Integration Is a Myth – Bradford’s Parallel Society Is Thriving

In Turbulent Times, Richard North argues that Mirpuri Muslim communities in Bradford form self-segregating, anti-assimilatory enclaves that undermine British democracy, identity and social cohesion – while critics of this reality are gaslit and silenced. Here’s an excerpt:

“We must find out what unites us to avoid divisions…”, says the fatuous independent commission on community cohesion. Well, I can only speak of what I know, but when it comes to divisions, this got me thinking as to what is happening on my doorstep.

Let me count the ways in which division is apparent.

The Bradford “Pakistani” community is made up overwhelmingly of the Mirpuri diaspora, which occupies self-sustaining ghettoes where they mostly form the majority. The denizens do not mix with outsiders at a social level; they have their own social structures (baradari) which serve to provide a framework for their own governance, independent of the host nation structures.

Many retain their home languages, which are often spoken in their homes – where many wives don’t speak English at all – and increasingly in the streets and public buildings, often demanding state-funded interpreters if English is required. They expect to be provided with translations of official forms and documents.

Almost all females wear the hijab (headscarf), many wear full-length robes (abaya) and an increasing number don religious dress, including the burka and nikab – which is not the traditional dress of their region. Most older males wear the traditional garb of their home country, the shalwar kameez and the takiyah skullcap and sport full-length, untrimmed beards. Increasingly, younger men and boys are adopting this traditional dress, even third generation immigrants.

The baradari members are all Muslims. They practice their religion in their own distinctive buildings (mosques), and ostentatiously celebrate their religious festivals, often with banners and street decorations supplied at public expense. They demand public facilities for prayer and have secured exemption from humane slaughter rules on religious grounds, to produce “Halal” meat. …

And, although blasphemy laws were abolished in England and Wales in 2008, and in Scotland in 2021, there is an active Muslim lobby campaigning for an Islamophobia law which, if enacted, will effectively re-introduce a blasphemy law, applicable solely to Islam, giving the religion a unique, privileged position in the UK.

Notwithstanding the current absence of any specific blasphemy law, communities are known to react violently to perceived slights to their religion, as in the Salman Rushdie affair, the Lady of Heaven film protests and the Batley teacher incident, where the teacher in question was forced into hiding. …

Despite being treated as places of worship for tax purposes (to which effect they are exempted from Council Tax), their mosques also act as community hubs and, effectively, their “town halls”, as well as often housing their religious schools, or madrassas. The communities have their own religious courts, which they treat as superior to the host nation courts, especially in terms of divorce and domestic disputes.

The communities support their own micro-economies which operate on a trans-national basis. They have their own banks and financial institutions, and their own financial systems for loans and transferring money, none of which are compatible with Western systems. …

At the national level, MPs in the House of Commons tend to concern themselves disproportionately with issues of interest to their electorates, many focusing on Gaza to the exclusion of domestic concerns.

Not for nothing has Patrick Nash observed that Mirpuri baradari kinship groups, “represent one of the most underappreciated threats to democratic governments in the 21st century”. The Mirpuris have only a vague understanding of the notion of democracy and exploit its weaknesses for their own benefit.

Yet these people are in our midst. It would be hard to imagine a more disagreeable community, one which makes few if any concessions to the host nation. And yet, we are supposed to craft “a shared vision of how we want to live together” with these people.

But for those of us on the edge of these ghettoes, who watch with dismay their steady encroachment into the white enclaves, the differences are too great. The is no question of a shared vision – only rejection of these alien communities which have next to nothing in common with us.

And the worst of it is the gaslighting where we are told that “The UK is a thriving, multi-ethnic and multi-faith democracy where most people in towns, cities, and rural areas get on with each other”. When, through bitter experience, we disagree, we are branded “racist” and told to change our ways.

If this continues, and these communities continue to be forced on us, many believe that our destiny will be measurable in the precise metric terms of 7.62mm, multiplied many times.

I read this excellent piece on TCW, I don’t always see eye to eye with Richard north but absolutely nails it here, should be required reading for all MPs and bbc editors.

