Teacher Banned After Telling Muslim Child That Britain Is Christian Country
In the wake of ex-Royal Marine Jamie Michael’s ban from coaching children over online posts, a teacher has been sacked for telling a Muslim pupil Britain’s still a Christian country – fuelling fresh concerns that child protection rules are being twisted to target Right-wing views. The Telegraph has the story.
The primary school teacher was referred to his local child protection board over comments made to the pupil at a school in London. A senior detective from the Metropolitan Police’s child abuse investigation team also became involved. …
The teacher, who does not wish to be named, was suspended and sacked for an incident in which he allegedly admonished students for washing their feet in the sinks in the boys’ lavatories. Police were also called in to investigate an alleged hate crime.
According to the child who made the complaint, the teacher told them the school was not a religious one but that there was an Islamic school a mile away if they wished to attend it instead. He also told them: “Britain is still a Christian state” and pointed out that the King was head of the Church of England.
After the feet-washing incident, the teacher tried to explain to the year six class the importance of British values of tolerance. It was claimed he reminded the children that Islam remained a minority religion in the UK.
In his legal claim against the local authority, lawyers for the teacher pointed out the school was a non-faith school and that prayers had been informally banned from the playground – and, by extension, that included washing feet in the sinks – and confined to a prayer room set aside for the purpose.
But the school suspended the teacher in March last year and subsequently sacked him. A month later, in April 2024, he was informed he was being referred to the safeguarding board as well as to the Metropolitan Police. The police inquiry was subsequently dropped. …
The teacher, who is now suing the local authority with backing from the Free Speech Union, was banned from working with children after the safeguarding officer concluded he had made hurtful comments about Islam and that the child had been subject to emotional harm.
The teacher succeeded in appealing the ban and is now understood to be working part-time at another school outside London.
Lord Young, the director of the Free Speech Union, said on Monday: “This teacher lost his job and almost ended up being barred from the profession for life just because he pointed out to a class of Muslim schoolchildren that the national religion of England is Anglicanism.
“Things have reached a pretty pass in this country if a teacher can be branded a safeguarding risk because he says something that’s incontestably true. If he’d claimed that Islam is the official religion of England, even though that’s not true, I doubt he would have got into any trouble.”

Profanity and abuse will be removed and may lead to a permanent ban.
It doesn’t matter what the outcome of the case against the local authority I suspect the out come will still be irreparable harm to this man’s career. And of course whatever the out come the message is sent – don’t criticise islam or the muzzies, or else.
By what damned right do the Turd Worlders conclude that it is acceptable for them to use wash sinks provided for all just to wash their bloody feet? They can do their ruddy washing at home.
We have some snivelling cowards in our public services. Just for once couldn’t one of the faux public servants have grown a pair and backed this teacher?
Whimpering, odious, squiring parasites for Politicians, that pander to minorities and Muslims thinking they will vote for them. The only people Muslims will ultimately vote for is other Muslims. The Political Class are poisoned with contempt for their own people and lick the backsides of those who will cast them aside once they are no longer needed.
That’s very mild criticism of our political class — if the truth be told, they’re far worse than that.
Yep I know…..and I have tore into them often. But ofcourse we all have to balance our remarks against the risk of a visit from the Equality Gestapo
Absolutely.
Mass Immigration into this country so as to erase Identity and Culture is a diabolical disgrace, but we are hardly a “Christian Country” when 50% of it is projected to be Muslim by 2050, all so the One World Government Political Class can turn us into a REGION rather than a NATION, to be governed by the technocrats we never voted for or heard of at the UN/WEF
Herded like cattle and with the chips to prove it.
