Glastonbury Finally Apologises Over Appalling Anti-Israel Chants Broadcast Live on BBC
Glastonbury has finally issued a grovelling apology after rap punk duo Bob Vylan chanted “death to the IDF” live on the BBC. The Mail has the details.
In a statement released this morning the festival said it was “appalled” by the actions of rap punk duo Bob Vylan on stage on Saturday.
It added: “Their chants very much crossed a line and we are urgently reminding everyone involved in the production of the festival that there is no place at Glastonbury for antisemitism, hate speech or incitement to violence.”
It comes after Wes Streeting called out the festivaland the BBC for allowing it to take place yesterday.
The Health Secretary speaking on Sky News this morning said: “I thought it was appalling to be honest. I think the BBC and Glastonbury have got questions to answer about how we solve such a spectacle on our screens.
“I also think it is pretty shameless publicity stunt that I don’t want to give too much indulgence to for that reason.”
Police have launched a probe into the comments made by Bob Vylan, who led chants of “Free Palestine” and “Death to the IDF”, on yesterday afternoon.
The singer from the band, who keeps his identity secret, also declared “from the river to the sea Palestine… will be free” – regarded by many in the Jewish community as a call for Israel’s elimination.
The entire performance was live-streamed on iPlayer and the corporation has since been lambasted for failing to cut the broadcast immediately after the antisemitic chanting.
The incident prompted calls for the band members to be arrested over claims they had incited violence. Avon and Somerset Police last night said they were examining video evidence and investigating if any offence had been committed.
Campaign against Antisemitism have also announced they are “formally complaining to the BBC” over the incident, saying in a social media post: “Now in the UK, the chants are indistinguishable from the chants in Tehran, broadcast by our state broadcaster.” …

The broadcast plunged the BBC into a major crisis with Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy demanding “an urgent explanation” from BBC Director-General Tim Davie into “what due diligence it carried out ahead of the Bob Vylan performance”. …
Bob Vylan, who formed eight years ago in London, refuse to reveal their real names because of what they call the “surveillance state”.
Instead the singer calls himself Bobby Vylan and the drummer Bobbie Vylan.
Addressing the crowd of around 30,000, Bobby said he had to be “careful” because their performance was “live on the BBC”. He then, however, led the “free, free Palestine” chant, then changing it to “death, death to the IDF”.
“Hell, yeah, from the river to the sea Palestine must, will be, Inshallah, it will be free,” he added.
Stop Press: Nothing better illustrates the darkness that has entered the soul of today’s progressives than the Glastonbury festival crowd’s response yesterday to punk duo Bob Vylan, says Steven Pollard in the Mail.
Stop Press 2: Another week, another utter disgrace for the BBC when it comes to antisemitism and the safety of Britain’s Jewish community, writes Danny Cohen in the Telegraph.

See how the Ethnic African of Jamaican origin copies Bob Dylan’s famous name by just changing one letter, hoping some of Dylan’s fame will rub off on him, while he and his Ethnic African of Jamaican origin band member also copies Bob Dylan’s name in a slight variation, both of them concealing all biographical information about themselves. Why?
Raised in Ipswich and goes by the name of Pascal Robinson-Foster.

Glastonbury organizers appalled?
Are you sure it’s not misprint? Applauded, more like.
Let me predict: nothing will happen.
The police will look into it, then decide that no offence has been committed.
There will be some words of condemnation from a few politicians, then it will fizzle out.
All that has happened is that the window of acceptability has been moved slightly towards the more open forms of hatred towards the Jews.
Give it a few more years, with the increased Islamization of Britain at point this will become commonplace. People will be able to walk down the street chanting “death to the Jews”, and nobody will bat an eyelid.
But stop for a minute of silent prayer outside an abortion clinic – you will be arrested within minutes.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is Britain in the 2020’s. Let’s not have any illusions about what a bastion of freedom and democracy we are. It’s all bollox.
At some point, within the next few years, there will be some (possibly artificially created crisis, like Covid) and then the whole country will turn unashamedly totalitarian. Probably some form of Islamo-fascist dystopia, except you won’t be able to call it that.
But a tweet which didn’t invite violence and which was hastily deleted and which was followed by a retraction and clarification gets you more time in prison than a convicted paedophile.
Lucy Connolly, if you’re reading this, hold tight.
Of course not.
When it’s a woke cause, it’s an expression of artistic freedom.
When it’s not a woke cause, it’s hate crime, incitement to violence, literally 1930’s Germany.

