Swiss Man Jailed After Saying Women and Men Have Different Skeletons

A man from Switzerland has been handed a prison sentence for posting a comment on Facebook in which he said that skeletons can only be male or female. The Telegraph has more.

Emanuel Brünisholz was convicted of hate speech and fined by a court in the Swiss canton of Bern over the Facebook post, which also suggested that trans people were mentally ill.

When he refused to pay the fine, Brünisholz was instead sentenced to 10 days in prison and began his sentence on Tuesday.

He said in a Facebook post: “If you excavate LGBTQI [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex] people after 200 years, you will only find men and women among the skeletons; everything else is a mental illness that was fostered by the curriculum!”

The post was sent on to Swiss police, who summoned Brünisholz for questioning on suspicion of incitement of hatred, according to the Swiss newspaper Inside Paradeplatz.

A transcript of Brünisholz’s interrogation shows that he was incredulous about the accusation and kept laughing while answering the officers’ questions.

After confirming he wrote the post, Brünisholz was convicted of discrimination and incitement to hatred by the Emmental-Oberaargau regional court and fined 500 Swiss francs (£460).

According to Brünisholz, he refused to pay the fine and instead was required to serve a 10-day prison sentence in what he viewed as a violation of his free speech rights.

He did not launch an appeal against the verdict because his lawyer felt it would be “hopeless”. In addition to the fine, he must pay 800 Swiss francs (£740) in legal costs.

Brünisholz, a brass instrument maker, said that his comment about skeletons being only male or female was a biological fact, and therefore could not be a form of hate speech. …

But Brünisholz’s suggestion that transgender people were mentally ill may have been what drew the ire of Swiss authorities, as it is illegal in Switzerland to “publicly denigrate” a person based on their sexual orientation. …

The case was brought to the attention of UK free speech campaigners this week after Brünisholz contacted Graham Linehan, the Irish comedian and writer of Father Ted.

“I am fully prepared to go to prison, if that is what it takes to expose the absurdity and authoritarianism of the trans ideology that has now taken root in Switzerland,” Brünisholz said in a message that Linehan published on his X account.

He added: “I intend to face it with good humour; I will not let myself be bent or broken by those who hope to silence me through pressure or intimidation. That, after all, is their aim: to wear me down until I fall quiet. I have no intention of doing so.”

As I wrote in another comment in the past: The traditional German words for mental illness are Wahnsinn and Irrsinn. Sinn, literal meaning sense, as used here, refers to one’s opinions. A Wahn is a (feverish) belief in the existence of something which actually doesn’t exist and Irr means demonstrably erroneous. Considering this, how shall we describe bearded and penissed entity which claims to be a woman? And since when is such a belief a sexual orientation?

Quite so. A delusion is not an orientation.

A belief to have a gender of a certain kind isn’t a sexual orientation, completely regardless of what else it is.

Yes exactly. For instance, you get women who have their breasts removed so they might survive cancer, then you get women who have perfectly healthy breasts removed ( and this is without considering the cross-sex hormones they often go on to take for further ruination of their bodies ) because they want to identify as some made up creation. Self-harm by proxy, the extreme version. 🙁 If this doesn’t equate to mental illness I don’t know what does. I’ll bet many end up experiencing ‘buyer’s remorse’ years down the line;

”Japanese singer comes out as ‘AFAB Transmasculine non-binary’ after having her breasts cut off and shaving her hair.

20 year old Cocona from the girlband XG announced she had undergone top surgery so she can be ‘more masculine.’

“I was born and perceived as female, but that label never represented who I truly am. I live in a way that feels more masculine and true to who I am.”

Hats off to Mr Brünisholz for resisting the emerging totalitarian state.
We know what this is all about: the spiritual destruction of people by forcing them to repeat a lie.
Everybody knows there are only two genders and transgenderism is a form of mental illness. They know it and we know it. But in order to control you, they need you to give up your personal integrity and feel powerless enough to repeat a lie.
As we found out during the Covid crisis: it we don’t need more than a few percent of people ti be brave enough to say no and they can’t do it.

There aren’t two genders. Unless you take gender to mean sex (as many people have in the past). ‘Gender’ is a deceptive term because it is defined differently by different groups – it may mean ‘sex role related stereotype’ or it may mean ‘how I feel within myself today’ – if the latter, there are more than two possible genders and the word has no utility whatsoever and is best avoided.

Used properly, gender is a property of nouns and there can be more than two. Three different genders exist in German: Male, female and neutral and this has no relation to what a noun actually describes. For instance, saw – die Säge -is female, hammer – der Hammer – male and wooden board – das Brett – neutral.

Humans are sexually reproducing mammals and have one of two sexes if they’re normally developed.

And even if they’re not, chromosomes are binary in all but extremely rare cases.

If you mean “gender” in the grammatical sense, then yes, in some languages, such as Latin, German, Russian there are more than two genders. In some languages there are two and in some languages, such as my native language, there are none. Zilch, nada.
If you mean biological gender, then there are only two and no amount of sophistry, clever arguments or post-modernist deconstructionslism, social construct ideological nonsense will change that fact.
If you mean “some people are confused about their gender”, then yes, I accept that some are and it’s not a sign of psychological health, but just because they are suffering from delusional thoughts, that doesn’t change reality. Hey, some people think they are Napoleon. I’m not joining them in their Russian campaign.

The reason they put “Gender” on forms to establish people’s sex is to stop childish people (like me!) from putting Yes please! in the “Sex” column.

I notice that the case was heard in the Emmental regional court. It is highly likely, therefore, that the prosecution case was full of holes.

Since when is saying that someone is mentally ill an insult or a denigrating?

So when a psychiatrist diagnoses someone with a mental illness, they’re insulting the patient?

I happen to genuinely think that a person who believes themselves to be a different t sex to the one they are born with is suffering from a mental affliction. I don’t mean it as an insult, I mean it as an honest observation. To me it seems quite similar to other personality disorders.

Now I suppose I could be wrong. I don’t think I am. But will I get arrested for an honest opinion?

Using the example in question, you might get arrested if someone is seriously pissed off by something you said and the authorities are sympathetic to that someone and you might then get charged with and possibly, convicted of a perfectly random crime which seems suitable to someone. Someone who claims that men who believe to be women are mentally ill isn’t denigrating anyone because of a sexual orientation. They could as well have accused him of being unvaccinated against climate change.

Slapping the label “mentally ill” on people may not be insulting but it degrades their lives in various ways. It seems to me that transgenderism is due to a malign influence of some sort, probably not originating within the person with the delusion.

It is usually wisest not to make an admission that could be a necessary factor for your prosecution.

That’s not going to help much when the idea is to punish you for legal-but-harmful wrongthink using some random law.
