BBC Doctored Trump Speech, Internal Report Reveals
The BBC doctored a Donald Trump speech by making him appear to encourage the Capitol Hill riot, according to an internal whistleblowing memo. The Telegraph has the story.
A Panorama programme, broadcast a week before the US election, “completely misled” viewers by showing the President telling supporters he was going to walk to the Capitol with them to “fight like hell”, when in fact he said he would walk with them “to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard”.
The “mangled” footage was highlighted in a 19-page dossier on BBC bias, which was compiled by a recent member of the corporation’s standards committee and is now circulating in Government departments.
The dossier said the programme made the US President “‘say’ things [he] never actually said” by splicing together footage from the start of his speech with something he said nearly an hour later.
It claimed senior executives and the BBC’s chairman had ignored and dismissed a string of serious complaints raised by the corporation’s own standards watchdog.
The Telegraph will soon publish other excerpts of the memo, which accuse the BBC’s Arabic service of bias over its coverage of the war in Gaza, and accuse the corporation of “effective censorship” of its coverage of the transgender debate.
The document raises serious questions about the culture at the BBC, how it affects impartiality and how managers including Tim Davie, the Director-General, are accused of turning a blind eye to evidence of bias.
The most damaging disclosures involve a one-hour Panorama special called Trump: A Second Chance? that was broadcast in October last year.
As well as altering Mr Trump’s words, the documentary also showed flag-waving men marching on the Capitol in Washington DC on January 6th 2021 after the President spoke, which “created the impression Trump’s supporters had taken up his ‘call to arms’”. In fact the footage, was shot before Mr Trump had even started speaking.
The report said Panorama’s “distortion of the day’s events” was so egregious that viewers would ask: “Why should the BBC be trusted, and where will this all end?”
When the issue was raised with managers, they “refused to accept there had been a breach of standards”. The report’s author then warned Samir Shah, the BBC chairman, of the “very, very dangerous precedent” set by Panorama but received no reply.
The internal whistleblower sent a copy of the 19-page letter to every member of the BBC Board last month.
Worth reading in full.
The Telegraph has printed the text of an internal memo sent to BBC managers:
The spliced together version of Trump’s comments aired by Panorama made it seem that he said: “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be with you and we fight. We fight like hell and if you don’t fight like hell, you’re not gonna have a country anymore.”
In reality, the first part of Trump’s speech: “We’re gonna walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be with you,” came 15 minutes into the speech. The second half of the sentence that was aired by Panorama, “and we fight. We fight like hell…” came 54 minutes later.
Fifteen minutes into the speech, Trump actually said: “We are gonna walk down to the Capitol and I’ll be with you. I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”
It was completely misleading to edit the clip in the way Panorama aired it. The fact that he did not explicitly exhort supporters to go down and fight at Capitol Hill was one of the reasons there were no federal charges for incitement to riot.
That was not the end of Panorama’s distortion of the day’s events.
On January 6th 2021, the so-called Proud Boys, Trump’s supporters, marched to Capitol Hill before Trump started speaking.

Lies and trickery from the BBC.
Time to cancel your TV licence? If you haven’t already….
Did after Sachsgate.
It is very least we can all do. Action is far more effective than words that are as water off a ducks back to the BBC executive. If people continue to pay to be propagandised they will continue with their agenda just as the establishment parties continue with theirs if people are silly enough to engage in establishment party, musical chair voting.
I can’t see how they can (should) survive this.
Oh they will, it’ll be an “editing error”. The whole organisation is totally compromised.
The unbiased and politically neutral BBC intentionally misrepresented someone they hate??
Tell me it ain’t so…
A BBC spokesperson said, “Viewers can rest assured BBC Verify and the BBC Trusted News Initiative have been intimately involved right from the start.”
Defund the British Broadcasting Commentariat.
It’s all well & good the Telegraph reporting this, but until BBC Verify, verify it then it’s just misinformation. Or something like that.
Shock
The entire body of BBC context is doctored to push sone narrative or other.
