Half of Public Think Islam is Incompatible with British Values
More than half of the public think Islam is incompatible with British values and 41% say Muslim immigrants have a negative impact on the UK, according to a survey. The Telegraph has more.
More than half of the public think Islam is not compatible with British values, according to a survey.
The YouGov polling also found that four in 10 feel Muslim immigrants have a negative impact on the UK.
The survey of 2,130 adults in mid-July asked people if they felt different groups of immigrants by religion generally have a positive or negative impact on the UK.
While 41% said Muslim immigrants have a negative impact, the proportions feeling this way were much lower for other groups.
Around 15% felt this way about Hindu immigrants, 14% about Sikh immigrants, 13% about Jewish immigrants and 7% about Christian immigrants.
Just under a quarter (24%) of respondents felt Muslim immigrants had a positive impact on the UK, lower than for any of the other religions stated.
Earlier this week, Angela Rayner, the Deputy Prime Minister, urged Labour colleagues to acknowledge people’s “real concerns”, pointing out that immigration was one of a number of factors having a “profound impact on society”, as she updated Cabinet on her work on social cohesion.
Some 53% of those polled said they believed Islam is not compatible with British values, while 25% said it is and 22% said they did not know.
Didn’t know, or were too afraid to admit to a pollster what they really thought?

Only half? I think it’s much more if you include the silent majority.
Perhaps the survey was carried out in area where 50% of the people are Islamic?

As ever with opinion polls, much depends on how the questions were framed.
Only 53%!
I know a few Muslims living in Britain who also say Islam is incompatible with British values. That’s why they travel to Britain, to escape Islam. And then they’re dismayed to find that the British value is to import and welcome precisely the type of nutjobs they were running from.
Absolutely, know many myself.
Have two in the family, two brothers in law. Moroccan and Turkish-Kurdish. They’re both quite critical of Britain’s approach to welcoming unconditionally the world’s scroungers.
These two migrated (a natural and normal process), as opposed to being pulled in by government initiatives. Two different things.
My father came to England from Czechoslovakia in 1973. Had to report to the police station every week for a year. Wasn’t allowed to travel abroad for a while longer. The UK apparently advised the US to refuse him a holiday/travel visa, while the US happily granted the visas to some of his friends who never left Prague! He couldn’t go on holiday with them.
As nonsensical then as it is today.
And, sadly, they dare not express such a view publicly, such is the hostility of the Islamists.
Islam thinks it is too.
Translated, Islam = ‘submission’.
Jihad is a holy war against infidels, any who aren’t Muslim.
Hudna is a temporary ceasing of hostilities to allow Islamists to regroup.
Islam is a killer virus that does not belong in the UK. End of.
Speaking of incompatible values ( and how long have you got when it comes to Islam? ), just two other examples. Don’t know if this first one is Muslims or not but clearly no British people would ever find this acceptable. The poor bird is still alive at this point but god knows what its fate was 🙁

Nothing gruesome but still disturbing because they’re carrying a live Canada goose along a corridor and into their flat. The guy filming doesn’t even intervene, just speaks with them, that’s what gets me. I’d even offer them money if it meant them handing over the poor creature and saving its life, but I certainly wouldn’t be able to let this go. These people are vile. ”Incompatible values” for sure.
Nobody believes that 53% figure. I think it’s quicker to say what IS compatible between Islam and British values. I’m at a loss…It’s like the meme says: ”Imagine a religion whose followers admit they want to kill/conquer you, then say you have a phobia if you don’t want to be killed/conquered.”

Precisely. And do we ever see these statistics writ large in the ‘legacy’ media?
As with many religions much of the information about it comes from the interpretation of its religious texts by scholars and priests. These are all human and as such are fallible and their statements are prone to opinion and bias.
Listening to the Imam and President of the Oxford Institute for British Islam, Dr Taj Hargey, on GB News at 12.40 today he clarifies what seems to be a pure version of Islam where peace and tolerance of all other religions is promoted.
He is talking about a version of Islam that I could live with that is compatible with the British way of life, but it is diametrically opposite of the aggressive form of Islam that is promoted on the streets of Britain by the, dare I say, politically motivated preachers in many of the local mosques.
There can be only one law of the land, however, as no law of man may override the law of Allah, Islam is incompatible with democracy and western society. The end.
That particular academic disagrees with your characterisatiobn of islam.
Too afraid to admit it? Well, it depends on how the poll was conducted. If it’s an anonymous online check box, people will say what they think. If approached on the street however, “don’t know” is more likely to mean the negative.

I do surveys on YouGov, trying to counteract what I imagine are the mainly woke idiots that do them, though maybe they delete my contributions.
The quality seems very low to me and a friend who works in the industry says they sometimes have to use YouGov data for things and it’s junk.
And if this is what a YoUGov poll says I bet you that there is in fact a much higher percentage of people who actually think there is a problem.
Plenty of Muslims make it very clear that THEY think Islam is incompatible with British values. As this survey demonstrated.

Islam is at odds with any civilised society, and many british muslims agree with that sentiment, but whilstever they do not condone the actions of the fanatics, the gang rapists etc, they are also part of the problem, and the notion that “you dont undestand” islam is rubbish, we understand only too well what this barbaric cult stands for.
