Thousands Object Tesla’s Bid to Supply Energy to UK Homes
Over 8,000 people are urging Ofgem to stop Tesla powering British homes, accusing Elon Musk of pushing his own political agenda. The Standard has the story.
The company applied for a licence from the energy regulator last month, aiming to start supplying power to homes and businesses in England, Scotland and Wales as soon as next year.
But its billionaire owner’s political activity, including his support for Donald Trump and… activist Tommy Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, has drawn objections to the application from the public.
Campaign group Best for Britain has urged the public to write to Ofgem, arguing Mr Musk is not a “fit and proper” person to have “a foothold in our essential services”.
Some 8,462 people have used the group’s online tool to lodge objections with Ofgem so far. …
Members of the public have until Friday to comment on the application, after which Ofgem will decide whether to grant Tesla a licence to supply electricity. …
Tesla has been involved in the UK energy market since 2020, when it was granted a licence to be an electricity generator.
Worth reading in full.
N.B. Best for Britain’s Ofgem online tool is fully editable and can be used to send a message of support for Tesla being granted a licence to supply electricity in the UK.

Lol, but it’s OK to buy windmills and milk floats from China
Apparently, a man who champions ‘right wing’ politicians should not be allowed to supply electricity. That sounds like a strong argument in his favour.
Amazing about turn isn’t it – not many years he was a darling of the left…
But Dale Vince and Ecotricity are fine….. ummm
A Labour donor, of course.
Flying the terrorist flag.
JustStopDonkeys or whatever they are called have swung into action…
I edited their letter and sent it. Not the best thought out letter but I am in a hurry. Dear Ofgem, As you know, Elon Musk has filed an application for a licence to supply energy to UK households and businesses. The application, signed by Andrew Payne (Head of Energy for Tesla in EMEA), would give the world’s richest man a foothold into our energy market. This is not necessarily a bad move. An energy market already defined by sky-high prices, and a feeling of mistrust amongst consumers according to recent polling, mainly due to the incompetence of this and previous governments and their insane chasing of ‘Net Zero’ to eradicate miniscule amounts of a trace gas which has no discernable warming effect outside a very narrow percentage range, and which is ‘plant food’ as shown by the regreening of parts of the world. As the energy market watchdog, you have a legal responsibility to ignore those who would enforce their own narrow views on the rest of the population because they are loud and insistent, and make a decision according to the law. I quote, “It is up to the energy regulator Ofgem to decide and we have until… Read more »
Naturally left wing messages are never circulated by global businesses. No reason to think Elon would do that.
“arguing Mr Musk is not a “fit and proper” person to have “a foothold in our essential services”. Unlike Ed Milibrain.
Seriously, why does every news outlet talking about Tommy Robinson say ‘real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon’, yet none of them say Elton John ‘real name Reg Dwight’?
Tony Benn, real name Lord Stansgate,
Or Tony Blair, real name unprintable.
You can feel the contempt for Tommy from these media types, they just can’t help themselves. There is no way they would do it to a woman or non-white person. Maybe it’s just class prejudice, I don’t know.
Just in case we confuse Mr Yaxley-Lennon with the dozen or so other high-profile Tommy Robinsons in the News every other day and in Court or being harassed by the Police in the days in between, such as thingammy-jig, and whatshisname.
Neither is starmer a fit and proper person to be be dismantling our country on a mandate of barely 20%.
Neither is reeves or milliband.
What a pathetic argument.
For the fun of it, I sent an edited letter in support of Elon. Good of our enemies to provide a template
Do these people feel that China is “fit and proper” to have a stake in our essential services?
Edited and sent!.
Not that I know much about this matter, but damned if I am going to sit back and accept what some left wing organisation who think they know best, (another one), tells me what to do.
Regards
Ralph
I suggest that rather than using the loony left website BestforBritain and giving them your details that you just, if you want to, make your representation to Ofgem direct via https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications/tesla-energy-ventures-limited-notice-application-electricity-supply-licence
I’ve just amended and sent the letter in favour of support for Tesla’s application. Additional competition can only be a good think.
The objectors will no doubt be the same people who insist we must act now to stop climate change, and the same who weep uncontrollable if a bat or a bird or a whale is killed by Human activity, unless its windmills and solar panels then… it’s a price worth paying.
Pass the humbugs, mother.
I made a few tweaks and sent mine in:
Dear Ofgem,
As you know, Elon Musk has filed an application for a licence to supply energy to UK households and businesses.
The application, signed by Andrew Payne (Head of Energy for Tesla in EMEA), would give the world’s richest man a foothold into our energy market, a man who has made his money by coming up with great ideas, amazing inventions and taking risks.
An energy market already defined by sky-high prices, and a feeling of mistrust amongst consumers according to recent polling.
As the energy market watchdog, you have a legal responsibility to protect consumers from halfwits who insist that renewables are cheaper than gas and are the beneficiaries of huge amounts of subsidy
Tesla is to be WELCOMED to the UK energy market to bring innovation and combat the self-satisfied market “leaders”.
I ask you to ACCEPT Tesla’s application and protect our country from the influence of the existing renewable mullahs.
Yours,
Rodger Tilbury
The mob are at it again. Sadly, the corporates usually cave in, too gutless to fight.
So roughly 65 million people didn’t object then!
So expect not fit for purpose, politically motivated Ofcom to reject it then!
