Sir Keir Starmer’s Chief of Staff Engulfed in £6 Million Migrant Scandal

Keir Starmer’s top aide is facing cries of hypocrisy after the Mail on Sunday revealed his father’s firm got £6 million to house asylum seekers – despite his tough talk on illegal migration. Here’s an excerpt:

Nobody understands the electoral cost of failing to tackle the migrant crisis more than Sir Keir Starmer’s powerful right-hand man Morgan McSweeney. …

We need to be tough from the start, the Irishman told the future Prime Minister in a memo. Regain control of borders, he said, smash the gangs, tackle small boats – noble exhortations Sir Keir would later parrot.

Failure to address these issues, McSweeney warned, risked handing future victory to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK. …

His immigration warnings seem hollow now. Legal and illegal migration is spiralling out of control. Failure to stop the small boats is one thing but much public anger is reserved for the scandalous gravy train of outsourcing companies and middlemen making a small fortune from a broken system. …

For Sir Keir and McSweeney, the headlines were embarrassing.

And the Mail on Sunday can reveal there is something closer to home that might cause McSweeney, if not outright embarrassment, then surely a twinge of unease.

His father Tim McSweeney, a County Cork-based accountant, has his part to play in the asylum gravy train causing resentment in his homeland. …

Mr McSweeney, 73, helped set up a company that received £6 million from the Irish state to house asylum seekers.

He incorporated Togail Veilbhit Glas Teoranta in February 2023. He and wife Carmel are the only listed directors and it is registered at the same address in Macroom as his accountancy firm. …

Public records show Togail received £6 million for provision of “international protection accommodation and/or related costs” . …

It is not easy to fathom who gets the money. The company’s owners are hidden behind a labyrinthine corporate structure.

It leads – via two other Irish shell companies, both linked to Mr McSweeney – to a web of Cyprus-registered companies. Asked how he became involved, Mr McSweeney said it was “nobody’s business”.

In addition to its ties to No 10, the McSweeney family is linked to the upper echelons of the Irish Government. Morgan’s cousin Clare Mungovan is a special advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris.

Is it safe to have a foreign national so close to decision making and secret information in Downing Street. Especially someone from a country which has a history of antagonism towards the UK, most recently over Brexit but further back over WWII when they endorsed Hitler. During the intervening period they tolerated arms shipments across their territory for the IRA and allowed terrorists to train, rest and take refuge there.

I think that is the least of the country’s worries when the entire government consists of various shades of traitors.

Of course you need loosely affiliated foreigners in places of influence, they simply can’t find too many Brits who would be prepared to betray their country on such a scale.
Still, it’s another reason to knock a few points off their ratings and let’s hope aspiring politicians are keeping note ready for the inevitable malfeasance charges brewing against the “elites” . I use the word elite but only in the sense that they have power, they certainly have nothing of worth to set themselves apart from the hoi polloi

Like the Net Zero SCAM. Many members of the Establishment are making a very pretty penny out of the asylum SCAM.

The same across the pond. There are career politicians who have accrued many times their annual salaries over their careers and are in favour of allowing undocumented individuals into the country.
it another scam, there’s the lobbying scam, the net zero scam, the immigration scam and probably quite a few more hidden away from public view.

So ‘Togail’ is a shell company setup, it appears, to conceal the true beneficiary. It is everybody’s business to fathom it must be somebody’s business. Reminds me of David Cameron’s father being involved in setting-up Panama registered shell companies and trusts. They’re all at it – bottom feeders.

Precisely. They are little different from the Ceaucescus of this world at this point.

And will hopefully be getting their Ceaucescu moments in the post 🤞

It’s a problem associated with having a ruling class not based on merit.

A ruling class is always lacking in merit. Leaders have merit, rulers just pretend they are meritorious leaders whereas in reality they are all just meritless charlatans and spivs.

Far from me to cast aspersions, but using “Cyprus registered companies” in that oasis of financial prudence.

Good on these people for getting out there and actually doing something meaningful to show their opposition. I wish them the best of luck because it won’t be staying this tranquil for long. Now they’ve posted their situation on social media you know it’s just a matter of time before the leftards all show up to initiate trouble, then the police will want to pay them a visit, so they must stand firm. This is apparently where Dad’s Army was filmed;

”Concerned citizens of Watton (Thetford) have gathered outside Watton Vibe Hotel, which is allegedly scheduled to be a migrant hotel.

The locals have reportedly stopped two containers from entering so far.”

Classic Marxists, snouts in the trough whilst they trample on the people they purport to be the champions of. The Migrant business is just a huge money making opportunity and its clear that those who promote it are benefitting from it.

The top levels of government has it’s snout in the illegal migrant swill.
Colour me surprised!

Isn’t it amazing that scandal, hypocrisy and kick backs are never a problem when the left do it.