I think they want to take her child away from her, by convincing her husband to let them blast him with radiation and chemo for a “diagnosis” of cancer, to get rid of the father, then keep the mother in prison on some pretext, so they can take the child and give her to Third World foster parents for “re-education” = brainwashing. “Rubbing her nose in diversity”, as Andrew Neather warned us years ago. So, the talentless Bob Vylan insults the blessed IDF and therefore Israel and the allegedly right wing media and politicians lose their minds, proclaim it to be the worst thing ever, demand they are sent to the tower and that Glastonbury should be carpet bombed to stop it from happening again.
Yet he chants, “HEARD YOU WANT YOUR COUNTRY BACK? HAH, SHUT …. UP”, to British people concerned about immigration and there is complete silence, crickets, nothing at all from the alleged right in this joke of a country.
All the bleating about the insults to the IDF/Israel and their silence about the “Country back” line reveals them to be, at best, perfomative fair-weather friends, at worst, enemies.
At least it makes it easy to tell who our real friends are.
My nephew and his girlfriend (now wife) went to Glastonbury when they were students.
Their experience: people throwing bottles full of urine during concerts.
To top it all: while they were watching some performance, somebody shat in their tent. So they got back and found a pile of human excrement in the middle of it.
For me, that pretty much says it all.
His real name isn’t a secret. This from UK Lawyers for Israel; “A singer in hip hop duo Bob Vylan, has been reported to the police following his sickening chant of “Death to the IDF”, during his set at Glastonbury. Oh, I’m sure even if he was charged, an experienced team of top lawyers would jump on the case and prove that there was absolutely nothing wrong with what he had said.
In fact they would demand a public apology from the Jewish community for unfounded accusations.
I’m surprised the resident self-confessed ‘free speech absolutists’ haven’t been on yet, defending him. After all, ”they’re only words”. ”Sticks and stones…” and all that. The thing is, words, when they lead to propagandizing and radicalizing these half-baked nutty cultists who just lap all of this hateful bilge and rhetoric up, can most definitely result in all sorts of nastiness and violence for those most susceptible to this type of brainwashing. I think history is generously littered with examples of what people are capable of as a result of indoctrination. Of course, we cannot stamp it all out, such as with the internet, but displays such as this and all of the hate-filled protests, where people are calling for women to be punched, death to Jews etc, we most certainly can. You don’t get to spew hate and hide behind a defense of ”but free speech”. What that idiot repeatedly said on that stage is not him exercising his right to freedom of speech. Only the deluded would argue that this clearly crosses a line.
This deluded person believes in his right to say these things. Better we know that this is what he and his supporters think. I’m not keen on the BBC broadcasting Glastonbury at my expense but then I think the BBC in its current form should not exist.
Proving to a jury that the live audience of that performance suffered “harassment, alarm, or distress” might be hard work. Looking on the bright side, it tends to suggest that the beeb is a bit inexperienced at censorship, after all.
I agree: surely a jury would take the view that while the Man On The Clapham Omnibus might be distressed, the Person In The Glastonbury Audience would be appreciative. And the BBC would be ecstatic.
It would be better if the organisers of Glastonbury were to inform “artistes” what was the purpose of the ebvent: musical entertainment, not political grandstanding or anti-semitic, anti-western agit-prop. The same goes for medial news presenters.

Who cares about a bunch of dead kids/genocide in Gaza.
This is obviously much more important
It certainly is genocide. Do you think all these letters to the US President, Canadian and British Prime Ministers are not serious? Or this doctor’s testimony before the UN Security Council? Or these NHS doctors’ video report? Are all those children with burned faces or blown off feet supposed to be terrorists? Are the photographs and reports in https://www.middleeasteye.net/, https://www.972mag.com/, https://electronicintifada.net/ and others, all concocted? The now over 800 heavy lift cargo flights of weapons and bombs that USA has provided to Israel are somehow not used? Do you think the 100,000 tons of explosives dropped on Gaza the past 20 months all missed their targets and landed in the Mediterranean? Do you know how many hospitals have been totally destroyed in Gaza? How many medical workers Israel has killed there? How many journalists have been killed? How many UN workers Israel has killed in Gaza? Then there are all those testimonies to the ICJ …

Nobody should chant “Death to …” anyone, anywhere, especially not on a public stage. But 22 comments of outrage, in full support of Israel?
In other words, as Caitlin Johnstone summarized:
SAYING “death to” the foreign military which is presently committing genocide: wrong, unacceptable, outrageous, no.
CAUSING death to a civilian population because of their ethnicity by that same foreign military force: fine, normal, absolutely, yes.

Calling for the death of people is creating alarm and distress for them. He must be arrested and tried. And probably get 3 years inside. Oh, wait, he’s black.
Given the tone of recent articles here, one may begin to suspect if the DS less impartial than it suggests. Is there any room, at all, to be sceptical of the one side that everyone seems to laud? Political statements have been made pretty much, year-on-year, at Glastonbury, which at £400 a ticket, is more a rich man’s grunge ‘festival’ if anything, so everyone gets their knickers in a twist because one man chants about ‘death’ to an armed force that is in, in some peoples eyes, engaged in genocide. We can’t jump up and down when a Police Chief is suspended for exercising freedom of speech yet give a visceral knee-jerk response when some bloke says a few words, speech that we don’t like. If what he said upset you, consider, perhaps the comments of the British Government in 2020 when they told you not to kill granny but then suggested you eat Christmas dinner with granny by sitting her by an open window in winter and then pulled granny’s fuel allowance Honestly the distraction element in this whole nonsense is clear, and the alarming aspect is the amount of ‘free thinkers’ here that fall for it..some are probably… Read more »

The RPTB/ The West are pro Israel ie HMG supplies arms and intelligence to Israel, most MP’s are “friends of Israel”.