A great article by Richard North. I followed his blogging from the earliest days (I’m guessing 2002 ish) until the referendum victory in 2016. His early work (often with Chistopher Booker) was particularly eye opening for me. I’ve always enjoyed and appreciated his posts – even when I disagreed with him.

He has well argued (and referenced) opinions and principles (even if I might sometimes disagree) and sticks to them and doesn’t suffer fools. Having worked with Farage in the past (and seen him up close), I would guess that it would be extremely unlikely that he would be able to help Reform (with Farage still on the scene) and I would guess – like many of us – he gave up with the Tories a long long time ago. It’s a real shame – as he could and should be a real asset to those on right of centre politics.

He’s interesting and I read his blog regularly. But he won’t accept any disagreement / dissent from his views in the comments …. definitely not the traits of a Team Player and one who would not be able to work harmoniously under Nigel’s leadership.

Shat on by the Telegraph at the end for his views on Brexit to the extent that they sometimes did not post his column on their online version which of course runs contrary to websites having more than the print version not LESS. But they could not sack him as he was such a longstanding staff member.

Something similar appears to be the case in and around Stamford Hill, London, which is heavily populated by Hasidic Jews. I’ve not been to Bradford recently and though I have spent some time in Stamford Hill I don’t live there so I can’t comment from personal experience. Curious to know whether the experience of “other” local residents in the two areas is similar. Is it simply about numbers (there are not many Hasidim in the UK and they are hardly likely to “take over”) or are there other differences in behaviour? I used to pass by the infamous Finsbury Park Mosque and never had any issues despite Finsbury Park having a healthy dose of Thug Life – but that doesn’t mean I would want to live near it.

Can someone explain this? I don’t understand it.

The author is implying that these communities have access to ‘unofficial imports’ of Russian origin which make 7.62mm holes in things, the letters A and K, and number 47 springs to mind

It could mean that our people will have access to similar (or 5.56mm) solutions?
7.62 is a better round in my opinion preferably used through an FN FAL (SLR in British use).

7.62 X 39 is the AK round, 7.62 X 51 NATO is the nato version the clue us in the name, also known as 308, excellent hunting round.

5.56 I think while a decent round for hunting smaller game lacks stopping power and I suspect in the new infantry rifle long overdue to replace the rather poor SA80 we can expect something like the 6.5 creedmore or other intermediate round ie lighter than 7.62 NATO but within more oompth than 5.56 ..

In the context of the UK, the British people are so hopelessly disarmed it’s all completely theoretical .

And let’s face it an all in civil war would be a horrific business.

Far better ti use parliamentary means they look crap but actually work surprisingly well, just slower than you might want.

But still better than shooting.

Having read it since it was the Lockdown Sceptic, I love the Daily Sceptic – but this reference to ‘7.62mm, multiplied many times’ (I too had to look it up) makes me consider cancelling my subscription. I read this as a chilling call to violence and would be surprised if Toby Young would want his name associated with anything so incendiary.
I don’t like the closed communities any more than most of us, but surely we Brits have better ideas than this?
Apologies all round if I have misunderstood this, but looking at other comments I fear I have not.

What Dr North is saying is that like many countries with unfettered immigration there is a civil war in the offing on religious grounds. Not quite like Catholics vs Protestants but more Believers vs Non-believers.

Multi-cultural, as distinct from multi-ethnic, is the Trojan horse which will destroy the country. Cultures are immiscible, one will always naturally seek dominance over the other… by tolerating the intolerable, we sow the seeds of our own destruction.

Good point. The courageous Archbishop of Philadelphia, Charles Chaput, once said,

“We need to remember that Tolerance is not a Christian Virtue…
Evil preaches Tolerance until it becomes Dominant,
then seeks to Silence the Good.”

