GB News is Now Britain’s No1 News Channel

GB News has knocked the BBC off the top spot to become Britain’s most-watched news channel. Here’s its report:

The People’s Channel triumphed across key time slots in July, winning the ratings race across breakfast, mornings, weekday prime time and the coveted Sunday morning political slot.

This marks the first time the BBC News Channel has been overtaken by GB News for an entire month, a landmark achievement which comes just a month after GB News’ celebrated its fourth birthday.

Ben Briscoe, GB News’ Head of Programming, commented: “This is a seismic moment, not just for us, but for British broadcasting.

“We are ending the dominance of the BBC News Channel and Sky News.” …

The results are drawn from the industry’s official BARB ratings [July 2025], which track total share and average views.

They also show how, in July, Sky News ranked a distant third behind the two frontrunners, GB News and BBC News Channel.

Across July, GB News recorded the following results:

Full day – 6am to 2am:

For GB News, average views were 80.61k (1.34% share). BBC News Channel recorded 78.65k average views (1.30% share). Sky News recorded 67k average views (1.11% share). This puts GB News 2.5% ahead of the BBC News Channel, and 20% ahead of Sky News.

GB News Breakfast: Monday to Sunday – 6am to 9.30am:

Average views for GB News were 98.91k (3.57% share), followed by Sky News with 71.56k (2.58% share). This put GB News 38% ahead of Sky News. BBC News Channel was at 41.25k average views, (1.49% share).

Prime time weekdays (Monday to Friday) 6pm – 11pm:

GB News recorded average views of 102.69k (0.92% share), followed by BBC News Channel at 91.79k, (0.82% share). This puts GB News 12% higher than the BBC News Channel. Sky News was at 75.5k (0.67% share). This means, based on prime time average views, GB News was 36% higher than Sky News.

Sunday mornings political slot: 9.30am – 11am: The Camilla Tominey Show

The Camilla Tominey Show secured 123.9k average views (2.97% share), followed by BBC News Channel at 102.78k ( 2.47% share).

I guess they might have benefited from the health panic of about 5 years ago. Before, I used to spend a fair bit of time watching some of the BBC News output, but not these days. GB News have had some interesting characters broadcasting. Some of them were robust enough to criticise some of the official propaganda (such as Mark Steyn), which was quite refreshing.

Yes but they still ended up sacking Mark Steyn didn’t they?

I’m not surprised.
BBC is no longer worth watching.
Woke propaganda + cheap, derivative, repetitive trash.

Al-Beeb is just that – a propaganda channel.

If you want to find out what not to believe the BBC is the first stop.

if you want to know what is on the mind of the public then GB news and in many cases Talk TV.

Never had a telly, only radio, Radio 4 used to be good (apart from annoying prats like Jonathan Dimbleby). So never paid a Licence Fee, even when they said I was obliged to because, according to them, I had a computer connected to the internet!

I abandoned the BBC ten years ago. Crap. They deserve to dissolve into oblivion. All the good journalists left or died a long time ago.

Nothing but a propaganda amplifier.

Driving to work, I listen to Radio 4 every morning. I have been doing this for over 20 years.
I witnessed its gradual deterioration: these days it’s just awful.
A typical experience: some screeching woman’s voice complaining that the lack of female composers in classical music is entirely due to the patriarchy, hierarchical oppression and prejudice.
During the Brexit debate, there was a non-stop talk show of every Tom, Dick and Harry telling us what a catastrophic mistake it would be to leave the EU.
It’s not even one-sided, it’s just propaganda.

And the BBC’s not a very good propagandist either – which is shocking when you consider the resources at its disposal.

For a fist full of roubles

I find the mandatory left wing representation on their station irritating to say the least, but it does have the benefit of exposing their points of view and their justifucations to the full light of day, and it doesn’t come out very well.
It is a pity that the BBC and Sky weren’t subject to the same regulation and have representations of the average Brit’s view. Instead we get the repetitive drum beat of dull leftist propaganda and corrupted “facts”.

I disagree. Having the lefties on shows up the weakness of their case and often too the weakness of the interviewee. It is also a good thing to allow them to answer questions, as GB News does. in contrast to the talking-over by the BBC etc.

Also shows how unpleasant most of the Far Lefties are. Interesting how the likes of Pound and Laza have become less jolly now their party is the failing government.

I quite enjoy the Lefties. With a few exceptions (Lord Glasman is one) they invariably pick the most ridiculous and annoying characters they can find (ie Benjamin Button) who are guaranteed to irritate anyone who isn’t already a rabid lefty.

Why would anybody choose to watch news on the British Broadcorping Castration, which is so clearly the propaganda arm of those who purport to ‘lead’ the country?

Having realised I was being misinformed and fed particular narratives on the Consolidated Media, I was only too happy to tune in to GB news on its very first day. Ofcourse we all need to seek out information in other places rather than just on TV news where the OFCOM straightjacket is still firmly in place. But for TV News I have been so pleased to see the GB News development. Much of the dreadful stuff happening in this country would remain unknown to us if it were not for this Channel. It was Charlie peters reporting that woke the public up to what was happening in Rotherham etc. It is GB news that points to the mass immigration clutter and the Net Zero eco socialism. So This channel was definitely needed and I am happy to say that despite the early teething problems with sound etc that I stuck with it all the way through because the legacy Media needed to be challenged, and had been attempting to brainwash us for too long.

The BBC doesn’t do news; it does propaganda.

If GB News wasn’t there, we would know very little about the channel invasion, or the Rape Gangs. Which is why OFCOM will do anything it can to try and shut them down.

They are treading a fine line and on the whole, are doing it very well.

I am just very sorry that they threw Mark Steyn under a bus.
