Imperial Predicted Hundreds of Heatwave Deaths – But Deaths Actually Went Down This Summer
To most of the population, this year’s spring and summer have somewhat mitigated the pain of the Government’s collision with reality – an unstoppable slow motion train wreck. A glorious spring was followed by weeks of sunshine, consistent with the theme of Britain’s regression to the politics and economy of the mid-1970s. There are those who have not enjoyed the burp of 1976, of course. Farmers, struggling with drought, report a disappointing harvest. And then there are the weather worriers – the climate alarmists who would turn any hint of joy into a harbinger of doom. And so it was this year – as was reported back in June – when heatwave hysteria set in. This summer’s heatwaves would be “deadly”, the worriers claimed. And they produced stats to prove it.
Following the June heatwave, Sky News reported that “London would have seen many fewer deaths in a world without climate change”. Based on analysis provided by the Grantham Institute at Imperial College London, a scary graph was produced, along with the claim that “263 people are thought to have lost their lives between June 23rd and July 2nd, as the sun roasted flats, tarmac and care homes”.

The fear porn is produced by models funded by activist billionaires and promoted by activist legacy media. It’s a production line of garbage. The idea is to flood the minds of the populous. We are 10 scary predictions down the line by the time these stories get debunked, and of course MSM will not report any of that.
The real takeaway is that anything that comes out of ICL and LSE is utter crap.
That’s a problem with this kind of propaganda: Complicated BS can be created much faster and easier than refuted. Further, refuting something that’s complicated will be require a complicated argument people might not want to bother with because it’s too tedious or simply won’t understand.
The real problem is that the heads of a a whole generation of youngsters have been filled with idiotic lies.
True, although by far the biggest load of crap is the stat of people who have died from heat.
As many of us discovered during COVID, for statistical purposes, death can be attributed to pretty much anything they like.
I can’t believe for a second that anyone in the UK actually died of heat and nothing but heat. I would bet a lot of money that most if not all of these people who supposedly died from heat, were old and frail, had serious health conditions to start with or both. In other words, people who could be tipped over the edge by anything and possibly unusually warm conditions in their homes is what did it.
What heat? There were a few warm days! The MET office lied, and the heat nonsense is based on that. Are there any truths left?
Nearly got tea in my keyboard there.
Further evidence of the culling of the weakest as a consequence of repeated immune system attack via Covid boosters which have been continually promoted to the elderly.
Only us tough but wise old birds who declined this dangerous intervention have survived. PS I am not using bird in a derogatory sense as the female of the species, I am a tough old rooster.
There was talk last week on GB News that a new variant of covid has evolved and case numbers were up. Will this trigger a new round of boosters and their associated deaths? The US has removed the emergency cover for the jabs going forward. And the UK wants to include a chickenpox jab for children just ahead of Robert Kennedy reporting next month on the findings of research into the rise of autism.
Imperial: home of fake models made from just money and glue
(To repeat this) Running computer programs claimed to simulate the world accurately enough to enable predicting the future is not research and the people doing so are not scientists. It’s the high-tech equivalent of reading tea leaves, enriched with a lot of gratuitous math to overawe everyday people.
Given that they run their models on supercomputers which take dedicated power stations and give off lots of heat they actually are a source of human made global warming. Dedicate enough resources to these people and they will just be marking their own homework.
You don’t need a supercomputer to produce rubbish, in fact they are worse than anything else. If you paly computer games with full image animation (photo-realistic), your computer is doing the maths of more than 1000 Cray1’s, the original supercomputer! Modern “supercomputers” are networked arrays of computers with these graphics cards, and the maths is not the problem, it is the useless “algorithms” employed!
It is surely not a question of science – what science – but facts.
By the 90’s Imperial had a track record of excellence for it’s engineering models. Note that engineering models need to roughly match reality and be able to reproduce the same results consistently.
Today on my phone I got “an alert for rain”. It rained… it sometimes does that, has done so throughout my life, and before smart phones the “alert” came from black clouds which precede the event.
Summer? Characteristically British: sunshine, cloudy, blue skies, a bit windy, hot, cool, a bit chilly… pic n’mix.
Grantham, from what I have read, listened to his children and started giving millions to parasitical organizations. How does someone like him not realize what an idiot he has been?
You won’t hear TV news or Government telling people to stay warm and wrap up in winter, despite many more people dying of cold than of heat. —-WHY? Because cold isn’t politicised like heat is. The Political Agenda of Global Warming is the focus of the government and media attention. There is nothing to be gained by alarming people about cold weather, because it is compliance with global warming politics that government need from us.
Ben same stable as 500,000 deaths
This is excellent and I’m sorry I missed the excellent ‘Statistician to the Stars’ analysis. I have particular interest because I used to work with one of the Directors at the Met Office and a couple of yrs back he posted on LinkedIn something about lots of people will be losing their lives becaue of the heat. I so remember thinking….. who will check? Well I didnt and I don’t think anyone did but they clearly repeated this nonsense again. Bravo to Briggs and Pile.
PS – he was full of hot air when I worked with him.
