I think when you’re a Pope you’re just expected to say words, and it doesn’t matter how meaningless, insincere or based in pure fantasy they are, as long as they sound, well, ‘Popeish’. The Pope is a deluded idiot who deliberately ignores the perilous plight and ongoing persecution of Christians worldwide and the fact he holds these views on Turkey, Lebanon and Islam in general just proves what an absolute duplicitous disgrace he is as a supposed Christian leader; ”During the flight that carried him from Istanbul to Beirut on November 30, Pope Leo XIV spoke with two Turkish journalists, answering their questions and offering an overall reflection on the Turkish leg of his apostolic journey. The in-flight meeting allowed the Pontiff to take stock of the days spent in Istanbul and highlight their most significant moments before continuing on to Lebanon, where the visit concluded on December 2nd. The Pope explained that his visit to Turkey and Lebanon also aimed to “promote peace throughout the region.” He identified Turkey as a key actor in mediation, noting how the country—with its Muslim majority but also with the presence of various Christian communities and other minority religions—represents a model of coexistence. “It… Read more »

If you listen to this short clip you will wonder what the hell he’s been smoking and what world he’s inhabiting. This is what a full-on denialist sounds like. Has he or the last one ever condemned Islam? Cut from the same cloth as King Charles; ”Pope Leo criticizes those Catholics who believe that Muslim mass-immigration to Europe is a threat to the West’s Christian identity: “The fears are created by those who oppose immigration & seek to keep out people who might come from another country, from another religion” He says that Lebanon is an example of how “Christians and Muslims can live together and be friends” He doesn’t say anything about the fact that higher Muslim birth rates and the influx of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian, Syrian and Iraqi migrants have created a situation in which Lebanese Christians went from being a majority of Lebanon’s population in the early 1960s to around 25% today. Along with the change came a 15-year-long civil war from which Lebanon has never recovered politically or economically and that the state until today remains a failed state in many ways. The state suffers from being strongly dominated by an armed sectarian militia,… Read more »

Is this the same Turkey who denies the genocide carried out against predominantly-Christian Armenia a century ago. The same Turkey that currently ranks 45th of countries where Christians are strongly persecuted?

The levant generally used to be a patchwork of different religions and ethnicities, now there Islamics have conducted a root and branch cleansing displacing or murdering hundreds of thousands but somehow the israelis (there are lots of Arabs and Christians in israel) are the enemy.

I think the Pope should go visit Hungary. It’d do him the world of good. As would importing a load of Muslims into the Vatican so they can ”peacefully co-exist”, Dearborn, Michigan style; ”The willful blindness of intelligent Western people about Central Europe is a stunning thing to behold.  On a recent trip to London, I had several conversations with smart liberals¯even right-liberals, like Tories¯about Hungary, where I live. They all went something like this: “You live in Budapest? That must be hard under Viktor Orbán.”“No, actually, it’s wonderful. It’s very safe.”“Because there is so much policing?”“No, because the Orbán government polices the borders.”Silence.“It’s about the migration problem, you know.” Oh no, not that! My liberal interlocutors would change the subject. Every time. The awfulness of Hungary and its prime minister is such an idée fixe for Western Europeans that very little, aside from perhaps a visit to actual, existing Hungary, would change their minds. To the Western European liberal, Hungary must be a villain, a pariah, so they can avoid dealing seriously with their own failures to govern.  Put simply, Central Europeans see what mass migration and Islamization have done to Great Britain and the countries of Western Europe and do… Read more »

Yeah, living under Muslim occupation for about 150 years taught us a lot about the true nature of Islam…
The West is only just going through that learning phase.
By the way, you are not the only person who I heard saying the same thing. Last year when I was in Hungary I got talking to a retired engineer, originally from Munich but living in Hungary. He really poured his heart out. Basically, he got sick of Germany: “you can’t say this, you can’t say that, the police will arrest you for expressing an opinion, I got fed up and left. Here you can say whatever you want, nobody will trouble you for it.”
So there you go, you’re not the only one.
(By the way, I don’t like Orbán.)

