Conservative Party Members Want Pact With Reform, Poll Finds
Conservative Party members want a pact with Reform UK, a poll has found – and half say they don’t want Kemi Badenoch leading them into the next election. The Telegraph has more.
The survey, published on the second day of the Tories’ annual conference, found the grass roots were significantly more sympathetic to an agreement than Kemi Badenoch, the Tory leader.
Mrs Badenoch and Nigel Farage, the Reform leader, have both repeatedly ruled out any arrangement between the two parties.
Reform is currently enjoying a comfortable poll lead while the Conservatives languish in third, which has led some senior Tories to call for a deal between the two.
In a survey between September 26th and October 2nd, YouGov asked 652 Tory members whether they would support a pact at the next General Election that would mean the two parties did not stand candidates against each other in their target seats.
64% of Tory members said they would support an electoral pact, while 31% were opposed and 5% did not know.
In the event of a hung parliament, 73% of paid-up supporters would welcome a coalition with Reform, while only a quarter (25%) would be against.
On Monday, Robert Jenrick, the Shadow Justice Secretary, dismissed the prospect of a pact as a “fool’s errand”. …
The poll also found half of Tory members do not think Mrs Badenoch should lead their party into the next general election.
Asked if she should still be in her post by the time of the next national poll, 46% said she should while 50% said she should not. …
Mrs Badenoch became Tory leader last November when the Tory membership chose her over Mr Jenrick in a head-to-head vote.
But while 39% said they would prefer Mrs Badenoch as leader today, 46% said they would prefer Mr Jenrick.

They should remember what happened with the SDP when it merged with the Liberal Party. Recon, or Conform, perhaps?
So the political right is split, thanks to Tory Uniparty appeasement of left wing Woke, and Labour might well get back, supported by Lib Dems and Greens?
Not sure why you are downvoted since this scenario was raised by a pollster on GB News just a couple of days ago. Maybe the pollster is a Tory and is trying to scare voters back to them with the prospect of another Labour government. As it currently stands I cannot see anyway Labour wins a majority or possibly even most seats. I cannot see them doing anything to change their 14 months of disaster and in fact it could get even worse if the next PM moves further to the Far Left. Reform could fall short of an outright majority but remember that this Labour government has the lowest level of support in living memory and yet a massive majority. Who is to say Reform might not get a big majority. What if those too disgusted with our Uniparty come out to support Reform? There is also the muslim votes going to their own people that could hurt Labour worse next time but that probably depends on the Gaza situation.

Why should it be free?
Easy to get around. Just refresh the page and press escape just before it fully loads. Might take a few attempts to get the timing right.
How very embarrassing. How does one manage to misspell one’s own country?
”Conservative party staff misspelled “Britain” on their Conference merch.
Kemi Badenoch’s leadership is so bad, she’s now getting portents from the gods foretelling the imminent death of the Tory party.”

Well spotted. They neither know nor care about what they say or write because they think we still believe them.
Why don’t they just leave the party and join/vote Reform? Those that don’t can join one of the other Socialist parties.
I suspect that is exactly what is happening.
Except the ones that want to continue to support socialist policies don’t have to go anywhere, they can stay right where they are in the Conservative Party.
Perhaps they think it would be political suicide under first past the post.
I reckon I must have some sadistic streak in me, because I really am enjoying watching the collapse of the Conservatives.
Begging for a pact with Reform suggests they have reached the point where their self esteem has completely collapsed and they are now prepared to endure humiliation to try to stay alive. And it’s enjoyable to watch. Because those bastards abused the electorate becoming socialists, embracing every socialist policy knowing there was no alternative to turn to.
Now that it looks as if there is, they can rot and die as a party. Even if Reform turn out to be a con and pull the same trick, it will still have been worth it.
Or they could carry on as they have done for years. The “Conservative” party has long since exhibited a degree of political metamorphosis, hence it’s survival.
The problem that they have now is that they have no viable way to pivot to more conservative policies. Every single thing they say about climate change or immigration or fiscal responsibility or social progressivism is going to ring completely hollow. For over two decades they’ve said on thing and done the opposite.
In the past people had no choice but to (pretend to) believe them, because there was no one else saying it. But now that Reform are saying everything the conservative public want to hear on those issues, and have the benefit of being believed, at least for now, there is literally no reason to even pay attention to the Conservatives.
So what do they metamorphosise into?
Looks like they will metamorphose into a pile of ashes. They will never be forgiven for the wanton destruction of the extended lockdowns and all they concealed to advance AI, immigration, and the disappearance of the GP.
Your joy is schadenfreude.
Readers may have noticed from postings here that Reform supporters do NOT want anything to do with the Tories except to replace them.
Reform cannot wait for ‘reformed’ conservatives to come over, but need to be very busy behind the scenes now learning how to govern effectively, so they are prepared.
Bearing in mind that the fake-Conservative Party is dead and the Reform Party does not suffer with necrophilia, the deal is off. Hard cheese old chaps at the fake-Torygraph.
Drowning, shipwreck survivors want place in lifeboat- poll finds.
Had high hopes for Kemi, as she’s intelligent, but is too little, too late, and politically too gentle. She needed to recapture the conservative right from day 1, even if that meant jettisoning the wet MPs, but was too quiet then and too quiet now.
They should not do this.
Why don’t they just agree with Farage to end the Tory party. After all there is nothing of the institutions to conserve as they have presided over their destruction. He can set up a panel to interview MPs, and take the preferred 20, the number they are predicted to get at the next election.
I think the suitable response to the Tory members is ‘F*ck off’ since you lumbered us with a string of duds since Baroness Thatcher.
