The Daily Sceptic Christmas Appeal
It’s that time of year again – when we ask our generous readers to dip into the pockets to help keep the show on the road.
As regular readers will know, donations from readers are more or less our only source of revenue. Yes, we average 1.25 million page views a month, which is more than the New Statesman, the Morning Star and Novara Media combined. But thanks to the censorious activities of companies like NewsGuard – whose latest efforts to demonetise us Will Jones wrote about here – the Daily Sceptic struggles to attract any advertising. This is a prime example of the censorship-industrial complex at work. So please make a one-off donation or become a regular donor on our donate page – it’s the only way we can survive.
Remember, if you donate a minimum of £5 a month or £50 a year, you’ll get these benefits:
- You’ll be able to read the additional articles behind our paywall
- You’ll receive those paywalled articles in the daily email newsletter
- You’ll be able to watch or listen to the premium version of the Sceptic, our weekly podcast
- You’ll be able to comment below the line on all our articles
Instructions on how to access these perks once you’ve made a donation of at least £5/month or £50/year can be found on our Premium page, which you can access here.
For a long time, I resisted introducing a paywall because I think it’s important our content reaches as wide an audience as possible. However, I wanted to give readers a real incentive to support our work by becoming regular donors so decided to stick one article a day behind a paywall. The rest of the content is free, but to keep it that way we really need your support.
So, if you value what we do, please think about making a donation this Christmas. We’re only able to continue producing such high-quality journalism by employing four members of staff – Will Jones, Richard Eldred, Laurie Wastell and me – and by paying our stable of regular contributors, including Ben Pile, Tilak Doshi, Paul Homewood, Charlotte Gill, Noah Carl, Steven Tucker, James Alexander and Joanna Gray. And we can’t continue to pay anyone without the generous support of our readers. Remember, just £5/month or £50/year will enable you to access our full range of perks, as well as support our work.
A big thank you to all those people who’ve donated in 2025, particularly those who’ve set up recurring monthly donations – and thanks to those who regularly post below the line. It’s hugely appreciated.
Merry Christmas.
Stop Press: We’ve created a companion Substack featuring all our climate content called the Climate Skeptic. Check it out here and please consider becoming a premium subscriber.
To join in with the discussion please make a donation to The Daily Sceptic.
Profanity and abuse will be removed and may lead to a permanent ban.
How does Frank Haviland’s The New Conservative attract so much advertising when its content is meagre compared to the TDS’s and its readership, judged by the Comments, miniscule?
DS was “blacklisted” for mis/dis information by some organization or other, the name of which escapes me, that vets websites on behalf of advertisers.
I believe it’s called hate not hope, and they don’t believe in people.
Anti human
I’ll continue my monthly donations but since I’m no longer well paid (or paid at all, for that matter), I won’t make a special Christmas donation this year.
Nevertheless, your work is much appreciated and I hope it’ll continue for the next year.
Merry Christmas to anyone who might see this.
MODERATOR HERE: Thank you for your wishes and your support, and Merry Christmas
