Asylum Hotel Fires Blamed on Migrant Couriers’ E-bikes

A string of fires at a London asylum hotel has been linked to lithium batteries used by migrant couriers. The Telegraph has the story.

The Telegraph has established that the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has been called six times to a single hotel housing hundreds of male migrants since 2023.

One of those blazes was caused by a lithium battery bursting into flames while charging in an asylum seeker’s room. The battery pack was believed to have been used to power a migrant’s e-bike used to deliver fast food and groceries ordered through app companies, including Deliveroo and Just Eat.

It has now emerged that migrants in Home Office hotels found with “dangerous” e-bike batteries indoors can have the devices confiscated.

The increasing popularity of e-bikes amongst asylum seekers working for courier delivery companies has raised the prospect their batteries pose an increasing and serious fire risk.

It was recently revealed how some asylum seekers are paying off people smuggler debts by illegally working as bike couriers and making up to £500 a month.

Video footage from the London hotel showed couriers going to and from the premises fitting and removing battery packs on their e-bikes.

A source has now shared evidence which shows electrical fittings, including plug sockets and concealed wiring in the walls, have been scorched in blazes at the hotel, suggesting faulty electrical equipment was responsible.

Why are the authorities not investigating these delivery companies? They are employing illegals and that is, well, illegal.

It’s like a 3 in 1 article this, isn’t it? The issue of migrants being put up in hotels, the fact they’re able to work illegally and the electric bikes being a fire hazard.
Meanwhile, isn’t it an absurd state of affairs how the French Navy are actively escorting migrants into British waters and the Royal Navy are conspicuous by their absence in defending the U.K? I suppose they’re all busy getting ready to take part in the ‘Pride’ offensive right about now;

”Happening right NOW in the CHANNEL

FRENCH WARSHIP & ENFORCEMENT VESSEL are currently escorting 2 boats full of ILLEGALS across the channel

Two Border Force Vessels Volunteer & Typhoon are positioned off the coast off Hastings ready to transfer the migrants over and bring them back to Dover

French warships have been escorting these two dinghies across the channel since 6am this morning as smugglers move further down the coast as French police deploy new tactics of attempting to stop migrants getting in to boats in shallow water to avoid more deaths in the channel.”

Why do we spend so much money on this? If they want to risk the crossing then just let them try – and then arrest those that do survive and deport them the Falklands Detention Centre.

It’s closely coordinated because there is a “secret deal” between the UK and France that “we’ll take our fair share” of the criminal migrants.

For the sake of appearances, the UK Government pretends it wants to stop it and Macron pretends he’s trying. It’s just theatre.

And we (the British taxpayer) pay Macron £500 million? This is corruption at the highest level. I wonder how much Stalin gets?

exactly, same in Europe

I suspect they are all self employed. NI numbers seem easy to get as there are more in issue than the entire UK population.

And Deliveroo pays the bank account provided. The bank accounts belong to the people smugglers. There is no way the British authorities don’t know this and haven’t decided to ignore it.

They cannot get an NI number, they are not permitted to work! The DWP have a lot to answer for.

  1. If they are migrants why are they working? why are the delivery companies not being charged with a crime in aiding and abetting criminal activity?
  2. Are these same Migrants in receipt of tax payer funded benefits? housing? food?
  3. How are they able to afford e bikes?

It strikes me that companies like Deliveroo and just Eat are sponging off the tax payer, encouraging ilegal migration, and making a packet off our backs.

However will anything be done? No

Does this mean that there will be no need for the locals to set the hotels on fire as the residents are doing it themselves?

If Lucy Connoly had Tweeted, “give them all an ebike for all I care!” then a lot of unpleasantness could have been avoided.

Incidentally, it’s a wake-up call to anyone storing an ebike, particularly an older ebike in their house.

The elites (sic) from all governing parties and others to the left have assured us for three decades that immigration makes us better off.

How they think a sub-population of bike delivery men (rarely women) who live in over crowded squalid homes can possibly add to our wellbeing is a fantastic idea. Only the elites could claim it with a straight face in public.

It makes them better off, as people highly reliant on benefits, will, funnily enough, vote for the parties that will increase said benefits…

I have a problem with the use of the word “elite” for these people – it sounds far too positive. What about “DOminant PEople”, or DOPEs?

And do these people live in “over-crowded squalid homes”? It seems to me that they live in comfortable hotels until the government/council rehouse them.

Except that no Council in the Country doesn’t have a long waiting list for accommodation. It seems that illegals are going to the first position. Now why could that be? This is 2TK again, he hates the British taxpayer!

OK, so we know that from time to time there are reports of e-bike batteries bursting into flame but this report seems to imply that e-bikes in ‘migrant’ accommodation have I higher prevalence of immolation. I suppose this could be because more ‘migrants’ acquire cheap rip-off e-bikes than the general population. Or could this report just be misinformation? It strikes me as a bit odd.
Maybe it’s just me being untrustig of what I read..?

One idea can square that circle.

I wonder if e-bike batteries are being recharged by more than just the residents?

Hey there’s free electricity! All you need to do is pay a resident a quid and he’ll plug your battery in and charge it up. The resident then sells the same service to 10-100 other e-bike owners – hence the overload evident in the wiring and the frequency of fires.

Don’t use bloody e-bikes then it isn’t rocket science. Try explaining moronism to a bunch of morons.

Maybe there are shareholders of these recently assembled wankily named food delivery companies within Governmental departments ! Now that would be a surprise !