Well, we know the narratives. NetZero or die, Trans is great, gays are great, minorities are great, whites and straight people are entitled bigots. Women are.oppressed. Men benefit.from.systemic bias. Immigration is great, we can’t get.enough of it. Opponents of immigration are exteme right wing (i.e. Nazis, but they’re too elegant and proper to spell it out) etc..
Saying the BBC doctored a Trump speech is like saying Genghis Khan sexually molested a woman.
You forgot Palestine is good but Israel is BAD, and Harris, Biden and Obama are good but Trump is BAD
Let’s start with all visas of BBC staff cancelled and given 48 hours to leave the country. Looking forward to Bev Turner’s show at midnight.
Trump does stuff. —–Our parasite Political Class do NOTHING. —-Except handwring and squirm. —–We are forced to pay for the British Brainwashing Corporation that indoctrinates, misleads, lies and omits to report on stuff they don’t think we should hear about.
Interesting to look at the psychology of the few gainsayers in the Telegraph comments.
One said he didn’t trust the Telegraph’s reporting since they gave space to “climate deniers.” Don’t look at the evidence – look at how much unconnected stories don’t fit your own prejudices.
Another said that it didn’t matter because everything Trump says is a lie – not only saying that it’s OK for the BBC to lie if Trump does, but that we know Trump always tells lies because the BBC has shown footage just as authentic as their Panorama edit.
The problem is that until one refuses even to switch BBC sources on, somehow the assumption remains that it’s mostly true.
” … somehow the assumption remains that it is mostly true.”
Jon you have nailed it. The BBC is poison going into you through your ears and eyes. And like good poison you don’t feel it. The only protection is never watch or listen to anything on the BBC. Those who think they can sort fact from fiction are wrong.
Defund the commie bastards.
Election interference. Extradite. Prosecute. Incarcerate.
The BBC acted as puppets to spread what was obviously a globalist-coordinated fake narrative (cf. climate change existential threat, Covid safe and effective jabs) to smear Trump. In the USA it went so far as to lead to impeachment proceedings against Trump.
Whistle blown by one of their own. Deserve everything that comes to them.
<insert “mild shock” meme>
Most people won’t know about this unless they watch GB News. —I recorded an hour of SKY News to see if they reported it but as I expected there was not a peep. The consolidated media are anti Trump and they indulge in Narrative Control and often simply omit to mention stuff they feel will interfere with that.
This is beyond unforgiveable!
Would it be possible for Trump to sue the corporation for defamation?
I pray he will
Licence payers pay.
The BBC is a malign and corrupt organisation no longer adhering to its charter. It should be closed down or all those involved in this political influencing to say the least mis/ dis information should be dismissed. All of which will be unnecessary if President Trump sues the pants off them.
Oh I’m shocked and suprised that “our” BBC should behave like that. I expect it was entirely accidental.
Who scripted the episode? Who was the editor? Who was the producer? Who ultimately signed this off before broadcast? There are people behind the ‘facade’ that is BBC news and current affairs. This is willful propaganda and misrepresentation by the state broadcaster.
This is the most significant vote of confidence President Trump could possibly have. A wonderful example of the fake news that plagues him – and it’s blown up in the subversives’ scheming faces. Good.
It’s really hitting the fan now ….. the Arabic service is accused of spreading Hamas lies around the world. Fancy!
While that is true, I doubt it will have little effect, given that the vast majority of the British population seem to be unable to exercise any degree of independent thought when it comes to MSM reporting. It’s much easier just to sit back and be spoonfed propaganda without exercising the “little grey cells”.
Just been to lunch with ex work colleagues don’t know how it happened but the conversation got around to Mr T! I happened to say “sounds like you’ve got TDS” to which the reply was “TDS what’s that?!” I said “not to worry look it up”. Mike kept on guessing so eventually I gave way and told him. To which his response was total TDS!!! Never seen him shake before he went completely mental, he’s normally a very level headed bloke although is a Lib/Dem. I kept on asking him about how bad Blair and Starmer are but of course he ignored that. The powers that be have done a good job of pulling the wool over people’s eyes.
