Europe Resorts to the Carbon Indulgences Scam Again
Politico reported last week that the European Commission wants to keep the 90% emissions-cutting 2040 target by changing how countries calculate their progress. The EU – reeling from the backlash to its costly green policies – is proposing purchasing international carbon credits to meet its 2040 target of cutting its carbon emissions by 90%. The Telegraph reported that the UK Government plans to rejoin the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme carbon market that it left when Brexit took effect at the end of 2020.
A green-obsessed Europe and UK, busy deindustrialising with self-inflicted high energy prices, are faced with new challenges. They are intent on carrying on the Ukraine proxy war against Russia “to the last Ukrainian” in contrast with President Trump’s refusal to fund the protracted conflict and his efforts to negotiate peace. Germany is seeking to fund its defence requirements by exempting defence spending from constitutional fiscal constraints now that the trans-Atlantic alliance is fraying.

We no longer live in a scientific age, we live in the age of ‘The $cience.’
Your spelling is incorrect…… might I suggest ‘BS’

Energy Fortress Europe takes on the Weather Gods.
Europeans might as well still be worshipping Freyr, Thor, Neptune and Zeus.
So “green” is not about Emergency on Planet Earth but about shovelling money to cronies, and power. Who knew? The object of power is power. There are obviously useful idiots who truly believe, but TPTB clearly do not.
We need to stop indulging in “their” terminology, it’s not Carbon, the only natural forms of carbon are graphite and diamonds, and we are not dealing with either of those.
They are referring to an inert gas Carbon Dioxide, and we should always correct them when they quote carbon – oh you mean that trace gas that cannot be accurately measured its level is so low, that is the basis of photosynthesis and thus all life on Earth – that carbon!
They call us Climate Deniers (among other insults), we should call them plant haters, or plant killers!
And the principal atom of all known life-forms is carbon – underneath the windbaggery and word saladry, purveyors of climate claptrap are humanity haters.
That’s ascribing sense to something which doesn’t have any. Using carbon instead of carbon dioxide is just another example of the irritating American habit of cutting each word down to its first syllable because “Everybody knows what was meant!” (and we’re much to lazy to pronounce more than one syllable) which brought us abominations like veg, meds, pressie and brekkie (for vegetables, medicines, present and breakfast). The overall impression of this sort-of language is that of someone breathlessly shouting all the time because of the increased density of stressed syllables.
We’ll save the planet but can’t even be arsed to say dioxide because that’s just too much botheration¹! is an extremely credible proposal.

‘Math’ really annoys me…
They rely on the general public being ignorant morons and not seeing that the claim of 100% renewable electricity supply is not true and only 100% in terms of bullshit. You only need to look at the UK energy mix to see that it could never be true.
It’s going to be joyous tomorrow watching how they justify importing coal and coke from Japan to keep to Milibrains net zero commitment to not mine and coke our own UK supplies. Oh how they will have to squirm
My thoughts exactly. Supporting British Steel while at the same time hobbling it by not allowing our own raw materials to be used making it. The insanity is there for all to see. Even for the idiots that support net zero it makes no sense, but Starmer has to try and defend it.