Why don’t you like our ( I wish ) Mr Orban, out of interest? I just go by what I read, however, I have no real in-depth knowledge of the politics of Hungary, but he generally ticks all the right boxes and holds the right views across all contexts, from what I’ve seen. I’d give the guy a medal just for standing up to Brussels, to be honest. He’s a rare politician who isn’t all patter but walks the walk.

Putin’s ready to fight but UK isn’t, as figures show stark reality of our forces ‘It is not that the Government doesn’t understand. It understands perfectly well…..We are choosing not to respond to the risks as we see them, because we want to spend the money on other things…..It is not a matter of affordability or intelligence or understanding. It is a matter of will.” General Sir Richard Barrons ‘We are not ready. If we are not ready, we cannot deter.’ Lord Robertson Defence is expensive. But it’s a lot cheaper than war. We know what to do. We have done it before. It works. To deter, Britain requires a conventional deterrent on land in Europe: armoured divisions. Large quantities of APCs/IFVs/MBTs from wherever, as soon as possible, would appear to be the answer: ‘The threat from enemy FPVs means that tanks and infantry fighting vehicles must be concealed and ideally dug in, usually within 3 km of the frontline if they are assigned to combat roles. Because of the high latency of FPV sorties, armoured fighting vehicles tend to sally forwards from these hides to engage in direct-fire missions to break up enemy assault actions. The vehicles then return… Read more »

The really alarming thing is that many of us have been saying the above since the annexation of Crimea in 2014.

It appeared to be blindingly obvious to many of us who had stalked the East German border in the 1970s that Putin would go again, just as the USSR attacked, successively, in 1956 and 1968.

And, by scrapping net zero, we could reinstate our conventional land deterrent.

But we will not….and that is very, very dangerous…..for us all…..

Well maybe, but the real threat to our nation is the government in Westminster and their insanely destructive policies, a big army won’t be any use resisting that at least not with the cucked general staff we have.

If they had some balls they could at least invade Westminster shell the BBC, and broadcast some decent martial music instead of the usual radio 4 sh!te play for the day etc ad infinitum

Anyone ever listened or watched Gary ‘I made lots of money once’ Stevenson? Is he high or what? Never never heard such a garbled salad of self justifying crud being treated as wisdom in my life. Zack Polanski probably quotes him.
“I made lots of money as I know the system while I was sleeping on friends sofas in me Mums attic to make livin’ while billionaires don’t pay tax to people and single Mums trying to make ends meet and school breakfasts..”
Off his head.

The other day, I watched an old Dr Who remade old programme on BBC4 – about 90 minutes. It was a “Sea Devils” episode. Quite amusing, given the old odds & ends in the production. The supposed secret Navy base was called “Seaspite”, but there was no Master Bates on duty, as far I could tell. Probably quite a few old programmes that wouldn’t make it when the script is reviewed before production these days.

DELIBERATE DUSTRUCTION OF FARMING

• National Trust (NT) shifts from farming to rewilding at Elf Hills, ending 250 years of farming heritage.

• NT falsely claims this will combat climate change, but it will instead harm farming.
• Farmers criticise NT’s policies, arguing they are unsustainable and ignore the need for food production.
• The Planning and Infrastructure Bill threatens private land ownership, giving councils unlimited power to seize land for development.

Contact all politicians, media, and friends.
Tell them that Net Zero is completely unacceptable.
CO2 is only 0.04% of the atmosphere
and is vital to all life on Earth.

Thought I’d lighten the grim long winded in depth headlines today

“You couldn’t make it up”

Not only ‘Fond a lying’ harping on about freedom to protest in Europe (and then swiftly arresting the protestor) but here’s a gem from Seattle in the US, the gay pride football tournament being hosted by fifa has drawn Egypt and Iran to play the first match, homosexuallity is illegal in both countries!?

This turned up today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ikd3HdJn_64&list=WL&index=4 by J Campbell. It’s kind of reassuring that not much has changed over the years re confusion between cause, effect, co-incidence, and statistical manipulation to promote one thing or another.
