Trump Will Sue BBC for Up to £5 Billion Despite Apology

Donald Trump has said he will sue the BBC for up to $5 billion over its “defamatory” editing of his January 6th speech despite the apology the corporation issued on Thursday. The Mail has more.

The British Broadcasting Corporation sent a personal apology to the US President on Thursday but said there was no legal basis for him to sue the public broadcaster over a documentary his lawyers called defamatory.

After the BBC refused the total capitulation demanded by the US President, Trump told GB News that he had an “obligation” to take legal action in a fiery interview.

“I’m not looking to get into lawsuits, but I think I have an obligation to do it. This was so egregious,” he told GB News’s Bev Turner.

“If you don’t do it, you don’t stop it from happening again with other people.”

Trump also confirmed to journalists outside the White House on Friday that he planned to formally seek damages, saying: “We’ll sue them from anywhere between $1 billion and $5 billion, probably sometime next week.

“I think I have to do it,” he added.

The President had thrown down the gauntlet to the broadcaster with a deadline of 10pm on Thursday.

He had vowed to sue unless he got a full retraction, grovelling apology and offer of compensation for misleading Panorama viewers with an edit of his speech before the January 6th Capitol riot.

Speaking of discovery.

BBC Daily Politics 13/07/18.

Clip of Trump: Boris would make a great PM.
Jo Coburn: Trump said Boris would make a better PM than May.

Thankfully no diplomatic incident during his state visit to the UK.

Gorgeous Bev Turner has the ear of Donald Trump. It doesn’t get much better. Absolutely wonderful.

I find it interesting how people view Trump as some kind of ignorant oaf when he’s so obviously really smart – the fact that he talks informally like a normal human being and doesn’t use weasel politician words makes people think he’s a dummy. I think this interview is an example of that.

It’s amusing to see media folk criticising the BBC Trump footage “even though Trump is so awful,” when their opinion of Trump was built entirely from what they saw on the BBC from 2016

Likewise “BBC reporting from Gaza was dishonest, though none of us approves of the genocide.”

Likewise “the reality of climate change is no excuse for the BBC bias.”

I enjoyed him on Joe Rogan just before the election. He spent three hours chatting. Not a perfect man, sometimes a braggart, but not the devil. He’s slightly different when on stage. By contrast Kamala wouldn’t have managed even 30 mins without a script.

I don’t know what to think about his economic decisions, but I’m very pleased he’s giving DEI a kicking and I was impressed by Doge.

It’s interesting how the left can find absolutely nothing wrong with Joe Biden’s out-to-lunch presidency: the clear mental incapacity covered up by everyone; the laptop; the autopen; the blanket 10-year pardon of fauci for any and everything he might have done did.

But no, DJT is pure evil.

Not sure too many people left who think he’s dumb. Most people who dislike him have transitioned from buffoon to Hitler.

Yes there may be some truth in that.

The leftists media did the same with Reagan. They shape the publics world view on everything. I get friends and family of mine calling Trump ” A fuc..ing idiot” because they have been brainwashed into this kind of thinking.

Everybody seems to forget he’s a businessman not a politician. It seems to me that American Presidents that come up through the ranks of politics are always tainted in some way. Whereas the ones that start life as something else, Reagan for instance, seem to have a much more ‘can do’ attitude.

Successful too – yes he started from a good base but lots of businesses have been run into the ground by the descendants of those who founded them.

Bev is indeed gorgeous, but I think her gorgeousness comes from a combination of her being intelligent, articulate, not ideologically aligned and not prepared to just regurgitate officialdoms world view, as well as being easy on the eye with a great figure.

Perhaps Tommy should forward a link to his Panodrama documentary to Trump’s lawyers? The BBC has form – and plenty of it. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9778170/

Thank you Donald Trump. Sue the backside off the BBC. I’m going to enjoy this. If nothing else it’s the process.

Marvellous news. What a great story that could bubble for months and just imagine all the rest of the lies and doctoring that will be unearthed.

Whatever the result al-Beeb will be completely undermined worldwide as a result of this action. Every story – “trusted news innit?” 😀😀😀

Nowhere to hide. Stick the knife in deep Donald and keep twisting.

