Labour MP Calls People Hanging St George’s Flags “Extremists”

Labour MP Clive Lewis has said people flying the St George’s Cross outside a migrant hotel in his constituency are “extremists” trying to “mark territory”. The Telegraph has more.

Clive Lewis, who represents Norwich South, criticised Norfolk county council for not removing the flags after they were put up on lampposts around the Brook Hotel in Bowthorpe over a week ago.

The hotel has been the scene of protests and counter-protests in recent weeks over its use to asylum seekers, with hundreds of people descending on the area.

The Eastern Daily Press quoted Mr Lewis as saying that “most people say they fly the St George’s Cross out of pride – and that’s probably even true for some of those putting them on lampposts.

“But far‑Right groups are using these flags to mark territory and intimidate the vast majority who reject their extreme views.

“They’re trying to drag the flag back into being just their flag, only for their purposes of division and intolerance, undoing the brilliant way our multi‑heritage England teams turned it into one of unity and pride.

“I’ve raised residents’ concerns with the county council – they can’t look the other way when extremists use our streets to send an intimidating message.”

The MP, a former shadow minister and Labour leadership candidate, has been told by Norfolk Constabulary not to attend any counter-demonstrations because his presence could escalate an already tense situation.

Mr Lewis joined a counter-protest at the hotel in December, where he said through a megaphone that some of those demanding an end to asylum seekers being held there were “racists” and “fascists”.

Norfolk county council said it is “not prioritising” the removal of the St George’s and Union Flags from street lights in the area, and is instead focusing on “more urgent” road issues.

Excellent. Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake. Mr Lewis should bear in mind that there will be many people not putting up flags who nonetheless support the putting up of flags, and logically he has now labelled millions, probably tens of millions, as extremists. I hope he gets headline coverage on all news sites.

In this moment of national strife Labour politicians are letting their guard down and revealing all the opinions that they normally keep hidden, and it’s political suicide. Good riddance.

A Black, globalist, corrupt politician calling Whites nazis – this is more or less what we have.

Africans, Chinese, South Americans, Mexicans, Muslims waving their flags – no problem. Queers, Trans-Fascists. No issue.

But the cross of St. George representing a country which helped build the modern world and end slavery – racist and Nazi of course.

Burn in hell Lewis. Let me help you get there.

Lewis says that right-wing extremists are “trying to drag the flag back into being just their flag.” Surely the correct response, then, is to encourage every household to fly the flag and thus make it more mainstream? His argument is like saying “some people eat too many chips and get fat, therefore we should stop everyone eating chips”.

Mr Lewis should ponder that it’s just flags an angry British public are hanging… for the moment.

He is entitled to his opinions but (shock! horror!) most people will not pay them any special attention. MPs no longer receive automatic respect, it has to be earned.

As these people CHOSE to come here, surely they wouldn’t be concerned seeing the flag of the country of THEIR CHOICE?

“…trying to “mark territory”

Yes that’s what flags are for – and borders too where flags are flown.

Labour as part of the globalist plan do not believe in borders, or nations of national identity, the World is to be one big State with regions with the globalist ruling over humanity as lords o er serfs.

This is actually more interesting than it seems. This Clive Lewis guy is in an extremely clumsy way making an interesting observation – that the St. George’s cross and the Union Jack to a lesser degree are being used as symbols against mass migration. He is right on that. And he is right on the fact that it’s divisive because those flags are supposed to represent all the people of England and all the people of Britain, regardless of their views on political matters. So they are also supposed to represent those who are in favour oof the current scale of immigration (which aren’t plenty, whether we like it or not). So he is actually quite right about that. Where he is wrong is in calling out people who don’t want mass immigration far right and extremists. They’re actually the opposite. Pretty damned normal if you ask me. The extremist policy is to want mass immigration. But the left consistently do this. They take an extreme position – on immigration, climate nonsense, trans ideology etc.. – and they proceed to call the opposition to it – i.e. the normal, reasonable position – extremist. They are truly despicable in that respect,… Read more »

I find it truly remarkable that so many of our MPs, who are supposed to be representing their constituents, are so hugely out of touch with the feelings and desires of so many of them. There is certainly some truth in the saying ‘the Westminster Bubble’ because those inside the bubble seem to be completely detached or uninterested in the views of those ignorant plebs who sent them there.

It’s certainly a clarifying moment. Mr Lewis has drawn a line in the sand.

The people putting the flags up are not racist; they are for a Britain that is continuous with the Britain of the past. Such people are proud of Britain’s past, its heritage and of its people, who are mainly white (especially if you consider that such people who are not comfortable with our heritage, warts and all, cannot really be said to be British at all, even if fully ethnically British, and may wish to consider another location.)

Of course, it is currently not really about patriotism at all, but an explicit protest against the tidal wave of immigration we have experienced since 2022 and what it has meant for public safety and well being. This is also not racist.

Glorious, love to watch these fools demonstrating so clearly that the feelings of their voters mean nothing against their preset ideologies.
Lewis is amongst the most arrogant and stupid of them all. Will enjoy watching him being replaced by one of the people that he thinks is a bigot. Hopefully.

Stop all postal voting, except seriously ill and armed forces abroad, as pre Anthony Charles Lynton Blair. Also strictly enforce laws against being harassed at the voting station. I suspect many of these creatures will have a nasty shock. Pipe dream, I know, for exactly that reason.

He said, “They’re trying to drag the flag back into being just their flag, only for their purposes of division and intolerance, undoing the brilliant way our multi‑heritage England teams turned it into one of unity and pride.” But… it IS just their flag!!! And the English People never asked Third World Chancers to turn their national flag into some sort of multi-heritage symbol. Just like his ancestral homeland of Grenada’s flag is the flag of the Ethnic Africans there like his own father, not the flag of blond Swedish immigrants to Grenada. By the way… Labour MP Clive Lewis ‘cleared’ of sexual harassment | Politics News | Sky News “The former shadow cabinet minister faced allegations of inappropriate behaviour at an event during Labour’s Brighton conference in September. A female Labour member had accused the MP of grabbing her bottom at the Momentum: The World Transformed festival – a popular fringe event organised by the pro-Corbyn group.” “He was cleared by “an internal Labour Party enquiry” [so that’s alright then…] “Mr Lewis previously apologised for telling a man to “get on your knees b**** “, during a comic quiz being held at the same fringe event.” Labour MP Clive Lewis… Read more »

He and the rest of the Labour party should keep digging. Really, he is being very generous and his statements are most revealing, leaving us in little doubt as to precisely what we are fighting against. It certainly makes it easy to decide how to vote at the next general election.

The “extremists” are those who want to destroy National Identity by diluting it with Mass Immigration.
