Green Elites Broke Britain, Not Beijing
As was reported here back in March, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Ed Miliband, flew that month to China to “restart meaningful climate change dialogue”. “The global battle against the climate crisis needs China,” explained Miliband at the time. However, reports are now emerging that, as much as the UK’s Net Zero policy agenda requires China in some unstated capacity, the public do not need to know what that deal (and the “global battle”) requires of them. According to the Telegraph, Miliband now “refuses to publish details of green energy deal with China”. This has further inflamed the phoney climate war between the Government and the opposition, and has drawn others into the fray. But it’s a bit late now, to start worrying about how the detail of Net Zero policies are undermining Britain’s security interests.
The Telegraph cites Miliband’s opposite, Claire Coutinho, who fears that “Intelligence services have warned us about Chinese state-sponsored hackers infiltrating Western energy systems” – an allusion to the putative discovery of “Rogue communication devices found in Chinese solar power inverters”, reported earlier this year. Though seemingly shocking, it is very far from unusual for such devices to have online functionality. Moreover, while such designs that were discovered were a potential security risk, that fact is very far from a demonstration of nefarious intent. It may better reflect shortcomings of design specification – sloppy implementation rather than spyware. The pace of China’s industrial development has been phenomenal but unevenly regulated by official bureaucracies and less formal standards.

Milliband is a clear and present danger to the UK, he should be jailed.
Preferably exported to China; why should British taxpayers have to fund hom while he’s in the nick?
Great article and the answer is in the last sentence.
” It may have suited Chinese manufacturers, but it was done by our own politicians …”
This sentence looks like total naivety to me.
The Chinese have EVs, running on coal-fired generated Electricity, as they import over half of their Oil/Gas as it is, and much of their food, and they have plenty of Coal. Anything to keep Imports to a minimum.
And the fact that they can incorporate this into a psyops, damaging Western Industries is a bonus. Though it does help having Useful Idiots to implement the farce.
Net Zero is a war. —–The Political Class of phony planet savers versus the people who voted for them. We never have to agree to pretend to save the planet, we only have to comply. We have to submit and if we don’t our behaviour will reveal us to be climate change dissidents. We are in a world now where surveillance and ESG point scoring dictate how we live. The Elites don’t answer to us, they answer to each other. You cannot challenge the technocracy, as it works behind the scenes. It operates through agencies, frameworks, climate targets, etc Our whole existence is being monitored. What we buy, what we say online, energy use, what we eat, and if we eat the wrong things (meat) our carbon footprint will stop us buying any more for the month etc etc.——Yet Politicians and Bureaucrats continually talk of “Our Democracy”. But challenging them on anything has us flagged as “dangerous”. What kind of phony democracy is that supposed to be?
Here in the East Midlands, they have started to upgrade the pylons as part of the “Great Grid Upgrade.”
The new larger insulators fitted came in boxes showing they were manufactured in China.
As this infrastructure upgrade is to transfer green power, there is an irony that we already can not afford to make the items needed due to high energy costs, so ship them halfway around the world.
Creating green jobs anywhere but Britain.
Why?
Because many are making a very pretty penny out of the SCAM and for others, their lucrative future careers depend on delivering what the Globalists want.
Milliband is a Marxist, the Chinese are Communists, what is there not to understand with regards to what is being negotiated here.
I hope the latest report from the US Government (neatly summarised here: https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/the-climate-scaremongers-demolish-myth/) starts to make headway.
When other countries see the USA not only ignore Net Zero, but thrive, then many will follow their lead.
Putting a country’s flag upside down is just rude… although, it IS a sign of distress, so perhaps someone knows?
Most Brits don’t know which is the right way up for our flag, so you can’t expect Johnny Foreigner to get it right every time.
Maybe it’s subliminal message telling us we’re sinking fast Mayday Mayday.
That would be the first true thing he’s ever said.
None of this tackles the main question: If he’s not telling us, what in God’s name has Miliband signed us up for? And how bad is it, if he won’t even tell Parliament?
The only good news I can extract from this sad story of national betrayal is that the UK is now so economically and military irrelevant that we are unlikely to be a target for direct Chinese aggression – merely indirect Chinese dominance.
They will simply continue their successful policy of destroying our economy by funding the Green Blob, with a huge army of useful idiots to support them, and ensuring that we have no resources or capacity to represent a serious challenge to anything they want to do.
Or as Putin said with a laugh a few weeks ago about whether Britain was threat “What?, they cannot even stop small dinghies arriving in their country”——Laughably true.
The predatory money/power that grew out of the City of London, banking cartels, the East India company (and such), which morphed into the camouflage of the British Empire, that after long trying coerced the US administration into passing the federal reserve act and then following two world wars that ruined Great Britain and stuffed it as a global power, this cartel, let’s call them the predatory ruling class, switched its attention to the tax base and military industrial ability of the USA. From here the decline of the British Empire was matched by the growth of the American hegemonic Empire. And so the wheel keeps turning, a process that has been on the way for several decades now is that this predatory ruling power is, yet again, switching it’s tax-base and military strength to control vast swaths of the world via China now. The actions that have enabled this, building the economic might of New China, is not what has driven this change. The change has come by a top down process, the tug of puppet strings, the tilting of tables, the whispered words of how benefits will come to those who aid delivery of the aim. If I can… Read more »
Anyone who has been paying attention knows this.
Daily Sceptic,
A bloke from 3EG was arguing with Michael Portillo about our electricity grid stating that our high costs are entirely the result of wholesale gas prices. Michael was not able to pick him apart (admittedly, the guy would not listen). Could one of your writers please debunk this argument in layman’s terms so that we ordinary folk can make the argument ourselves?
Continho is a fraud or she would t have taken the job. No institutions work in the UK anymore, so why should Energy ?
