Greenpeace Pours ‘Blood’ in US Embassy Pond to Protest Arming Israel, Leading to Arrest of Charity Boss

The head of Greenpeace UK, Will McCallum, has been arrested after the group poured blood-red dye into the US embassy’s pond in London in protest against arms sales to Israel. The Telegraph has more.

The campaign group said it had tipped 300 litres of biodegradable dye into the water outside the building in Nine Elms, south west London.

Will McCallum, Greenpeace UK’s Co-Executive Director, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to cause criminal damage, alongside five other activists who also face charges of criminal damage.

If charged and convicted of the offence, he could be jailed for a maximum of 10 years.

Pictures show 12 protesters pouring the dye from containers emblazoned with the words “Stop Arming Israel”.

They claim US State Department figures show Donald Trump has “continued the policy” of his predecessor, Joe Biden, since taking office by supplying nearly $12 billion weapons to Israel.

The group said the containers were taken to the embassy building on bikes disguised as delivery drivers.

Areeba Hamid, Greenpeace UK’s Co-Executive Director, said: “These arrests are further proof that the right to protest is under attack in the UK.

“This protest used biodegradable pond dye that is designed to disperse and wash away naturally.

“As the biggest supplier of weapons to the Israeli military, the US Government bears a heavy responsibility for the horrors unfolding in Gaza.

“Rather than passing laws that make it easier for police to arrest people who make their voices heard on the issues they care about, the US and UK Governments should listen to the majority of Americans and Brits who support an arms embargo on Israel.”

Looks like Greenpeace has gone full Thunberg.

You cant put ‘blood’ in the headline and then in the next line put blood red dye. Can you not see the issue here?

That’s my point. Either you can see it or you can’t. If you can’t see it then don’t beat yourself up about it.

“Stop arming Israel” is madleft code for “how dare these people, with their functioning democracy, and the rule of law, defend themselves from the group which is planning the Second Holocaust”.

In increasingly secular societies, everyone needs some kind of new belief system to replace the hole left by the absence of religion, or some hill to die on, even if that hill is a pile of superficial nonsense!

An article pro the murdering state of Israel.
A bit late DS I’d say.
Maybe the 50,000 plus dead civilians and God knows how many dead under the rubble might make some think again.
Greater Israel going according to plan, and not many in the West seem to care.
Genocide, ethnic cleansing, call it what you want, – but no, its God’s chosen people just defending themselves. Lol.

Genocide

The Israelis are so incompetent – as this is the first “genocide” in history where the population of the targetted group has gone up.

Only about 10k Gazan civilians are dead. 20k were militants, and the rest made up by the scum that run the place.
As for murderous, that would be the detritus that ran amok on 7/10.

50,000 dead civilians according to the Hamas minister of propaganda. Foreign journalists are banned from Gaza so there’s no way of accurately challenging these figures, why might that be?

Who cares whether or not they’re “God’s chosen people”? A nation has the right, indeed the duty, to defend itself and its people. What is the alternative? To allow Hamas, with their pledge to murder as many Jews as possible etched into their covenant, to gather strength and follow through on their stated intention of committing an “October 7th” again and again (probably on a much larger scale at the next given opportunity)? Israel have a clear and present danger on their border, and you’re suggesting they just stand down?
And the figures you quote, by the way, are the official government statistics for Palestine, i.e. those released to the international media by Hamas!

So if Muslims attack your town, kill 1200 people and drag away 250 as hostages, you will just sit down, shrug your shoulders and do nothing?

That’s handy for Muslims to know…like in the good old days of Muslim raids on European coastal settlements, dragging Christians away to be sold as White Sex Slaves to the Islamic world.

Also the headline uses irregular Americanised use of English. We say ‘to protest against’ rather than ‘to protest’. Things like that are a big giveaway if you have eyes to see them.

“Will McCallum…could be jailed for a maximum of ten years.”

That will do nicely.

I have neither time nor sympathy for this anti-humanity, planet bashing mob of eco nutters so if one, or a few cop for some prison time – tuff.

Greenpeace were founded to protest on issues regarding the environment so wtf are they now protesting about what’s happening in Gaza.
Incidentally Patrick Moore, one of the founders of Greenpeace left the group, maybe 8-10 years ago, because he didn’t agree with them that climate change was manmade and was a catastrophy about to happen. Greenpeace then photo shopped pictures of it’s founders so that he wasn’t included in them.

I thought Greenpeace was supposed to be focused on the environment and wildlife, now it appears they are also focused on removing the state of Israel, neither very Green or very peaceful.

Areeba Hamid from India was bizarrely appointed as “Co-Executive Director of Greenpeace”, as if the Executive Director Will McCallum couldn’t manage it all by himself. “Greenpeace UK has appointed Areeba Hamid and Will McCallum as its new joint Executive Directors.   This is the FIRST TIME IN THE DECADES-LONG HISTORY of the environmental group’s UK office that the role has been held by two people.   Areeba, 39, is currently Global Finance Program Director at The Sunrise Project, a global network of changemakers focusing on ending all financial support for fossil fuels through building movements. She is also a board member of the Joint Council for the WELFARE OF MIGRANTS. Previously, Areeba has worked at senior levels in several Greenpeace offices around the world. She has campaigned to halt climate breakdown throughout her career including by supporting marine conservation, HALTING COAL EXPANSION IN INDIA and palm oil-driven rainforest destruction in Indonesia, and getting banks to end financing tar sands in Canada and North America. Born in India, she will be the first woman and first person of colour to lead Greenpeace in the UK.” Here they are, her looking as hard as nails, and funny how only THE WHITE PRIVILEGED… Read more »
