Ten Awful Covid Studies Funded by Taxpayers
When I cover woke waste – taxpayer-funded ghastliness – I tend to focus on current (‘active’) research at universities. I consider this much more worthwhile than combing over past projects, seeing as active studies are happening right now, and a sensible government could even stop them if it truly wanted to.
Today, however, I wanted to step back in time, to the era of Covid (dun dun dun), having recently stumbled on some of the projects that were justified in its name and been pretty horrified. The ones I will show readers were funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), a quango that spends £8 billion of taxpayers’ money each year on so-called “research and innovation”.

What an amazing waste of money. Given the approval processes for such sum, it is amazing how many people are in on this extreme waste.
Another reason the Tories will never get back into power. This was on their watch with an 80 seat majority. Blue Socialists.
It is the Civil Service. They run the show.
In similar vein to the Covid gravy train, UKRI are linked to Climate change funding. If you are a company wishing to sell your aerospace technology, or an engineer developing your career, for heaven’s sake get into any project with a mission statement beginning “To combat Climate Change..” or “The current unprecedented Climate Change is the single most serious…..”. Such projects are still guaranteed to release millions of pounds of taxpayers funds nationally and internationally. For example, UKRI via STFC and RAL has contributed to the Anglo-French Microcarb satellite programme. (With a resolution of 2km by 2km it can almost detect your garden bonfire and, using UN “attribution” software models, identify which polar bear died as a result of your reckless conflagration. /s)
Hurry! This get-rich-quick offer expires in 2029.
Just the numbers reveal the pettifogging, bureaucratic mindset behind all this nonsense. The two pounds in the £15,302 wasted on the Scottish Public Libraries study was for what exactly? How did the additional thirteen pounds included in the £416,913 spent on the indigenous people of Brazil’s response to Covid 19 make or break the project? The UKRI is a prime ‘Day One Target’ for the next government. It should be abolished immediately along with the Department of Media, Culture and Sport. No warnings, no adjustments, just immediate abolition with the savings given back to the hapless tax payer.
Penny wise – pound foolish. While one focussed on the £2 one notices less the £15k in front. During the Covid fakedemic, the last government wasted and gave away half a trillion ( yes that’s about five hundred thousand thousand million). Though most of the ire is about a few tens of thousands or a few tens of millions appropriated by a few close friends of government ministers
Depending on your definition of trillion – either 10^12, 10^15 or 10^18 – half a trillion is one of:
five hundred thousand million
five hundred thousand thousand million (that’s your number, also expressed as five hundred million million or five hundred thousand billion)
five hundred thousand million million (five hundred million billion)
Wikipedia uses the 10^12 definition – the lowest. This seems consistent with the idea that the UK’s GDP is $3.84 trillion in 2025. Pissing away half a trillion pounds is 17.3% of GDP – an Hell of a lot of money.
There is no need for this country to have UKRI.
Why?
Because we have one of the finest networks of universities in the world.
Forget ‘salami slicing’. An immediate 50% cut in quangos, civil servants (starting with the most senior) would force Whitehall, properly directed by Westminster (rarely a given) to concentrate on priorities like, for example, implementing social insurance model reforms to the health system of this country.
Imagine the savings….
Why, the savings could even total more than, say, a £50bn ‘black hole’……annually……
If we have one of the finest networks of universities in the world I fear for the others. They may have their fine aspects but I wouldn’t go near a university for all the tea in China. Politically captured and all fully on board with the COVID scam.
The others include some truly awful departments and practices. In the UK just check their admin costs and how much they spend on advertising for students.
One big cost which could be avoided is central London campus costs which so many of them maintain. Presumably for vanity and the convenience of the Vice Principal.
Money Laundering in many cases, outright theft in others. Many of these ‘projects’ are tied to the establishment and money laundering. This is the small stuff.
How about the £34 BILLION for Trick and Treat (track n trace). So where is that system now? And how the hell do you spend £34 BILLION? Cui bono? I work in IT. The larger the project the greater the waste and fraud. How many millionaires from Trick n Treat?
And why no ‘inquiry’ or even public discussion? The Plandemic. Medical. Nazism.
The Theory of Cliodynamics suggests that the ‘old elite’ eventually fails and after a period of chaos (sound familiar?) a new elite takes over.
One reason for the failure of the old elite is their overproduction of elite children – who increasingly struggle to find elite jobs. So you could argue that the reason for such dubious research studies is the struggle to find and generate proper ‘elite’ jobs. Plus there is the ‘benefit’ of a whole bureaucracy of quangos, civil servants, universities, research journals and councils needing elite workers to fill their ranks.
A full house several times over in “buzzword bingo”
How I long for the days of ‘And now, topless darts from Roehampton’….
Whut? You’re not allowed to hit the twenty sector?
Sheer genius
I’m a proud conspiracy theorist, a phrase invented by the UN to silence us. Glad to report that it failed to work. History has proven that we were right.
The word conspiracy comes from the Latin, literally breathing together. How ironic that the word should now come be used against those who wanted to breath freely and laughed at silly masks.
There are only 2 justifiable reasons for funding related to whole Covid scam:
1) Funding a class action prosecution of all those involved in perpetuating and continuing the entire response, all those pushing the lockdowns, masking, “vaccines” and other terrible policies.
2) Funding education of why the response was so wrong, who was responsible, and why they should never be forgiven but instead prosecuted.
And for the record no mask was “reusable” unless it was properly sterilised. Once worn (even for a few minutes) it was a biohazard (if their narrative was true) and should have been disposed of as such – the fact they never offered any measurable level of protection or safety is still ignored. I kept looking for the thousands of biohazard disposal bins there should have been, never saw one!
One reason I knew it was all a massive CON – zero guidance on the correct and safe way to use a mask (assuming they were in any way effective or safe), and its subsequent safe disposal.
Saw plenty of discarded face nappies thrown carelessly on the ground.
Someone signs off these project funding applications and someone approves the total budget. We need to find them and dismiss them.
I would not be surprised to find corruption somewhere in such large budgets for silly projects (fake invoices, payments to connected persons for fantom work, etc).
Yup, look what they found with USAID.
After the Event 201 ‘table-top’ exercise took place in late 2019 a ‘live exercise’ was then supposed to also run, by Aug 2020, and with its scenario being the ‘accidental’ release of a respiratory pathogen. I contend that CV19 commenced as this precise exercise.
