The Sceptic | Episode 62: A Year of Free Speech Battles, the OBR’s Junk Climate Science and Suing Shell Over the Weather
In Episode 62 of the Sceptic, host Laurie Wastell speaks to Toby Young, the Daily Sceptic’s Editor-in-Chief and the Director of the Free Speech Union, to review the many free speech battles that we’ve been fighting this year in Starmer’s two-tier tyranny.
And for our premium subscribers, Laurie speaks to Chris Morrison, the Daily Sceptic’s Environment Editor, on how the Office for Budget Responsibility was taken in by junk climate science, the campaign to sue Shell Oil because of the weather and the Government’s response to the ongoing criticisms of the Met Office.

Socialists are always communists in disguise. The Labour government of 1945 set in train the situation we now find ourselves in. Every Labour government has ratcheted up the socialism in this country. They are evil communists. Fight them with that in mind.
I would bet £50 that the COS lawyers who wrote the charges were Muslamic. Ans that, perhaps, those in court were also Muslamics.
The COS and the legal profession has been captured by Muslamics. Its part of rheir Koranic inspired master plan.
Deportation. Remigration. Now.
Lord Young’s fight against censorship masquerading as child safety reminded me of Socrates’s Trial.
Socrates was sentenced to death in 399 BC on the principal charge of “corrupting the youth”. The underlying reason was purely political, stemmed from his relentless questioning that challenged authority.
He was found guilty by a jury of citizens who saw him as a threat to the established order by encouraging young men to question authority.
Centuries later, Left or Right dictatorships invested heavily in “educating the young” as a means of controlling future citizens, and reacted badly to anyone who interfered with the indoctrination of the young.
Which brings us to Starmer’s conception of democracy (now also jury-free).
“There is no difference between communism and socialism, except in the means of achieving the same ultimate end: communism proposes to enslave men by force, socialism – by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.”

I get fed up with climate catastrophism. Many people I know accept it wholesale. I say to them:- 1. did you know that in Roman times the climate was so warm that they grew grapes and made wine in Scotland?, and 2. The international 300 scientists who put together the IPCC reports every 5 years or so do NOT say there is a climate crisis in the body of the report. The “summary for policymakers” at the beginning of the report was written by politicians, and DOES say there is a crisis. It doesn’t make any difference. People rarely change their minds about anything. The understanding of science in the general population is pitifully poor.
