“Overwhelmingly White” Countryside Needs More Halal Food, Report Claims
The British countryside is “overwhelmingly white” and needs more halal food, a report from the University of Leicester’s Centre for Hate Studies on “rural racism” has claimed. The Telegraph has the story.
In [the report], academics claim that ethnic minority communities face “challenges” in the countryside because rural England is “overwhelmingly white”.
This creates feelings of “discomfort”, the report states, and the “psychological burden” that comes with “navigating predominantly white spaces”.
The report also raises concerns that traditional pub culture and other “monocultural customs” are exclusionary.
It states that the countryside lacks “appropriate facilities to meet religious and cultural needs”, and does not cater for “dietary norms that are rooted in religious or cultural practice”, such as kosher and halal, adding to feelings of exclusion.
To tackle “rural racism” and increase diversity, a series of recommendations are set out in a section of the report, “How Can We Make the Countryside More Inclusive?”
The report notes that “the availability of halal food or spaces for prayer could make a significant difference in whether people feel comfortable visiting the countryside”.
It states that rural businesses should adapt to improve “cultural sensitivity”, saying: “Welcoming minoritised individuals into the countryside means more than tolerance; it requires thoughtful adaptation, sustained inclusion efforts and a willingness to change.”
These suggestions mark the conclusion of a two-year project led by Prof Neil Chakraborti, Leicester’s Hate Studies lead, along with his colleagues Amy Clarke and Prof Corinne Fowler.
Prof Fowler assisted the National Trust’s controversial 2021 report into the colonial connections of its country houses.
‘Rural Racism Project: Towards an Inclusive Countryside’ was funded by the Leverhulme Trust, a charity established by William Lever, the first Viscount Leverhulme, the plantation-owning soap magnate behind Unilever.

Obviously this bloke is a grifter and an anti white racist, but sadly I think that widespread economic illiteracy means that some will see this and think “something must be done” rather than thinking that the reason every town and village in the UK does not have a halal option is that there is simply not the demand and it’s uneconomic.
People I know often say to me “oh why is product or service X not available here, now, because it’s what I want, here, now”. It’s very tiring and tiresome explaining that it’s probably because there is not enough demand.
And it’s also illegal, directly violating British laws against animal cruelty, which are supposed to protect the welfare of British livestock.
When I was a school governor in Haringey I found out that the school meals were all halal, and raised it with my fellow governors. They had no idea it was happening and very little idea about halal- but they did not want to complain because I imagine their fear of disapproval was greater than their distaste for halal – I would add that most of them were, like me, middle class white people.
Well done to you for daring to object and to raise it with your fellow school governors!!! Unfortunately, the real reason they didn’t want to complain was more likely that they were Weedy Wet Liberals & Champagne Socialists fully supportive of the Muslim Army Invasion.

A couple of (white, female) friends visited Pakistan about 30 years ago (which I thought was foolish). At the hotel they asked for wine with their meals. The response was along the lines of: ‘Of course, no problem. You’ll have to take your meals in your rooms and sign this document to say you’re addicted to alcohol and need it as part of your recovery program’. Apparently the hotel served some decent wines though.
I grew up in Bombay(1957 – 1966). When my parents got there they found a Hindu state and to be able to drink they had to register as alcoholics. The state then gave them a ration book for alcohol and took away their driving licenses, this meant a job for a local as a chaffeur. Very civilised and rather clever. Bir Singh was ours; lovely man and took a very friendly but stern line with us kids (our parents orders). I still miss him and the others dreadfully.
But who is funding the university to deliver these courses/studies? Is it a Halhal company, lottery, direct government, foreign government funding, charity or foundation funding?

My local butcher tells me that most poultry sold in this country has been killed via halal methods regardless of any labels.

Offs, I have just watched some socialist idiot on Patrick Christy’s show supporting this rubbish, because he lived in the countryside and knows what a bunch of racist bastards those of us who don’t live in wonderful, diverse, culturally enriched cities are. He even went on to say, shock, that when a group of white people get together in the countryside, they can say nasty things. Easy: Someone who was illegitimately denied majoritity by members of the minoriphobe majority hate group.
Another attempt highlighting a slightly different angle: An individual becomes minoritised if its claims that it absolutey doesn’t belong to the majority group for reason X are accepted by members of the majority group for reason X.
