“Manchester synagogue attack was a cannabis-smoking university dropout who cheated on his wife”
You see, the police have told us that the word “Jihad” has many different interpretations.
Clearly, the interpretation of this individual was not “spiritual struggle for purity”.
Funny how these guys so despise the moral corruption of the West too.
I see we’re back to the scaremongering about electric vehicles and Tesla again. According to Grok, there are upwards of 5,000 people who die in car fires every year throughout the world. How come none of these makes it to the Daily Sceptic headlines? EV fires account for about 20 deaths a year, Tesla being around 7.
Do we have an editor who is fervently anti-EV?
Scepticism should be applied to both sides of any stories.
China appears to have the highest proportion of EVs in the world; they have about 20M plug-ins compared to Europe with half that number.
Do you really think that Chinese combustion of EVs is going to be reported accurately in the West, let alone fatalities ensuing, when they want to sell us their products?
They other difficulty with the statistics is that many car fires are as a result of crashes, where as EVs seen to have a propensity for self-combustion.
You haven’t addressed my post. Why aren’t the petrol diesel car fire deaths reported here?
There are far more ice cars on the road than evs, that’s one reason theres more ice car fires.
The cause of these fires are important too, the biggest cause is deliberate arson (eg joy riders) evs are not at the top of the list for joy riders!
Crashes are the next biggest cause, more ice cars, more ice cars involved in crashes.
Self combustion is rare in all cars.
Then theres serverity, ice cars are much easier to extinguish than evs because they are not chemical metal fires involving batteries that go into thermal runaway that provide there own oxygen and fuel even under water.
Ice fire are less dangerous to the environment, eg polluted water run off from fire fighting attempts and poisonous off gasing from batteries.
The serverity of ev fires compared to ice fires is what needs to be talked about not the number of fires, any fire involving an ev is going to be far more difficult to address irrelevant of what caused the fire.
These are facts not scaremongering!
You’re avoiding the question.
I have no idea about the beliefs of the editor and only the editor could answer your question! Please ask the editor.
As for being locked in a car during a fire/emergency, the existence of electrical only operated locks spans many drive trains not just evs but Tesla has fitted them to all their models with no external mechanical way to open the door from the outside should the occupants be incapacitated.
I think small, cheap (not Chinese) EVs have a place, i.e. urban commuting, but they are in essence just white goods. Luxury EVs are totally pointless, and are a major financial liability when depreciation and battery health are taken into account.
I suppose attitudes also depend on how much of a “car person” one is. A far better system would have been to introduce small EVs with universal interchangeable batteries that could be swapped out in minutes, even if that gave the vehicle a very small range. Most commuters/people popping to the shops don’t need significant range.
The market has spoken.
Ice cars don’t lock you in!
Cars with lots of unnecessary electronics might!
So all the petrol and diesel car fire deaths were of people who couldn’t be bothered to get out?
The age distribution of ICE cars compared with EVs is significantly different. There are, of course, far more old ICE cars in use than old EVs. Older cars are more likely to have had inappropriate modifications – ‘popping’ exhausts springs to mind – which may increase the fire risk. Who knows what hacks may be made to older EVs to make them go faster, or longer or more excitingly? We don’t see many amateur customisations of cars still under manufacturers warranty.
There are so many new EV manufacturers which have popped up recently – invariably Chinese, and I do worry about the longevity of these companies and the support that might be available for buyers in the longer term. I fear many might have bought vehicles they will never manage to sell. A look at Fiskers on Auto Trader speaks volumes. Even new EVs are being offered as “used” with delivery mileage, often registered on the last day before registration changes. I suspect this is so they can be counted as “sales”.
So the Daily Sceptic is only interested in fires in newer cars?

But still redeemable through jihad. Always a path to paradise for Muslim lone wolves.
Most major religions offer redemption.
Forgive me if I missed the reports of Baptists running amok with machetes and shotguns.
No, they don’t.
Only Christianity offers redemption, through REPENTANCE.
Exactly. Gullible Westerners forget the most fundamental tenet of Islam:
NO MUSLIM MAN, WOMAN OR CHILD can be guaranteed entry to their
“Paradise Brothel with 72 Virgins”
UNLESS THEY HAVE KILLED AN INFIDEL, or died trying to kill one, any way they can.
Most prefer “Stealth Jihad”, such as Medical Jihad, Rape Jihad, Food Contamination Jihad, Wildfire Jihad, Vehicular Jihad, or strangling your baby down at the childcare centre. One murder is sufficient to gain their entry ticket to Paradise, but some think they will get extra stuff in Paradise if they kill more.
This is why they teach their children to behead infidels by first slitting their throats and then slowly sawing off the head from the front, causing maximum horror and agony to the fully conscious victim. It is Satanic.
“Green attacks on energy guzzling artificial intelligence ramp up”
I would tend to agree whilst we have not attained a grid of limitless, cheap, energy. Rationing people’s heating whilst feeding Wikipedia articles into algorithms is a poor priority.
Neville is an angry middle-aged white man.
This should have completed today’s round-up.
It is interesting that the parties of the left used their conferences to attack Reform, whereas the Conservatives are using theirs to mimic Refom.
“Badenoch’s ECHR pledge could be the start of a Tory revival”
Only for mugs that choose to believe she’ll be allowed to do it!
Even though we’re about 5 years on, this one: “https://hartuk.substack.com/p/were-there-more-covid-deaths-in-the ” was well worth reading. Hasn’t it undermined confidence in some branches of the trade?
“Judges are finally rediscovering their common sense”
The Speccy should pay a little more attention to editing:
I’m pretty sure that the decision was that the ‘Albanian criminal and illegal immigrant’ should be allowed to stay in the UK.
You’d have thought the public reaction to Lineker would have advised him to keep his trap shut…

Set out new measures to tackle extremist Islamism” Yes, and how better to tackle Extremist Islamism than to expose the MUSLIM RAPE GANGS raping THOUSANDS OF BRITISH CHILDREN, as the Heroic Tommy Robinson has done? Muslims fail to denounce them, Jews fail to denounce them, and yet how can Jewish People explain the following? ‘He represents the very worst of Britain’: Jewish leaders hit out at Israeli government for inviting Tommy Robinson to visit the country | Daily Mail Online ” The BOARD OF DEPUTIES OF BRITISH JEWS and the JEWISH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL said Robinson ‘represents THE VERY WORST OF BRITAIN’. ” The Jewish leadership said, ‘Tommy Robinson is a thug who represents the very worst of Britain. ‘His presence undermines those genuinely working to tackle Islamist extremism and foster community cohesion.’ ” WHAT !!!??? How can any Jewish person defend these appalling words from their own leadership? Is it because the Muslim Rape Gangs NEVER TARGET JEWISH CHILDREN??? Or African children?