Anybody with an ounce of common sense knows that non-homogeneous societies fragment into subgroups.
Of course I, as s Christian, will feel naturally comfortable in a group of fellow Christians, who understand and accept the million small cultural references, who are on the same wavelength, who share my sense of identity.
In contrast, during my contact, with, say, with Muslims there is always going to be a sense of awkwardness, especially as in the last 30 years the governing elite has done whatever they could to heighten a sense of resentment and grievance in their community.
This will only get worse.

The Musulman cult is the most ant-Christian, Christophobic cult imaginable. As a Catholic I can see with 100% veracity that if the CC had not fought like maniacs for 1000 years against the Mahometans this country would be comprised of ass in the air carpet biters with their 4 wives and underage concubines.

If you have 5% Muslims you won’t notice it much. At 10% you might start to notice something..At 20% and you definitely will, and by the time you get to 30% it is too late. At 40% your country is lost. —–Just look at Lebanon.

Well said. We know they are invaders and they were let in by traitors. We have the names and there will be punishment. A prediction not a call to arms. History demonstrates clearly what happens when an elite abuses it’s people and sides with an invader

Not just Pakistanis, of course. Let’s just call it what it is: Islamization; ”London is now home to a school where not one of the pupils’ first languages is English. Welcome to Kobi Nazrul Primary School—named after the national poet of Bangladesh but which, curiously, you find situated in London’s East End; just a stone’s throw from the East London Mosque (one of Europe’s largest), which comfortably accommodates 7,000 Muslims. Anyone familiar with the English Monopoly board might be shocked to learn that, according to the 2021 Census, Whitechapel (the school’s locale) is home to a 51.3% Asian population. Of the school’s 243 pupils, 92.5% are Bangladeshi who speak Bengali as their first language. Ofsted—the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills—apparently gave the school a ‘glowing’ report, coupled with a ‘good’ rating. But then, at least the school wasn’t ‘too white’—something Ofsted vehemently objects to. The influx of Islam set against the backdrop of cockney London is striking. The Victorian terraced houses still stand, but the pie-and-mash shops and pubs frequented by the Kray twins are long gone. In their stead, Palestinian flags adorn the windows; ‘no ball games’ is written in both English and Bengali; and in… Read more »

It’s a mystery why people attempt to replicate that which they claim to seek to leave behind but it’s a common theme, not confined to one group… Democrats fleeing blue cities in America, for instance.

Perhaps it’s simply that they’re lying about the reason they’re moving?

Even worse, in Vienna indigenous pupils are so rare that those who attend are excluded from conversing with their fellow pupils as they do not speak arabic and sadly think they should learn it.

I used to be a fairly tolerant person but no more. I’m sick to the back teeth of hearing about multiculturalism, multi-ethnic, multi-faith and integration – or lack of.

I’m sick of being expected to kowtow to others who value nothing of British values, except the free handouts and one-sided concessions.

I’m sick of the UK being a multicultural cesspit and expected to ‘welcome’ those who’ve put nothing in it but extract as much as they can from it.

I’m sick of being expected to accommodate the wishes, wants, demands of those who have no intention of contributing anything of value to the UK.

I’m sick of being treated as a second class citizen by whichever political party is in government. Governments who favour any ragtag and bobtail over the many hard working taxpayers, many who toil over the years to support their families despite government intentions to continually strip them of any wealth, assets, livelihoods, even their dignity.

I’m sick of it.

You’re right— it’s creepy, especially knowing that all those “Islamic Centres” they’ve built in the West are also being quietly used for military training. Who knows what weaponry they have stashed in the mosques, ready to unleash upon a helplessly disarmed British population?

The Americans were wise to enshrine their right to bear arms in their Constitutional Second Amendment, which was directly inspired by the same right in the 1689 English Bill of Rights. All forgotten here now…

This is basically what happened in Bosnia. Does anyone remember the liberal press hand wringing about how “people that had previously lived happily side by side” were slaughtering each other?

Do our Establishment really want that to be Britain’s future?

The real world is not like it is depicted in Soap Opera’s like Eastenders where all the “diversity” is having a pint and playing darts. The real world is “them and us”. Not because we want it that way, but because they do.