I don’t understand this: — Ethnic Africans chant “Death to the IDF!” in a large crowd. Nothing happens to them. — Muslims chant “Death to the UK!” in a large crowd. Nothing happens to them. — Muslim Gangs brandishing swords and machetes rampage through British streets. They are advised by police to stash their machetes in the local mosque. Nothing happens to them. — Ethnic African politician chants about White People “Let’s slit their throats!” in a large crowd. He is immediately granted bail, free until his long-delayed trial. — Muslims attack police officers, leaving one with a broken jaw, in a large crowd at an airport. I’m afraid to disillusion you as I was at Glasto, althought i didn’t see this particular band, but the overwhelming majority of the 200,000 crowd would be pro Palestinian. The Palestinian flag was very much in evidence. Not an Israeli one in sight. And as for investigating them for inciting violence, they are having a laugh. Glastonbury is the most peaceful, law abiding city on the planet for those 5 days.
It’s a shame the organisers didn’t arrange for people to fly over the stage on motorised hang gliders brandishing guns for the true October 7th ambience.

Just think from the Beatles ” All you need is love” to this Bob Vylan tripe. Britain has indeed fallen.
According to Streeting the BBC and Glastonbury only “have questions to answer”. —–I bet Lucy Connolly wished she had been given the opportunity to “answer some questions”. Instead she is still locked up for another 2 years. If that is what she deserves then these absurd pop groups should be in a cell next to her.
The stupidity of Bob Zylan and his audience’s disgusting chant is that it makes valid criticism of Israeli’s Zionist government and the IDF’s murderous brutality against civilians appear, to the hard of thinking, as if it is racist.

And then all the testimonies to the ICJ … Additionally disturbing is that UK is a signatory to the UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, and… Read more »
Nobody should chant “Death to …” anyone, anywhere, especially not on a public stage.
If what he said upset you, consider, perhaps the comments of the British Government in 2020 when they told you not to kill granny but then suggested you eat Christmas dinner with granny by sitting her by an open window in winter and then pulled granny’s fuel allowance Honestly the distraction element in this whole nonsense is clear, and the alarming aspect is the amount of ‘free thinkers’ here that fall for it..some are probably… Read more »
When did the DS ever say they were impartial? They are not required to be impartial just to please you!
Their motto as seen at the top of this page is
“Question Everything. Stay Sane. Live Free.”
And that’s exactly what we all should be doing.
They say “question everything” and as such are admirably anti the narrative on practically everything- covid, net zero, TheScience, immigration etc
The RPTB/ The West are pro Israel ie HMG supplies arms and intelligence to Israel, most MP’s are “friends of Israel”.
The DS though never question the narrative when it comes to Israel
They are immediately granted bail, free until their long-delayed trial. — Ethnic European writes that she doesn’t care whether British Patriots Protesting Against the Murder of British Children burn down a hotel or not. She is arrested and held in prison for months under Coercive Remand Psychological Torture, denied bail until she submits to her bent lawyer’s advice to Plead Guilty to “Violent Disorder”, instantly thrown back into prison, sentenced to nearly 3 years, then only weeks before she is due to be released halfway through her sentence, she is manhandled by prison… Read more »
Presumably prison terms at least as long as that of Lucy Connolly, will be given within days?
I’m afraid to disillusion you as I was at Glasto, althought i didn’t see this particular band, but the overwhelming majority of the 200,000 crowd would be pro Palestinian. The Palestinian flag was very much in evidence. Not an Israeli one in sight. And as for investigating them for inciting violence, they are having a laugh. Glastonbury is the most peaceful, law abiding city on the planet for those 5 days.
Disillusion? In the sense that we are surprised it wasn’t all of the crowd, obviously the BBC, and most of the performers?
It’s a shame the organisers didn’t arrange for people to fly over the stage on motorised hang gliders brandishing guns for the true October 7th ambience.
I think we can deduce that the Eavis family are very concerned that they might not get their highly lucrative festival licence next year.
Poor Lucy being wrongly advised to plead guilty was also a major part of the problem.
The stupidity of Bob Zylan and his audience’s disgusting chant is that it makes valid criticism of Israeli’s Zionist government and the IDF’s murderous brutality against civilians appear, to the hard of thinking, as if it is racist.
