be allowed to leave Venezuela safely, which would allow the regime’s remaining figures to remain in power. The proposal, which never got off the ground, was labelled ‘Madurismo without Maduro’.
Saeed Laylaz, an economist favoured by the regime, urged Khamenei to step aside.
Iranian officials told the New York Times that the regime has been “thrust into survival mode”, and reports emerged last weekend that a “Plan B” was being drawn up for the ayatollah to escape to Russia in the event of protests growing out of control.
Trump said on Thursday night that the country could be on the “verge of collapsing”.
He promised again to step in to protect protesters who were targeted by the regime. The US President told Fox News: “We’re ready to do it. If they do that, we’re going to hit them hard… the enthusiasm to overturn that regime is incredible.”
Fox News asked Trump whether the rumours were true that Khamenei had a “Plan B” to flee to Russia. The US President replied: “Or someplace, yeah. He’s looking to go someplace.”
The supreme leader struck a defiant tone on Friday, insisting that the Islamic Republic would “not back down” against the “domestic terrorists” taking part in protests around the country.
Speaking publicly for the first time since January 3rd, Khamenei warned Trump to “focus on the problems in his country” and said the “arrogant” US leader would be “overthrown”.

Iran is a sophisticated country. Don’t believe all the lies and propaganda from the US, it’s poodles and a compliant main stream media who all want “regime change” and a new US friendly government in Iran so they can plunder its oil and harm supplies to China.
This is the real Iran where bare headed women use public transport, and the scene could be anywhere in Europe.

The US and its vassals have been seeking “regime change” in Iran for decades including direct military action by bombing Iran.
Iran is not the ones invading other countries and trying to bomb them to oblivion.
Mike Pompeo praises Iranian protesters and ‘every Mossad agent walking beside them’.

Something a bit odd about the YouTube item. Nearly all the comments are from 6 months ago.
I wonder how many armed soldiers are walking behind the camera. I wonder who is holding the sign saying ‘Police Recording’
Video posted by Visitera, “your passport to Iran’s diverse and captivating world.”
Not clear who/what Visitera is.
If you hit the “Sort by” button and click “Newest” you will see the latest comments which are 12 hours or 1 day ago.
Yes, but it is still strange that so many positive comments were posted when the video was posted. Visitera is obviously an Iranian government operation. Many of the comments look like lies.
That YouTube video makes me want to move to Iran. I’ve been wrong all these years in thinking that Islamist regimes are oppressive.
😀😀😀
“. . and the scene could be anywhere in Europe…”
Boy O boy – you certainly got that right!
Are you repeating something you heard on the BBC or are you just lying ?
Iran has a sophisticated middle professional class. It has a tyrranical murderous theocratic government supprted by a thuggish set of paramilitaries (IRGC) who care nothing for the former.
The latter have maintained the power of the latter over the former for 4 + decades. I shared a house in a town outside Leicester in the 70s with 2 Iranian students of textile technology, one a minor prince the other the son of a vineyard owner, a middle-class lady, whose husband had been killed in political cimcumstances. They hated the Shah, Raza Pahlavi for his notorious Savak and returned in December 1979 ecstatic for a national future. One was executed by the Khomeini regime within 2 months, the other I never heard of again.
I have worked with Iranians in China on technical projects and sponsored a leading Iranian engineer to join the board or a UK HQ’d professional body.
I am impressed that the real middle class people there are rising against this tyrranny that has spanned 46 years and wish them success despite the Euro-Globalists
Another Musulman country another 7th century dictatorship based on Mein Koran.
Tear it all down across the entire Musulman world.
If Iran is so wonderful why does half the country want to leave? Reminds me of Cuba, or Venezuela, or most of Africa. Nothing is relative. Absolutes exist.
Trump effect.
Now if only… UK’s Supreme Leader Planning to Flee as Country Could be on “Verge of Collapsing”
The way to move forward is to deal with the IRGC and the mad Mullahs. I’m sure there are enough lampposts in Iran for this.
I hope he won’t flee the country.
Let’s see how much the people of Iran truly love their supreme leader…
I hear Mossad are at work to help the people by providing Starlink connections and also identifying where the IRGC weapons stores are located. They are also taking an interest in members of the heirachy leaving…with their families.
If so, that’s the most encouraging piece of news about Iran that I’ve heard recently.
They gonna love a Muslim in Moscow NOT
Maybe they’re heading for London where I’m sure they’ll get a warm welcome from a certain mayor and Prime Minister !!
