Looks like that lawyer is a self-appointed authority and spokesperson on what women want or do not want! Arrogant or misguided views somewhat, methinks. Hmm – just a thought – what about the people from ethnic minorities, gay people and trans people with an inflated expectation of their ‘rights’ who hold intolerant views against anyone who dare to challenge them? Is that a different kind of intolerance? An acceptable intolerance? Hey, I wouldn’t want to give the lawyer a fit of the vapours but we have a government that holds intolerant views towards the indigenous people of the lands and which sides with migrants who have lied and cheated and have no right to be here! Indeed – we know very well it won’t, and so do the people pushing identity cards.
Even if you believed the government had only benign thoughts on their use, which I don’t particularly, given the nature of the beast, there’s nothing to say the next, or future, governments will have the same attitude.
We already have sufficient means of identifying ourselves when required to. They should concentrate on using the laws we already have, not create others…
The ‘rules’ to employing people are pretty rigorous already, and they seem to just ignore them, so… just one more piece of ‘paper’ to ignore?