You may be aware of the following? What about the 4th quote regarding too many people followed by the UN looking at replacement migration to ‘solve’ our falling birth rate. “Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world has ever experienced a major shift in the priorities of both governments and individuals and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences of every human action be integrated into individual and collective decision-making at every level.” UN “The concept of national sovereignty has been immutable, indeed a sacred principle of international relations. It is a principle which will yield only slowly and reluctantly to the new imperatives of global environmental cooperation.” UN’s Commission on Global Governance: “Regionalism must precede globalism. We foresee a seamless system of governance from local communities, individual states, regional unions and up through to the United Nations itself.” UN’s Commission on Global Governance: “A reasonable estimate for an industrialized world society at the present North American material standard of living would be 1 billion. At the more frugal European standard of living, 2 to 3 billion… Read more »
Are you suggesting it will be “Islamic Global Governance”?
Islam has global intentions as do Marxists and both appear to be assisting each other. The other players such as the various wealthy globalist individuals that became prominent during the global lockdowns also seem to be in alignment with Islam and Marxism, but it is hard to work out who is using who?
If she said “is” she should have been sent for retraining.
If she said “was” there should be no issue at all.
Nastiness and vindictiveness have always existed and played out among individuals. But we now have institutionalised systems for some people (who display a certain ideological view) to go after those they don’t like. The safeguarding protection racket is one of them.
In fact, anyone using the excuse of “protecting children” to go after someone who hasn’t actually done anything to a child is almost certainly up to something sinister and nasty.
Institutional liberalism attracts people of ‘liberal’ mindsets.

Kit Knightly rightly exposing all the proposals for “improving” the justice system. If it’s not “for the victims” it’s for “the children.” Yeah right.
Well, I fully support this poor teacher but unfortunately I don’t think Britain is still a Christian country.
It’s a broken post-modernist Marxist dystopia.
How is saying that England is a Christian country “right-wing” – or any wing?
Simple – to the wokerati (with the support of the authorities and the police) “right-wing” = bad, and so anything that aligns with traditional beliefs and customs is also bad.
If it’s a non-faith school why is a prayer room provided, the inference being, for Moslems? Is there any comment from Christian clergy? What a deplorable case; the effective ruination of a teaching career for these spiteful and false accusations.
The way we are going, they will have to categorise 1984 and The Hunger Games as documentaries!
How long before the jelly-spined posturing cowardice of others leads to people like this having to go into hiding for fear of being beheaded? Serious question.
I have suspected for some time that these incidents in schools are being deliberately planned and executed. it is yet another ploy by some in the Muslim community to undermine the teachers, and indeed the ethos of the schools, to cow them into submission. Christianity is not acceptable to the Muslims and they are targeting teachers in particlar into silence so that more and more Muslim practices such as prayer mats and prayer rooms will become the norm. Sadly, instead of doing their duty and supporting these teachers the craven authorities are doing the exact opposite. The outcome is obvious.
The teacher, who does not wish to be named
Understandable , as I doubt he will be given protection from the boys’ community.
What a great bloke, he should join the Free Speech Union. Is there any crowfunding for him?
Did anyone see Jess Philips in the Commons yesterday?. She’ll struggle to be a victim of a grooming gang. It was pitiful.
1973 – @ a NW England Primary School: two boistrous 10yr olds were swinging from a ceiling radiator pipe in the “Boys” toilets. Someone peeping in from the playground informed the PE/Geography teacher (a muscle bound semi-pro RU player) who burst in and launched a violent attack on the culprits. There was no blood and no bruises (ok I think there must have been bruises but none reported to parents and no complaints to the School). We all learned something that day: the system is violent and wrong / shit happens / better a minor beating from your teacher than your parents finding out / dont take anabolic steroids or your troubles to work I met him a couple of years later at a Schools Sports Carnival thing at my Secondary School. He was deffo kindoff sheepish like we were both remembering the event. What he did was totally out of order (even for 1973) but he kindoff silently acknowledged that. I’m glad he didn’t get sacked – though perhaps a stern ticking off from the Headmaster and a period of closer oversight would had been appropriate if the authorities/management had found out. (Everyone in the school knew about it… Read more »
