Teacher Sacked After Criticising ‘Two-Tier Justice’ in Lucy Connolly Case
A teacher has been sacked at the behest of the National Education Union after saying Lucy Connolly’s prison sentence was an example of “two-tier policing”. The Telegraph has more.
In a post on social media, Simon Pearson, 56, who teaches at Preston College said Connolly’s online comments were “obviously wrong” but she “should not have been jailed”.
But he was dismissed after an internal investigation, prompted by a complaint from a Muslim representative of the National Education Union (NEU) at the school, found his online posts had the potential to bring the college into disrepute.
Mr Pearson told the Telegraph: “I am appalled by the way I’ve been treated. I’ve dedicated my life to education and to supporting students from all walks of life.
“Yet as soon as I was branded ‘Islamophobic’ for expressing concern about violent crime, I became a marked man. It was clear that I had to be found guilty by the college, it became a witch hunt, and I had to be eliminated no matter what.”
Mr Pearson is an ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher at the further education college in Fulwood.
Connolly was jailed in October last year after posting an online message on the day of the Southport murders, that read: “Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f—ing hotels full of the b——s for all I care, while you’re at it take the treacherous government politicians with them.”
The 42-year-old, who had lost a child of her own, deleted the post fewer than four hours later, but not before it had been viewed 310,000 times.
Critics claimed her 15-month jail sentence was “a clear example of two-tier justice”.
Lord Young of Acton, founder of the Free Speech Union, said: “The most striking aspect of this case is that the teacher was sacked at the behest of the NEU.
“Once upon a time, trade unions used to stick up for workers threatened with the sack for speaking out of turn. Now, they side with management and actively try to get workers sacked, including their dues-paying members.”

Stop Press: A leader in the Telegraph takes the same line as me about how shocking it is that a teaching union has reported a teacher for wrongthink.
The NEU did the very opposite of sticking up for a member of the profession. In this regard, it is a serial offender. The union has more than 34,000 members working in independent schools. Labour’s imposition of VAT on school fees clearly goes directly against these members’ interests. Some will lose their jobs as schools are no longer economically viable and close. Many more will see their conditions of employment not improve and pensions worsen as schools try to cut costs to balance their budgets and ameliorate the impact of the tax hike on parents.
But the NEU did not campaign against the move, saying that they could “best use their influence behind the scenes”. Ideology seemingly trumps members’ interests. Teachers deserve better.

Another test case for the FSU. This seems winnable.
Another possible case for the FSU here. In fact, somebody’s already tagged them in the comments. Looks like the guy was an estate agent but has now been suspended due to this video being shared online;
”So the lefties have reported this man and he’s been suspended ….wtaf. why should people have to put up with this pointless banging of pots and pans.”
https://x.com/jomickane/status/1951810006183244046
This poor chap is going to lose his job.
Surely not if the FSU come to his aid. He wasn’t violent or anything, just having to shout over the din to make his counter-opinion heard. But this is the shit-stirring Leftards for you, making sure to film the drama and cause trouble for somebody, just because they rightfully had had enough.
more precisely, a shit-stirring ‘Muslim representative of the NEU at the school ,’ according to the article.
Yes I urge everyone to join, I did.
Meanwhile, can they do this? Isn’t this unlawful and an abuse of their powers? To me, this has all gone according to plan as far as Antifa and the ‘Stand Up For Rapists’ crowd are concerned, because this was always their intention. Turn up, cause the trouble ( they actually look to get arrested ) then rather than the police just banning that lot they’re banning the actual peaceful protesters as well. Job done;
”Police have now allegedly banned protestors from demonstrating outside the Britannia hotel for 28 days.
The police have reportedly enacted Section 42A of the Criminal Justice and Police Act, claiming the protests are causing “distress” to the residents of the hotel.” Alex Armstrong
Interesting, but I’m sure we could’ve guessed as much;
”Theres a man on Tiktok claims to be a Grandad & he has been filming the antifa lefties at the protests. He says a lot of them are university teachers and students which is why they wear face coverings…. Police need to ban all masks.”
https://x.com/jomickane/status/1951953982990974979
It’s been reported that residents at the hotel have been leaning out the windows videoing the protests and joking with them. Hardly evidence that they’re distressed.
They have been laughing at the protestors, hardly having a joke with them. They know they are untouchable. Protected by this communist state.
How much you betting that if the police said “from now on, anybody covering their faces will be removed/arrested”, the trouble would dramatically decrease, if not cease altogether? This is why I’m very confident it’s all deliberate ( look at the police bussing the lefties in at Epping, for example ), orders from Starmer as a tactic for getting these protests stopped. Because all the police ever had to do was keep the lefties separate and preferably ban face coverings, because only those intent on making mischief ( as well as undercover police agitators ) wear them. In fact, if the police banned face coverings I bet Antifa would basically cease to exist because it’s seemingly an essential part of their get-up. The fact the police aren’t bothering with this very obvious intervention says to me this is all tactical. Now how much you betting that all the other migrants in their hotels suddenly feel “distressed” too and all the other protests will be banned under this ‘Section 42A’, because today was to send a message? The protests are always peaceful until that tribe of troublemakers turn up but there’s a reason the police don’t recognise this and just remove… Read more »
If say it was a tactic of Starmer’s to provoke violence so he can declare a State of Emergency bring in martial law and cancel elections. These protests MUST remain peaceful at all costs
There was one yesterday, not sure if it was the one I mentioned above because there was several of them going on, and everything was just fine but then a load of men in balaclavas appeared out of the blue, setting off smoke bombs.
So the normal, patriotic, concerned citizens are just fine. Protesting peacefully and demonstrating solidarity, but then these idiots start with their usual antics, designed to antagonise and get a reaction, they’re the ones you see chucking stuff at the police too, and so the police react then the entire protest suffers, when the police can see full well who the culprits are.
If they can’t counter-protest peacefully they shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the peaceful main protest. And what sort of warped individuals counter-protest people concerned about unvetted, dangerous proven rapists being dumped on their doorstep anyway?
They’re just horrible socialist wanker oikophobes, that’s what they are.🤬
There is clearly no point in wasting money on subscriptions to the NEU.
In fact common sense would dictate the money would be better spent with the FSU.
It is worth following Eugypius and his commentaries on state over-reach. Currently even criticising a German political leader is risky. I suspect that what Germany is doing this year, 2TS will do next.
Whatever became of Reiner Fuellmich (sceptical of Lockdown) and the Dutch[[?] guy (abducted, disappeared[?], sceptical of Dutch immigration policy)?
The cases of Reiner Fuellmich and the Dutch guy (sorry, name forgotten) are unbelievably sinister.
Actually worse than Lucy connolly.
Basically locked up and thrown away the key.
Reiner Fuellmich was kidnapped from Mexico, smuggled to Germany, held in solitary and then jailed after a farcical trial where his lawyer wasn’t even allowed to speak in court.

