Why would Tim Stanley write about the elites sorting themselves out? He has been arouynd long enough to observe their disgrace without strong comments.

Johanna Robinson, a Sentencing Council adviser, spoke out against the Tories’ “Illegal” Migration Bill in 2023, reports the Telegraph. We are not surprised. Who appointed her/him/it/them – theTories of course.

Andrew Lynn has written rubbish about tarriffs.

While free trade is the best arragnement, mercantilist policies buy others and unbalanced tarriffs are not a fair way of trading.

The USA is such a large market that suppliers will, in many / most cases, bear the costs.

Have you seen this extraordinary find by Dr. Tess Lawrie on Rhoda Wilson’s “The Expose” website? As long ago as 1875 people were warning against vaccines for children:

Pretty much, going by the latest example with Marine Le Pen, and I fear *they’ll* pull something out the bag to ensure Farage never makes it to number 10 either; ”How to turn democracies into dictatorships: 1) Import millions of people from cultures/religions which are least likely to integrate into the host country. 2) Never make this a manifesto commitment – just do it, even in the full knowledge the electorate do not want this. 3) Elevate the imported people into 1st class citizens, whilst demoting the native citizenry to 2nd class status. 4) Smear all objection to these governmental crimes as “far-right” “racist” and “Islamophobic.” 5) Should a political party representing the views of the native citizens look like winning a major election, arrest its leaders or simply cancel the election result on a trumped up charge. 6) Use the Dying Legacy Media to persuade the masses that the banning of democracy was undertaken to Save Democracy from the evil far-right. 7) If mass social unrest ensues, call in the army, declare Martial Law and lock up the dissenters in Concentration Camps. 8) Declare the end of elections. Society is so fractured and volatile it can only be governed… Read more »

Sorry, Geert, I know she’s going to appeal but I don’t share your optimism;

”I am shocked by the incredible tough verdict against @MLP_officiel
. I support and believe in her for the full 100% and I trust she will win the appeal and become President of France.” Geert Wilders

Putin drafts 160,000 men into Russian army despite peace talks

This is not popular:

The Kremlin is nervous. On Saturday night, a limousine belonging to Vladimir Putin’s official fleet dramatically exploded north of the headquarters of the Russian security services……..To Western intelligence agencies, the situation is becoming clear: within Russia’s top brass, the knives are out for their leader.’

‘She vents her anger at how attacks on the border regions were long ignored:
“When we get f**ked – it’s fine. But when it’s the f**king Moscow region – suddenly it’s a goddamn disaster! Let them sit the f**k down and shut up, those bastards. They’ve been living without fear, without a clue.”

“I didn’t sleep all night – it was buzzing and buzzing. And I thought: yep, those b**ches are flying to Moscow. Seventy of them! Good. Should’ve gone straight to Moscow so they’d finally react. While poor people suffer, Moscow dances and sings.”

As of 2021, all Russian men between 18 and 27 are conscripted for 1 year. Conscription takes place in two tranches each year. They are not used in the Ukraine war by law.

That regular down voter clearly doesn’t like this topic being discussed, I have my suspicions but he really needs to grow up.

Not sure if it’s already been shared but the psycho who stabbed multiple people ( all luckily survived ) in Amsterdam is Ukrainian, the guy who decked him and made a citizen’s arrest is British. More like this brave chap, please! ”The suspect, a 30-year-old man from Donetsk, a region of Ukraine currently occupied by Russia, is set to appear before a judge on Tuesday. The judge will decide whether he should remain in custody for up to 14 more days while the investigation continues. He faces a potential arraignment before a three-judge panel at a district court, which could extend his detention by up to 90 days. A public hearing on the status of the case is not expected until after July 1. The motive behind the attack is still unclear. Authorities are investigating whether the incident had terrorist or criminal motivations.  A British tourist has been widely praised for his actions in subduing the attacker before police arrived. The man, who has been described as modest and reluctant to seek attention, received significant recognition for his quick thinking and bravery. Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema awarded him a hero’s medal. “He has no interest in fame and is primarily focused… Read more »

Usual suspect. But what’s one more violent man demonstrating illogical, emotion-driven behaviour? On and on it goes…

”An Afghan man had been charged with murder after killing another Afghan for “bad behavior” in a dramatic scene captured on video in France.
Frantic screaming began after witnesses saw a horrific scene develop in front of them on Friday, at around 6:30 p.m. in Bordeaux, France. At Place de la Victoire, a 28-year-old Afghan was stabbed to death by a fellow 27-year-old Afghan national, with the victim splayed on his back as he bled out from his neck.
The suspect, who has been charged with murder, can be seen on the video sitting calmly after the murder.
The attacker reportedly arranged to meet with the victim before murdering him due to the victim’s “bad behavior” towards the suspect’s family in Afghanistan, according to French newspaper Le Parisien.”