Dr Phil would concur, as would I. Take the corrupt, woke, lying gits to the cleaners. I’m not even in the country and I’d get immense satisfaction out of that. 🙂 ”It isn’t that @BBC made a series of mistakes. It isn’t even that it’s biased. My God, we’re way beyond all that stuff. The real problem is that producers and presenters see themselves in grandiose moral terms. Their duty (as they understand it) is to misrepresent and undermine Trump at every turn, with nothing off limits. After all, they’re literally dealing with Hitler – right? Information is never just information: content is always geared towards activism. It’s draining to watch because you have to constantly filter the messaging just to get at the scraps of news and entertainment. I don’t want the rigmarole, so I don’t watch. I won’t be told what’s good for me, nor will I have any truck with a worldview that is away with the fairies. Their truth is not my truth. Why? Because it bears no relation to THE truth. I hope Trump does sue. I can’t think of anything more fitting than the orange man putting the… erm… envy of the world out… Read more »

Exactly my thoughts.
I hope this will drag on for months and the BBC will sink further and further into a big pile of stinking ordure, their lies propaganda exposed, until there is nothing left just embarrassment.
In my books, they have no credit left.

Not sure what material damages he can claim. He won the election.

But it’s probably a win win. If he wins, he hurts the BBC financially. If he loses it will look like the system doesnt work because everyone can see how egregious it was and it will look like the BBC can make anything up and get away with it.

It is amusing to see all of the progressive people (why is left wing always called progressive???), spluttering that an apology has been given, isn’t that enough. No it bloody well isn’t. I can just imagine how the discussion went, let’s apologise, even though we don’t mean a word of it and the thick oaf will walk away, while we can bask in our amazing genius, because we are the most wonderful people on the planet. I want to see them all dragged into a court room, with a decent American investigating law firm presenting every lie they have told, presented as fact over the last couple of decades. This might finally get all of their deceit into the public arena, whether political, climate, whatever.

Al-beeb are screwed if this goes to court:

If they don’t try to defend the organisation – screwed / guilty by default and a worldwide laughing stock.

If they do try to defend the organisation even more dirt will be unearthed and doubly screwed.

Im so pleased I could eat a chip 😀😀😀

It may be the only way to stop BBC News and its current affairs programs from their lies, propaganda, bias, omissions of the truth and the blatant censorship of anyone who tries to correct their mistakes.

Something that the excellent Dr North on Turb Times has turned up is that in Florida you can sue for ‘punitive damges’ which is to punsih to deter future failures. With this Donald would just have to show what the BBC was deliberate which we all know it was and the newly discovered Newsnight stitch up helps no end with this.

Chopper Chope of GBN had a former Tory John Whittingdale drivelling on about any fine should not be paid from licence money. There is just income into the BBC.

I am sure the Donald would pay any damages, after his legal expenses, to a British charity. The only problem is which British charity is not super woke and paying their top staff more than the PM.

The sheer arrogance or myopia (take your pick) of the BBC is summed up in it’s very apology to Trump. To use the word, “unintentionally” to to beggar belief, and is yet another example of its. egregious dissembling of the truth. The discovery that they did more or less the same thing two years earlier on Newsnight reveals the “hit job” stitch up”. Unintentionally”, my arse! Even when ‘fessing up they continue to lie and treat the public and their plaintiffs as fools, with no shame.

I can’t see how they can get out of this one.

Yes, it’s like people who pretend to apologize by saying, “I’m sorry if YOU FEEL that I insulted you…” , as if it’s all in your imagination, and they are entirely innocent, but just humouring you.

I believe the entire annual BBC budget is £5.4 billion. So if he wins all the licence fees of the entire population end up.in Trump’s bank account and no more BBC! However, meanwhile back on planet Earth…

One of the many excellent benefits of this current ph**k-up by the Beeb is that they have had to stop running that vomit-inducing self-congratulatory advert on both Radio 4 and the television, in which various reporters around the world preach to the audience about how wonderful they are in spending every waking hour working to bring you “The Truth” and in ensuring you are not misled by bad actors and “misinformation”. I am sure the ignorant morons in BBC Very Iffy feature in it somewhere. I think it ends with Clive Myrie saying how brilliant they are in keeping “our BBC” on the straight and narrow. They can’t run it any longer owing to hubris and the knowledge that they are now the laughing stock of the entire media world. Serves them right. I hope they are sued into oblivion; no-one except the Wokerati and the terminally insane will miss them.