This system by which professional bodies such as those that regulate teachers, doctors and others suppress dissent is getting out of hand. This is not a new phenomenon. Around 2004 onwards anybody in academia who dared to express scepticism of the Anthropogenic Global Warming Hypothesis (as it was then known before being rebranded as Climate Change) risked sanctions up to and including being barred from their profession. In theory such a decision can be challenged in the courts, but few professionals have the financial backup to risk it, and the courts tend not to overturn decisions made by institutions. The situation over the last two decades has got worse because now dissent is punishable under the criminal justice system as well as the professional standards bodies. Additionally (at least in teaching) there evolved a “snitch” culture in which teachers were encouraged to snitch on their colleagues if they expressed dissent. In the last decade AI has evolved to efficiently scan social media posts for “hate speech” and “snitch” on offenders (but not very accurately, as German sports commentator Tim Heldt discovered.) Nowadays even the platform providers have to tread carefully, acting as agents of the state, scared of fines for… Read more »
In summary teachers are political activists. No doubt they relish being able to campaign in classroom on behalf of the Green Party and Labour – LibDems at a push.
Meanwhile the Council Tax payers in Essex still have to fund the partisan school called Anglo-European at Ingatestone. So much for the Tories claimed new Euroscepticism. https://www.aesessex.co.uk/
Yes. From a brief skim of that site it seems that the UN (or at least UNA-UK, judging from the logos and presumed affiliations) is part funding that initiative, along with the enforced contributions from the council tax payers.
I am always wary of organisations whose letter-headed notepaper or website landing-page is festooned with logos from a myriad “partners”!
So basically this guy was sacked for expressing an opinion.
I actually agree with him.
Is the Daily Sceptic a social media forum?
I can’t see why it wouldn’t be classed as a social media forum
Who exactly is behind all of this insanity? It has got to stop.
This was in Manchester. This is the main reason people are protesting outside these migrant hotels. Because they’re concerned about the safety of their kids, who are now demonstrably at risk thanks to government policies;
“MIGRANT from a taxpayer-funded asylum hotel has been charged with attempting to kidnap a child, The Sun can reveal.
The Sudanese man appeared in court accused of attempting to take the girl of ten while she was with her father.”
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/36136231/migrant-charged-attempting-kidnap-child/
Clearly the country is now in danger, each of these atrocities against the people will inevitably stack up against the government and their cronies,
Why anyone would join a union that does represent it’s members is beyond me. But I suspect most teachers think the same way as the union and would not share Mr Pearson’s view.
Is it fair to say the days of the union ‘closed-shop’ ie you HAVE to be a member to work here, is dead, or is it still a thing in education sector?
Am I alone in not being in the least offended at Mrs Connolly’s entirely understandable tweet? Maybe I should be jailed for being insufficiently offended…
I wonder if a Catholic had objected would it have the same outcome?
We must remember that the former President, and now General Secretary, of the National Education Union is the Ethnic African Daniel Kebede of Ethiopian origin, his surname being from the Tigray tribal region of northern Ethiopia, where Islam first gained prominence in the country.
Islam seems to be following the Communist “Long March through the Institutions”…
“But he was dismissed after an internal investigation, prompted by a complaint from a Muslim representative of the National Education Union (NEU) at the school,..”
It is us that is being forced to integrate with the Islamic colonisers.
