Labour MP: Cutting off a Woman’s Breasts “Drastically Improves Well-Being and Saves Lives”
Male Labour MP Alex Sobel has said the NHS should stop using “gendered vocabulary” when treating pregnant women, adding that cutting off a woman’s breasts “drastically improves well-being and saves lives”. The Telegraph has more.
Alex Sobel, Leeds Central and Headingley MP, said doctors should use gender-neutral language when referring to expectant parents to include transgender men [i.e., women who identify as men].
Speaking during a debate on International Men’s Day, he said failing to ask a transgender man if there was a possibility [she] could be pregnant before hospital treatment could result in “serious consequences”.
Trans men, who were born female but identify as male, do not always undergo gender reassignment surgery, meaning that in some circumstances they could still become pregnant.
Mr. Sobel, 49, told the Commons: “Across the NHS there needs to be a greater awareness of trans men and trans masculine people who have given birth.
“For example [if] a trans man is not asked whether he [sic] could [be] pregnant before receiving a dose of radiation, there could be serious consequences.
“We can begin by removing gendered vocabulary from pregnancy care and parenthood.”
He also warned that trans men “face a number of barriers in accessing equal quality healthcare on the NHS”, including long waiting lists for breast removal surgery.
“This leaves a situation where trans men and trans masculine individuals are forced to pay for private care, which not everyone can do, as we know,” he said.
“Or to put up with dysphoria and other associated mental health impacts, for which there is a lack of sector-wide support and training.
“Top surgery [i.e., removal of the breasts] drastically improves well-being and saves lives.”

but if they declare themselves as a man, then they cannot expect to be treated as other than a man. A man does not have breasts, a vagina, a womb,ovaries, cervix. Canoot get pregnant, have periods, a menopause, cannot suffer ovarian/ cervical cancer. So if they are as they declare a Man, they should not need to be treated for female related illnesses.

Interesting that he refers to the mental health of these people. At some point, I pray that society will wake up and realise that this whole issue is a mental health issue and chopping parts off a human being or pumping them full of drugs not suited for treating mental health issues is medically criminal and we start treating people who want to mutilate themselves correctly, as with any other forms of self harm.
“Top Surgery (Chest Feminization or Chest Masculinization)” does indeed save lives as it prevents possible cancers.I wonder if the MP has considered for himself “bottom surgery” to avoid rectal cancer, or “lower front surgery” to avoid testicular cancer, top-top surgery to avoid brain cancer.

I am being simplistic if I suggest that in the NHS somebody who is male is referred to as a man and somebody who is female is referred to as a woman making it clear who can and can’t get pregnant.

The issue isn’t asking biological women about possibility of being pregnant, this is standard practice, the issue is asking biological males if they might be pregnant.
The biological identity certainly will be known to clinicians and noted. In the case of radiological procedures the request form will carry this information.
The GP and the hospital service has been dealing with transsexuels (correct term) quite successfully and satisfactorily since long before Mr Sobel was born.
This matter is not new, involves only a tiny fraction – a rounding error in fact – of the population and has only recently become a mainstream issue because of the likes of Mr Sobel (pronouns: nincompoop, dumbass) for ideological and petty political reasons.
Gender is a designation used exclusively in language to determine status of nouns: masculine, feminine, neuter – usually.
It has no application in biology. How many genders do tulips have, or mice? Can a dog identify as a bitch or decide it’s non-binary?

I recently spoke with a senior BTP officer – he said that working in BTP was now absolutely awful, and that the reason was their Chief Constable being removed from reality and having no interest whatsoever in basic policing, just obsessed with the entire ‘woke’ crap.