Home workers shift to commuting hygge:

‘A portable mattress for commuters who hate getting out of bed has been revealed.
Retailing at £350, The Odd Company has launched the “City Napper”: a luxury, portable mattress, designed to help burnt-out-Brits regain some precious sleep on their commute.

The portable mattress features a cushioned, wrap-around headrest for neck support, so pains are a thing of the past for pre-work dozing.

No coat? No problem. The City Napper’s quilted pocho cover will drape over your front and back, not only keeping you cosy but public transport germs at bay.

Commenting on the City Napper, Andrew Seed, Managing Director at The Odd Company said:

“We all know that feeling of having to tear ourselves away from our beds in the morning, only to face the cold and crowded commute. That’s why we created the City Napper: a portable mattress designed with the modern commuter in mind.”

“Commuting becomes more bearable, naps become more accessible, and bed FOMO is abolished with the City Napper. Grab one for your journey to work and be the envy of your fellow travellers.”

April Fool?

The liberal state is going full Big Nanny” – After Le Pen’s ban, a Quakers raid and a transphobic toddler suspended from school, can MPs save us from authoritarianism? asks Tim Stanley in the Telegraph.

The sad thing is none of the numerous recent examples cited by Mr Stanley on 31 March 2025 are pre-April fools – the Theatre of the Absurd is playing out minute by minute in front of our very eyes.

As part of an ongoing research project, just discovered (even using a VPN identifying as Switzerland) “for legal reasons” I can no longer access the website of a highly-reputable major American corporate, accessed on and off for decades – lawfare is work of the devil.

It might have been better to have kept quiet about this Toby. Offering FSU membership to Charlie Mullins while refusing Tommy Robinson; it’s not a good look.

Was Tommy refused because of his fame? Maybe they were worried that all his court cases in future would use up all of the limited FSU funding, leaving ordinary obscure folk with no one to defend them. Just wondering what reason they gave him…

The FSU, as I understand it, sets out to assist people are involved in free speech issues. The legal issue with Robinson was not lack of free speech, but contempt of court. His position is indefensible in this respect, although the severity of the sentence and his treatment in prison are both questionable but not diectly free speech issues.

Well that confirms my suspicion.

But people don’t join the Free Speech Union only if they need assistance with court cases that have been brought against them! They join because they believe in Free Speech and want to support the Free Speech Union. So I don’t understand why Tommy was not allowed to join as a member supporting the work of the Free Speech Union. You said, “the severity of the sentence and his treatment in prison are both questionable”, but that is the understatement of the year! No other person has been imprisoned for contempt of court for decades, and no other person convicted of a CIVIL OFFENCE has ever been imprisoned with Terrorists and Murderers in a Maximum Security Prison in Solitary Confinement for Months, which is a clear violation of his human rights under international law. You are correct that his case is not directly a free speech issue, but that doesn’t explain why he was not allowed to join the FSU as an ordinary member. The only reason I can think of is that the FSU was worried that if his many court cases continued in the future, it would severely drain the limited financial resources of the FSU, which would… Read more »

Do these people realise that the convicting Le Pen charade will have the opposite effect and it’s only going to move more indecisive voters to the right?

Legarde didn’t even get a criminal record for misusing… 100+ times the amount of funds in 2016.

A French court has found International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde guilty of negligence but did not hand down any punishment.

As French finance minister in 2008, she approved an award of €404m ($429m; £340m) to businessman Bernard Tapie for the disputed sale of a firm.

Accused of allowing the misuse of public funds, rather than actual corruption, she could potentially have been sentenced to a year in prison and a fine of €15,000, but escaped a sentence and emerges from the trial without a criminal record.”

Incredible! Well done for exposing this gross injustice and “two-tier sentencing” in French courts. Le Pen and Jordan Bardella should be kicking up about this.

Not to mention von der Leyen who was being accused of corruption in her post as Defence Minister in Germany (giving contracts to a company owned by a friend of hers) before being put out of reach into her current position where she, very irregularly, apparently conducted contract negotiations for excessive numbers of Pfizer’s ‘vaccines’ via mobile phone text messages. The EU is also always happy to fund diverse NGOs strongly promoting EU ‘values’ in foreign elections and to react accordingly if results are disappointing, e.g. Romania. Let us not start on how much EU money has disappeared in the direction of Ukraine.

British Empire taught Muslims homophobia, claims historian

Please understand that ISLAM IS NOT HOMOPHOBIC.

Sodomy is religiously condoned by the Koran and almost universally practiced (see The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan), though very strictly defined:

Only the VICTIMS of Sodomite Rape are considered “guilty” in Islam of “Tempting the Innocent Rapists”, just as female victims of rape are considered “guilty” and punished accordingly.

Only the VICTIMS of Sodomite Rape can be “thrown off high buildings”, NOT THE INNOCENT RAPISTS.

The sodomy condoned includes bestiality, in which the goat, for example, is considered “guilty of tempting the innocent human rapist”, and must be killed after the rape, but the meat is forbidden to be consumed by the rapist, who must sell the meat in another town.
