Jewish Lawyer is Questioned by Police Over Wearing a Star of David Necklace That “Antagonised” Pro-Palestinian Protesters During Demo
A Jewish lawyer has been quizzed by police for wearing a Star of David necklace at a Kensington protest, with officers claiming it “antagonised” pro-Palestinian demonstrators. The Mail has more.
Officers quizzed the man at Hammersmith Police Station in West London over the silver 2cm Judaic symbol after he was arrested for alleged Public Order breaches on August 29th.
At one point, the questioning detective says officers noted in their statements that they believed the “presence” of the Star of David could cause “offence” to those who had gathered at the protest.
The lawyer, a man in his 40s, was arrested outside the Israeli embassy in Kensington, where a pro-Palestine march had descended that evening.
He claims to have been acting as an independent spectator, watching the protest for illegal behaviour by participants and to observe how police responded to challenges on the ground.
However, the Metropolitan Police say he had allegedly “gone beyond observing to provoking” pro-Palestinian supporters and was arrested on suspicion of violating conditions that had been put in place to keep opposing protest groups apart.
The man was then reportedly detained for nearly 10 hours at the station before being released at around 4.30am the following day.
The Met say their investigation into the incident is continuing, but the lawyer – who has chosen to remain anonymous over fears for his safety – has accused the police of trying to “criminalise the wearing of a Star of David”. …
Footage of the police interview shows the detective asking the man what necklace he was wearing, later adding that officers in their statements believed that the Star of David being on show was “antagonising” the situation further.
The man’s defence labelled the officer’s statements as “ignorant” and said he had a “great deal of concern” with the line of questioning.
The detective said he did not want to offend by asking the question, adding that it was not a question about the man wearing the Star of David generally but in a “very niche environment where tensions are high”. …
The arrested lawyer says he has witnessed dozens of instances of alleged criminal behaviour while observing pro-Palestine protests, during which he claims to have been labelled a “baby killer”.
He said that those chants going unpunished, while he is questioned over his wearing of the Star of David, is “one of the clearest example of two-tier policing you will ever see”, and denies any wrongdoing on the night he was arrested.

Our police have ceased to fit for purpose.
Ghod the plods are thick.
That was my conclusion too.
No, it’s worse than that.
This is not just ignorance.
The guy conducting the police interview is not stupid. He knows exactly what he’s doing.
I think you’re right.
Thick or cowards and bullies?
They seem to be very assertive with small groups of people and individuals but are permissive of large groups, going so far in some cases as to kneel and beg for mercy.
It is hard to have any respect for them these days.
Possibly just lazy. It’s much less effort to arrest one person than lots of goons who might turn violent at the sight of a Star of David.
The UK police are all Dhimmitard/Islam whores, example number 2,758. This case reminds me of the Iranian dissenter: Niyak Ghorbani, who regularly attends these hatefest muppet marches and holds his ”Hamas is a terrorist organization” sign and has now been arrested 12 times, and counting. All for peacefully holding a factually correct sign. Why on earth should he, or this Jewish lawyer, be punished just because a bunch of hostile, rabid psychos cannot control themselves? A point well made here, because it’s exactly like we’re seeing with the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans ban. The police are effectively demonstrating with their behaviour that they can’t ( or won’t ) do their jobs because they’re totally compromised;
”What’s the difference between (1) forcing women to stay at home or wear a burka to protect them from predatory men that can’t control their urges to sexually assault them & (2) forcing football fans to stay at home to protect them from predatory men that can’t control their urges to violently assault Jews? The civilised answer is not to hide away the potential victims but to restrain the potential attackers.”

Unacceptable.
Jewish lawyer arrested outside the Israeli embassy not for walking on the cracks in the pavement and looking at a police officer in a funny way, but for wearing the wrong sort of necklace. With apologies to Not the Nine O’clock News.
Whatever happened to Constable Savage of the SPG?
This is what happens when the Muslim population reaches critical mass and their influence on society starts becoming painfully obvious.
It’s the result of years of appeasement. Give them an inch and they take a mile. And now there’s so many of them in positions of power and influence that I think the UK is royally screwed. And remember, this is with them only making up 6.5% of the population. I know it’s not the best to put all your eggs in one basket but I think you’ve just got to hope that if/when Reform get in power that they make some radical changes, but I’m 100% convinced there’ll be no ”mass deportations”. This is all just talking tough to garner votes, but what viable other opposition party is there? Easy to say the words, but not so easy to deliver on your promise.
Whenever Muslims move to a new country, they use the same strategy:
“When I am weaker than you, I ask you for freedom because that is according to your principles; when I am stronger than you, I take away your freedom because that is according to my principles.”

