“Wounded PM gone in a year say allies of Angela Rayner”

God help us!
It really doesn’t matter who is the head of the Labour snake it’s still as poisonous to the country!

It will be genuinely hilarious if Rayner gets in.

I doubt anyone will be laughing. Brass neck doesn’t come close.

“I’m bullish about Britain. You should be too”

Ain’t it funny how you never heard a word from the invisible Robert Jenrick when his government where f-ing things up as bad as this lot are now!
Strange how he’s flapping his hypocritical lips when there’s a leadership challenge in the air

Very well put

The Tories cannot be trusted

As it stands I would probably give Reform a go but they have to deliver

He is starting to remind me of Matthew Hancock.

For a fist full of roubles

A simple illustration about the progress of house building in England.Rather says it all.

MPs have demanded that the two members of punk band Bobby Vylan “be arrested and prosecuted” like Lucy Connolly following their “offensive” chants at Glastonbury Festival

Great. Let’s just keep making Britain a dystopian hell hole where people are afraid to say things for fear of being arrested and prosecuted.

OR alternatively, why not call for Lucy Connolly to be released from prison and we go back to being able to not being afraid to speak.

I know which one I prefer.

Agreed – but you know Glastonbury is an ‘approved’ event, seemingly sponsored by the BBC (or may as well be)… so it’s ok

“How can anybody on the left who is worried about climate change signo off [the IMF and World Bank being put under the control of Wall Street banks]?”

(a) What makes you think it’s not already?
(b) If it isn’t, the people “on the left” will gladly sign off on it if there is some grifting scheme that they can get involved in. Like, I don’t know, set up a bureaucracy that they staff to run some aspect of it, institutionalise some link to some NGO they control which allows them to siphon off money.

‘Jobs for the boys’ – the left version

In his DT article above Roger Bootle seems to deny the relevance of monetary policy when criticising Margaret Thatcher. He likely forgot her administration inherited a complete mess with high and rising inflation, interest rates and union militancy.

By contrast Labour simply inherited incompetence and over spending which they could have fixed by now.

On empty homes in Salcombe, Camden Council recently approved an application on the the construction of a 26 storey tower on top of Swiss Cottage station despite the damage to 5 conservation areas as it would provide 237 flats over 150 of which would be for sale. The particular developer has offices in Dubai Honk Kong and Shanghai and it was clear that their preferred market was overseas, probably a forward sale to a single fund to buy off plan; with the likely result most flats would be empty and not help with any housing shortage. Camden refused to consider any restrictions as in Salcombe St.Ives and Whitby amongst others

I’m sure this has been pointed out more than once on here. Perhaps I’m wrong.

Not very effective was it? Never caused me any panic. Actually I’d never heard of this tax funded gobbler.
