Victory for Darlington Nurses as They Win Landmark Battle for Female-Only Hospital Changing Room

The Darlington nurses – eight pioneering campaigners who formed their own union to defend the rights of women – have won a landmark battle for a female-only changing room in an NHS hospital. The Mail has the story.

The Darlington nurses launched a legal action saying transgender policies put them at risk, deprived them of dignity and breached their human rights.

They claimed a biological male colleague identifying as a woman called Rose stared at their breasts as they were getting undressed and lingered too long in the changing room. One nurse had a panic attack after Rose repeatedly asked when they were alone, “Are you getting changed yet?”

Now, with their case heading to the courts, Health Secretary Wes Streeting has intervened, ordering Darlington Memorial Hospital to give the women their own room.

One of them, Bethany Hutchison, said they “hugely appreciate” the action “to restore our safety and dignity in the workplace in line with the law”.

And she said the nurses would not “stop until this action is extended urgently to female workers across the NHS without any unnecessary delay”.

The Darlington nurses sued their NHS trust a year ago, winning overwhelming support across the country. “Millions of women stand with them,” said J.K. Rowling.

Their victory comes after it emerged last week that NHS chiefs have been forced to rip up their pro-trans guidance after it was rendered illegal by the Supreme Court.

The NHS Confederation, which represents trusts, has quietly withdrawn guidance telling hospitals that they should allow trans people to use their chosen lavatories and changing rooms.

A senior NHS England official visited Darlington Memorial Hospital unannounced last week and described the changing facilities for female staff as “inadequate”.

The official apologised to one of the Darlington nurses, promising to act “with speed” by providing male, female and gender-neutral changing rooms, adding: “We want you to feel comfortable and safe.”

Last year, after raising concerns the nurses were told by HR that they needed to get “re-educated”, “compromise” and “be more inclusive”.

After the nurses publicised their claim, the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust gave them a ‘temporary’ office for changing into uniforms. However, supporters of the nurses said that the office had no lockers and opened on to a public corridor, resulting in the women branding it as “dehumanising” and “humiliating”.

When their union was reluctant to lend its support, the eight nurses formed their own, the Darlington Nursing Union and submitted their proposals for a way forward to Mr Streeting.

Good.

But why would NHS chiefs have even gone down their pro- trans agenda road when the law didn’t require them to do so? Who is really pulling their strings?

You go, girls!

Why something as simple as women not having to get changed in front of men should need courts and government ministers however…

Indeed. Sharon Davies agrees, as do all sane people who possess a decent amount of common sense. It should’ve been that one, lone trans bloke that was made to choose between getting changed in the male facilities or the storage cupboard;

“We are living in a very strange world where we as woman have to celebrate actually getting our women only changing rooms back.”

Fantastic news, and a victory for common sense at last. Well done to those Darlington Nurses for fighting back against the madness!

Oh the irony of forcing workers everywhere to take “Safeguarding Training” to protect women and children from predatory males, only to then force women and children to undress in front of predatory males ogling them by pretending to be female. This is what extreme feminism and trans brainwashing has led to— a kind of Mass Insanity.

Men & boys also need protecting against women & girls pretending to be male in order to invade the Male Private Spaces like locker rooms. Not even female coaches should be allowed to invade a male locker room.

Brilliant.
Every decent man respects a women’s absolute right to single sex spaces.
Any man that doesn’t respect this right is a disgusting pervert.

And yet there’s men on here that maintain these are not “absolute rights” at all, but privileges. These would be the same individuals ( or one, in particular, but who always gets support for his anti-women posts ) that think the trans ideology isn’t an attack on female’s sex-based rights, irrespective of the evidence to the contrary.
This illustrates the fact that misogyny takes various forms, but it all just amounts to the same thing: a generalised anti-female sentiment.

It’s good in so far as Streeting has ordered the change at this one hospital, but he did so before it was decided in court so that a legal precedent was not set.

The same order needs to be applied everywhere in all hospitals and indeed anywhere else with changing facilities.

The official said Darlington hospital should provide male female and gender neutral changing rooms. Presumably large hospitals will have quite a few changing rooms so staff can get changed close to where they’re working rather than having to spend ages walking from a changing room to their ward etc. Multiply the cost of providing multiple gender neutral changing rooms, most of which will never be used, by the number of hospitals, doctors surgeries etc. and this is £millions being wasted pandering to a tiny minority of people who shouldn’t be working in the NHS if they’re ignorant of basic biology.

Wouldn’t they also need to provide a “Trans Men” changing room and a “Trans Women” changing room? Since we all know that trans men ARE men and trans women ARE women, then surely there will soon be complaints that separately gendered rooms are required for trans people as well…

Congratulations to those women.

And shame on the transvestite who was abusing their privacy and the NHS Authorities who facilitated it.

The term “NHS Chiefs” does not represent all who make up “the NHS “. It refers to the NHS confederation ,the majority of which are non clinical and managerial, hence the totally non biological beliefs that have been adopted. Not to say that some clinicians don’t share such unscientific sympathies.

Unbelievable that it takes the Health Minister to force the local Trust to bring in a female only safe space for the female only staff they had previously disciplined.
No mention of the cost to the NHS from this lunacy and what extra treatment could have been carried out with these funds.
I also want to know if ‘Rose’ is allowed anywhere near children and vulnerable female patients.

How come nobody’s suggested giving ‘Rose’ a bunch of fives?

Brilliant! Found your own union. Hopefully non-woke nurses can join them.

Expecting medically qualified nurses and doctors who understand the difference between men and women, wtf do the Trans doctors and nurses actually believe? And what happened to Nurse Peggie and the transvestite Doctor? Didn’t hear much from NHS Tayside or Holyrood about their reinstatement of female only changing rooms.
