Civil Servants Threaten to Strike Over Trans Ban in Women’s Lavatories
Civil servants are threatening strikes and legal action over guidance prohibiting trans ‘women’ from using female toilets and changing rooms in Government buildings. The Telegraph has the story.
Members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) have claimed that such rules would be “segregating our trans and non-binary members in the workplace”.
Their threats come after the Supreme Court ruled last month that transgender women are not legally women, and that “sex” in equality law refers to biological sex.
The equalities watchdog said trans women should not be allowed to use female lavatories, and employers, shops and hospitals should act in line with the judgment.
But activists from PCS will put forward a motion at the union’s annual conference later this month calling for “possible, legal and human rights challenges” to guidance that would enforce the ruling in government toilets and changing rooms.
The motion, first reported by the Daily Mail, states: “Conference rejects biological essentialism and reductionism.
“Conference believes LGBT+ and women’s liberation are interlinked and that our bodies do not define who we are, who we love or what we are capable of.”
It added: “Conference believes any Cabinet Office guidance which prevents trans and gender non-conforming workers from fully accessing their workplace should be opposed in coordination with other civil service unions.”
The newspaper reported that the motion also stated its opposition to what it called the “segregation” of trans women in sport.
PCS previously said that interim advice issued by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) on gender was “not fit for purpose”.
Fran Heathcote, its General Secretary, and Martin Cavanagh, its President, said the watchdog’s guidance was “damaging” and “impossible to implement”.
The motion was reportedly tabled by the Sheffield branch of the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), led by Saorsa-Amatheia Tweedale, the head of the union’s LGBT section.
Isn’t the Civil Service supposed to be neutral? It will be interesting to see if this motion passes and the strikes go ahead – though if they do it will only further undermine the public’s opinion of the Civil Service as captured by woke dogma, of course.

I sometimes wonder don’t they feel afraid of all the terfs in the women’s loos and that they might be attacked or made to feel ‘unsafe’ there? I would think they would be fighting for their own spaces where they feel safe from men and transphobic females.
I know a Civil Servant who works in Whitehall. I doubt he is a member of aunion, he probably threw the letter away inviting him, doubt he knows this conference is happening and is profoundly uninterested in toilets. He just wants to be left alone to do useful work (as far as that is possible in Whitehall – all he can do is his best). My guess is that there are activists and their useful lazy idiots making noise, but a lot of people who just don’t care about this crap.
I wonder how long it will be before they are moved out. One of the latest stories was about plans to move more departments out of London. Not novel, I know – after all, loads of them already have been relocated over the years.
Some of them maybe but imagine senior ones will never be as Ministers will want access and vice versa.
How many people will be willing to strike for more than a token duration and so lose wages for the sake of a tiny percentage of men/trans men using womens’ toilets?
If they do strike then I very much doubt that services will deteriorate. Quite the contrary, I think they will improve. Perhaps then we can rid ourselves of a few of these parasitical pinheads. Then the “unions” which exist only to frottage themselves with other people’s money will wither and die. That’s die as in snuff it not discrimination, inequality/inequity and exclusion.
Just sack them.

Why not treat the civil service like they treated the miners in the early 80s? Go to war with them, I bet the government will win, just like they did then, right or wrong, the unions lost, the unions are not always the enemy, the civil service dont do mornings, afters and nights for 8hrs a day in a mine keeping Britain’s industry going! Hell, youve got all on getting them into the office for two days a week to stand complaining around the water cooler for £60 grand a year, 1983 was not the proudest time to live in Britain!
Speaking of toilets, the huz was telling me earlier how one of his colleagues died today at the office.😔 Of all the places for it to happen, they eventually found him locked in a cubicle in the loos. The worst thing is he’d been there 3 hours. Actually, what’s even more bad luck is that they aren’t the sorts of toilet doors with a gap at the top or bottom, so nobody would have noticed anything untoward from outside.
They only found him because he was late for a meeting and they were ringing his phone and someone heard it in the men’s toilets. I imagine if his phone was on silent he’d have been lying there undiscovered for even longer. Ambulance crew thought possible stroke. Only 45yrs old and father of 3 young kids. His poor wife receiving that news today.😪

Can I suggest the resurrection of the term ‘trouble-maker’, and that ‘trouble-makers’ are identified, rooted out and fired. There will be many people in the Civil Service just as fed up as we are. You certainly dont need to fire them all.
I recall ‘Red Robbo’ Robinson, with bullhorn in his hand, taking rigged votes for strikes at British Leyland. Then they fired him, and everyone went back to work. As an ex Civil Servant I can confirm that probably ninety percent of staff will NOT support this. Most of those that do will be hoping for just a couple of days extra, albeit unpaid leave.

I’m a retired CS. The Office I worked in did have a trans-woman. He/she had had all the surgery and did his/her level best to look as feminine as possible. Neither I, nor any other female members of staff (as far as I could determine) had any issue with him/her using the female loos.
There is an obvious difference between a castrated man pretending to be a woman and someone with all his tackle, simply donning a dress and declaring he is a woman, then accessing female spaces.
I suspect in my old office, whilst there would be some sympathy for the individual I have identified, very few would strike over the issue. They’re mostly working from home now anyway and they’re not going to give up a day’s pay when in reality, it has very little impact on their lives.
Why is the British taxpayer employing people who spout this subversive drivel? Any civil servant who defies the law should face the consequences.
Manpons are still available in men’s toilets. They must be subsidised as I can’t imagine that demand is very high. We need to start building real toilets because you can’t beat a good one. A large public toilet can be like a town square in terms of the interchange of culture and ideas. They are things of beauty and a testament to civic pride.

Biological essentialism? It’s always been interesting the way the “radicals” hide their hostility towards humanity by claiming that they are pursuing “liberation” from our biology.
What I also find interesting ( as well as hugely hypocritical ) is that nowadays, in this era of political correctness on steroids, if a white person were to go full-on ‘black face’ and parody a member of the black community, the reaction would be massively negative, to say the least. A man parodying a woman, however, we’re all meant to fawn over them ( and shamefully, many women do ) and bend over backwards to accommodate them, welcoming them into our spaces and our sports without hesitation etc.
If the black community would be justified in being upset about someone of a different race cosplaying them then why are women expected to react positively when we encounter men larping as us, especially when it’s rather obvious a lot of the time that they have an ulterior motive? I’ve tried three times this week to talk to DVLA. Gave up the first time after a 45 min wait, hung up on two consecutive days after being advised there was a 30 min queue.

So a Public Sector Trade Union, representing supposedly impartial Civil Servants and working for a Civil Service which is required to uphold THE LAW is planning to strike in defiance of THE LAW.
Presumably Two-Tier is going to (a) sack the lot of them and (b) prosecute them for breaking THE LAW.

I presume just as in councils, we taxpayers pay for Civil servants to be full time union reps when the unions should pay for them themselves.
