A magnetic hijab designed to prevent strangulation and ‘protect the modesty’ of female officers could be rolled out across police forces to attract more female Muslim recruits. The Telegraph has the story.
The ‘Blue Light Hijab’ is designed to prevent strangulation and protect the modesty of female officers who wear the religious headwear.
The hijab has already been given to every eligible officer in Leicestershire Police and other forces are now placing orders, as well as other emergency service workers such as paramedics and NHS employees.
The hijab consists of two pieces of fabric attached by a magnetised quick-release clasp and is designed to detach from the headband easily during a confrontation without exposing the officer’s hair.

The garment, which was developed and designed by Leicestershire Police and De Montfort University (DMU), aims to protect Muslim women from assault or having the headwear pulled over their eyes as a distraction.
Detective Sergeant Yassin Desai, who is behind the project, first came up with the idea of a safe and comfortable hijab for female officers 20 years ago.
DS Desai, the founder of Leicestershire Police Association of Muslim Police, said: “It’s actually taken years to develop properly. We completed the combat trials at Enderby with female officers wearing it and it held up. The bottom part was able to detach and the officer was able to keep her dignity.
“No one else has been able to make these, only DMU. For the first time ever, DMU has set up manufacturing in the UK for this. It’s amazing to think after three years of research and development, we have got the design of this right, and we’re taking it forward together. It’s a great product, it’s safe and protects Muslim women’s dignity.”
Definitely in favour of police officers using equipment that is safe and effective (lol) and helps to keep them safe from physical harm and able to do their job unhindered. Not sure where preserving your dignity comes into it – having a criminal or anyone try and rough you up is pretty undignified, but in that moment if you worrying about your “dignity” then I am not sure you have the right mindset for the job.
I can just imagine the scenario when there is a street protest by Muslim men and it gets a bit out of hand. The police are sent in to restore order and you have Muslim police women telling Muslim men to behave themselves. I am sure that the men will meekly obey.
Muslim men do not consider women equal so when there is Islamic rioting and disorder the Muslim ‘Police’ Women will achieve what? Oh, I see – the intention is they will not be an obstacle to the Islamic takeover of the UK?

Since Muslim hijabs & Sikh turbans are NOT RELIGIOUS REQUIREMENTS, no one should be allowed to demand special exemptions for them in ANY JOB in the West. Even if they were religious requirements, the Health & Safety & uniform requirements of employment in the West outweigh any possible exemptions, and if Muslims, Sikhs, etc. want to work in a particular job, they must OBEY THE RULES for that job, including appropriate attire. If they refuse to obey the rules for the job, their applications must be rejected. If they agree to obey the rules for the job, then try to claim special treatment and exemptions later, they must be instantly sacked, with no recourse to employment tribunals and no compensation. Actually, the very notion of being “policed” by muslims is in itself an insult. They do not belong here.
