More Than 50 Experts Ready to Defend Letby, Says Her Lawyer
More than 50 experts stand ready to defend Lucy Letby, her barrister has said, as the police confirm they have questioned her in prison over more deaths and collapses. The Telegraph has the story.
On Tuesday night, Cheshire Constabulary confirmed that it had questioned Letby about more deaths and collapses at the Countess of Chester Hospital and also at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, where she worked as a student.
Mark McDonald, Letby’s barrister, confirmed that she had agreed to be voluntarily interviewed by officers but had not been arrested.
Mr. McDonald, who is planning to take Letby’s case to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, said she maintained her innocence. He said he had met dozens of experts in neonatology, pathology and statistics who were willing to question the evidence against her.
“Lucy maintains her innocence, and she has never, and would never, harm any child,” he said. “It was a voluntary interview to which she voluntarily agreed. She was not arrested, and it was all very vague.
“Right now, we are focusing on showing that her original conviction is unsafe and we have made very substantial progress in doing so, which makes me question the timing of this by the police.
“Last Saturday, I had a meeting with over 50 experts from across the world in neonatology, statistics, anaesthetics and pathology, so any new trial – which I am sceptical there will be – we will have a line of expert witnesses. They are also ready to question the reliability of the evidence that was presented at the first trial.”
Letby, 34, of Hereford, is already serving 14 whole-life terms for the murders of seven infants and the attempted murders of seven others at the Countess of Chester between 2015 and 2016.
Following the verdicts, Cheshire Constabulary said it would be reviewing around 4,000 more babies that she cared for at the Countess of Chester and Liverpool Women’s Hospital, where she completed placements in 2012 and 2015.
The ongoing Thirlwall Inquiry – which is looking into how deaths at the Countess of Chester could have been prevented – has previously heard that dislodgement of breathing tubes happened at a rate 40 times higher than normal during Letby’s shifts at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
However, neonatologists and statisticians have written to Lady Justice Thirlwall questioning the data and branding it “not credible”.

Look, the NHS is a God like entity, so of course sacrifices had to be made to protect its upper echelons. Justice in the country is now a sick farce as the riot prosecutions have shown.
I agree – the state targetting of patriots was shocking to see. And my own faith in our justice system has now all but evaporated. On the other hand, people are now waking up to the reality that the state itself is our enemy.

It seems rather amazing to me that the police are “reviewing” 4,000 babies that she cared for. Does this mean they are looking at cases that until now have not been thought to be suspicious, looking for links to Ms Letby? That does not sound like a normal police enquiry to me.
It also sounds like a pretty cruel thing to do to the parents of those 4,000 babies.
So just as it’s looking like LL has been stitched up by the dodgy consultant (who is from elsewhere on the planet ) & despite being crucified by the whole apparatus of state & media she could could get an appeal they’ve doubled down against her !
How many medical experts in the field did we have advising against lockdowns and experimental ‘vaccines’. Hundreds? Thousands? They were mostly ignored and I wonder if that will sadly be the case with these 50. Its just the same with the climate change and net zero scams. Plenty of scientists and experts in the know speaking out but you wouldnt be aware of it if you only look at MSM.