Yes, indeed. If we afforded them the exact same rights and treatment here that they afford Christians in Muslim countries then we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. Nobody would want to come. They want everybody else to live as their dhimmis but they’re not overly keen about that treatment being doled out to them. Tolerance is very much a one-way street with these dratted lot.
”Pro-Palestinian city is a code for Islamic city. These people are openly taking over regions of England now and enforcing laws and policies based on their religious sentimentalities.
They already said a while back, that they will use the systems of the West to bring about the age of Islam in Britain. The Dawah boys of 5pillars constantly work on it.
Britain has gone down a very dark route, all of it could have been avoided.”

If Israel can build a wall round Gaza, even though it was breached on Oct 7, then we can build a wall round parts of Birmingham, Leicester etc and let them live the way they want to live if no country will take millions of British citizens.
Make sure to remove all benefit offices within the walls.
He was clearly known to be one of the marchers protesting against the pro-palestinian, therefore it would not be surprising for him to be wearing things that were special to his religio.
The question I have to ask is whether the ones who were offended were wearing something pro-palestinian that might have offended him. Like a bl**dy great banner or one of the teatowel thingies round their head/shoulders.
It seems anti-palestinian protestors must be treated particularly carefully and not upset, but us gammon are easy targets for every bit of hatred that they care to direct our way.
Jews are not violent, vicious rioters so they can be treated badly by plod. No repercussions.
Exactly. When you need them they’re nowhere to be seen, when you don’t need them they’re arresting you.

No doubt the Star of David antagonised the pro Hamas goons but freedom of expression has to include the freedom to upset/antagonise people.
Along with banning Maccabi fans from the Aston Villa match this is another example of the police giving in to mob rule. Obviously it was a lot easier for them to arrest one person than risk having to arrest loads of antagonised people who may of turned violent.
Presumably the Met have passed a law determining that the Star of David worn as a personal ornament, or heaven forbid a statement of faith is now illegal?
I see.
Maybe he was arrested by the fashion police. Does he not know that the Star of David is “like totally uncool man and so yesterday” and the keffiyeh is now the must have fashion accessory?
Of course, silly me.😀
It could be argued that we are at a point in which the police don’t just fail to uphold law and order but are actively undermining it.
They don’t have the guts to deal with grooming gangs. They bow down to rioters claiming to be fighting for racial equality. So if you show enough strength and power, the police stand down.
But if you are an individual praying to yourself or arguing with a group of protestors or posting in social media, all well within the bounds of legality, a whole gang of them will descend on you to arrest you and intimidate you
That is not how you defend law and order, I’m afraid.
The plod doing the questioning was an utter disgrace and deliberately seeking to trap the accused.
“Can you see how your wearing of the Star of David could lead to someone taking offence?”
This copper is an insult to the people of this country. I find his approach, his tone, his manner, offensive. Can we have him arrested?
Option 1
The police have become so emasculated and weak that they will always follow the path of least resistance. Arresting one man instead of trying to control a crowd is just easier for them, regardless of right and wrong.
Option 2
The Collage of Policing has so indoctrinated and radicalised the police that they are now quite happy to arrest anyone they don’t like, regardless of the law.
It’s probably both, but either way this lawyer should sue them for wrongful arrest.
We desperately need a Trump style leader who will drive a bulldozer through all this nonsense, including abolishing The Collage of Policing. I think Farage is the last chance, otherwise there will be revolution.
This is just unbelievable, like the Christian NHS nurses legally harassed for wearing even a small cross at work…
The same thing has also happened to a British Airways employee who visibly wore a small cross while on the check in desk.
There has to be dress codes so people look smart and professional but surely these can include one small item of jewellery of cultural or religious significance.
I am a Christian and wear a cross. Will I be arrested for causing offence?
