Disney’s Snow White Projected to Lose $115 Million
Disney’s woke Snow White makeover is set to lose a staggering $115 million at the box office, according to distribution sources cited by Deadline. The Mail has more.
Disney’s Snow White has been suffering a number of embarrassing setbacks, with a new report claiming it will lose a staggering amount at the box office.
The film starring Rachel Zegler as the title character reportedly had a whopping production budget between $240 million and $270 million, not counting the hundreds of millions poured into publicity and advertising.
Snow White opened with a disappointing $42.2 million at the domestic box office last weekend, and then it dropped a whopping 66% drop in its second weekend.
It’s currently taken in $66.9 million at the domestic box office after two weekends and $142.7 million worldwide.
This live-action rendition of the original 1937 animated classic hasn’t been a hit with critics either, with just a 40% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Now a new report from Deadline is claiming that Disney will likely suffer a loss of $115 million from the film, when all is said and done.
The projected loss is based on an estimated global take of $225 million, $100 million domestic and $125 million worldwide.
The report is projecting total revenues for Snow White at $295 million, which includes $101 million in global film rentals, $62 million in worldwide home entertainment, $130 million from streaming and TV revenues and $2 million from merchandise.
The film’s projected total expenses add up to a whopping $410 million, including a $270 million production budget, $111 million in global publicity and advertising and $29 million for residuals and other expenses.
Those figures don’t include potential future revenue streams from things like Disney theme parks and/or cruises.
It’s also possible that the film could really explode when it arrives on the Disney Plus streaming service, though that remains to be seen.

Maybe people will watch it at home so (1) they aren’t embarrassed to be seen to be doing it. And (2) to have it confirmed in private how awful it is.
I’ll usually watch any old crap sometimes but I’ll be giving this a wide berth.
During a pub lunch on Saturday, I was sat across from a table of retirees when one lady mentioned this film, she said “it gets a lot of criticism but it was lovely”……Point is it is the views of the actress that has garnered the criticism.
True, but it’s the views of the spending public that matter, not some self important little girl!
Maybe it’s not as bad as all that and maybe some of the negative feedback is based on the actress not the film.
BUT I think it’s also possible that this lady is simply not that sensitive to woke bollocks and doesn’t spot when she is being preached at. My default assumption about mainstream Hollywood output is that there is a political agenda subtly or not so subtly woven into it. It has been like that for a while. This lady may not realise she is being cynically manipulated by experts.
They probably get all their information from the BBC, enough said.
I think it has been gradual and widespread. One becomes used to things and things that would have jarred become normal, over time. Once your eyes are opened however, you can’t unsee it and start noticing a lot more.
Very true. During the lockdown era I was speaking to an ex-midwife, she was fully on board with the jabs, masks and flu jabs. I said I had a problem with the constant propaganda, she said “what propaganda?” She was inured to the constant ads during every tv and radio break and the ‘Look into her eyes’ malarkey.

I went to a ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” pantomime a couple of years ago, with seven real dwarfs, who were great.
I was involved in a production of Snow White a few years back and the dwarves were children bar one.
