‘Schools of Sanctuary’ Brings US Open Borders Ideology into UK Schools

In June, you may remember I wrote about ‘Sanctuary Cities’ for the Daily Sceptic. In short, unbeknown to most voters, councils around the UK have been welcoming ‘sanctuary seekers’ (the new fashionable term for ‘refugees’), sometimes at a great cost to taxpayers. For instance, Islington Council has made £500,000 in grants available as part of its ‘Borough of Sanctuary Grants Programme’.

Today I wanted to introduce readers to the organisation spearheading ‘Sanctuary Cities’, appropriately titled ‘City of Sanctuary UK‘ (which I will refer to as CoS for short). It describes itself as “a small refugee-sector charity that works to build a movement of welcome in the UK, standing in solidarity with people seeking sanctuary” and adds: “We want to see a UK where people seeking sanctuary feel safe and a sense of belonging; are able to thrive and succeed; and where their voices are centred and heard.”

Are those kids wearing rainbow lanyards too? Nice touch.
Give it a few more years and we will be as vibrant as Lebanon.

This article brings to mind the refugees coming daily into our country mainly from France, and the possible link to the City of Sanctuary UK. I have often thought that the whole process is organised with money from the elite right before our eyes. George Soros was involved a few years ago, in the Biden time, to organise and pay for migrants to the border of the US.

Stating the obvious – most “asylum seekers” and “refugees” are in fact economic migrants, who rather than contribute to the building of their own countries would rather have a life of leisure in the UK.

Thanks once more.

I am not sure about “well intentioned”. Maybe the kids are, not sure about a lot of the adult leadership. Beneath many apparently well intentioned “liberals” there seems to lurk a egomaniac fascist.

And I wonder where the teaching unions stand on this. Because if you’re one of the ( few, presumably ) teachers who refuses to toe the line and go along with the dogmatic woke tripe you’re force fed ( particularly the new recruits ), with bovine-like obedience, then I think you’re better off being a member of the FSU than an actual trade union, because the latter definitely doesn’t have your back if you’re a dissenter. This article gives several examples and explores why unions are betraying their members; ”Historically, of course, unions have championed the principle (sometimes to a fault) that “an injury to one is an injury to all”, standing in solidarity with workers against bosses. But at the FSU we’ve seen any number of cases that prove just how historical this is. Nowadays, workers under investigation for expressing entirely lawful views that dissent from middle-class orthodoxies are more likely to be left to fight alone by the union to which they pay dues in exchange for support. And that’s if they’re lucky. More recently, a public sector worker was dismissed for gross misconduct after “supporting far-right activity” on Facebook, i.e. liking a video that expressed unease about… Read more »

I wonder how many would play the People’s Postcode Lottery if it knew where their money went. I saw it was funding a childrens climate change court case. The City Bridge Trust is a City of London fund that is connected to the funds set aside to look after London’s bridges from a century or more ago. The Fairbairn lot I have come across before and was left wondering what Esmee would make of what is done in her name today. You could say the same for a lot of these Trusts who are now far left.
