National Lottery Community Fund Madness

Something I regularly find in my research is examples of the National Lottery funding odious projects. Indeed, I have previously touched upon this for the Daily Sceptic. Today I wanted to home in on the particularly awful National Lottery Community Fund (TNLCF), which I often find awarding grants to far Left projects. One of the worst examples is the TNLCF funding The Common Knowledge, a company that has worked with Momentum, Progressive International (which boasts Jeremy Corbyn as Co-General Coordinator) and Novara Media – to give you an idea of its political leanings.

To add, I’m not about to completely disparage TNLCF, as it does support many worthy projects – for instance, awarding funds to British Sign Language for ALL, “Therapeutic activities for young people with complex needs” and Homeless Elders Housing Project. However, nestled among these are more ideological grants. By this I mainly mean ones that promote identity politics, the idea of a ‘climate emergency’ and the international community’s needs over Brits. These are common themes when it comes to public funding, something that will hardly please increasingly cash-strapped Brits. Without further ado, a sample of examples below:

Who will stop this – the Tories had 14 years just in their most recent stint but didn’t do it.

Yes, Here’s another suggestion – if one doesn’t want to soil one’s undergarments, concentrate on the job in hand and leave the Mobile in the handbag or pocket.

These are not small amounts. 20K to organise a pride event. I wonder how much they spend on right wing events.

One of the main reasons I don’t play.

The other being the stupid breakdown of prize money – £millions and millions for the jackpot, but then stupidly less for 5 numbers (plus or minus bonus). Too heavily weighted towards the jackpot.

City of Sanctuary? What a load of nonsense. Why would a “Sanctuary” have nearly 100 “peace” walls to keep locals apart – that’s the original Christian locals who’ve had a few issues over the years……
