U.S. Government Invited U.K. Counter Disinformation Unit to High Level Meeting for Tips on How to Censor the Public
The U.S. Government invited the U.K. Counter Disinformation Unit to a high level meeting in summer 2021 to gain tips on how to censor the public, new documents obtained by America First Legal reveal. Here’s an excerpt.
Today, America First Legal released new documents exclusively obtained in its litigation against the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). AFL obtained the slide deck used in a presentation by the United Kingdom’s “Counter Disinformation Unit” to the Biden-Harris National Security Council (NSC) Interagency Policy Committee (IPC) on August 10th 2021. This release comes on the heels of calls from House Cybersecurity Subcommittee Chairwoman, Nancy Mace, to ensure that the 2024 election is protected from the deep state censorship that was prevalent in the 2020 election.
As a part of the NSC’s regular interagency meetings on censoring Covid-related speech in the United States, the White House hosted the Counter Disinformation Unit (CDU) from the U.K. Government in 2021 to learn about its most effective censorship techniques. Some of the U.K.’s recommendations to the Biden-Harris Administration included:
- Establishing a dedicated unit to lead Government-wide censorship efforts;
- Enacting legislation for the Government to regulate the misinformation and disinformation policies of tech companies, and punish them if they refuse to comply with Government censorship demands;
- Create and maintain partnerships with companies to ‘flag’ disfavoured content;
- Use the foreign policy apparatus to coordinate this shared agenda between aligned governments and multilateral institutions;
- Leverage its control over social media to “counter disinformation” and promote Leftist dogma.
This meeting was attended by high-level staff from the White House, the NSC, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Departments of State, Treasury, Defence (DOD), Homeland Security (DHS) and Health and Human Services (HHS), the U.S. Agencies for International Development (USAID) and Global Media (USAGM), as well as high-ranking officers in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
At this meeting, the CDU outlined how it has been censoring the British public, and these documents expose how Left-wing authoritarian governments across the globe are working together to attack free speech.
During the censorship meeting, the Biden-Harris NSC invited the British Government to share its censorship playbook. It recommended creating a dedicated hub to lead government-wide censorship efforts, passing legislation to enable the government to coerce social media companies and enlisting the Department of State to partner with foreign allies and multilateral institutions to coordinate the global censorship agenda.

With no apparent appreciation for the irony that the First Amendment to our Constitution was adopted following our independence from Great Britain, these records show that the Biden-Harris regime apparently engaged with representatives from the United Kingdom on ways to more effectively censor the speech of Americans across the country. The Biden-Harris Administration’s desire to silence speech and control what information Americans are able to obtain is so extreme, so pervasive and so over-the-top that it is willing to listen to foreign governments explain ways to better violate core constitutional rights of the American people. Freedom of speech is essential to the success of our democratic republic, and for the continued betterment of humanity.

Aren’t we generous? Not only do we give away our heavy industries like steel but we also give away our “expertise” in how to censor the British people. I’m sure all the “experts” who gave their time to travel to America to deliver their knowledge enjoyed the jaunt. At our expense of course.
My only surprise was that such meetings had not been routine since Cameron-Clegg announced the “Nudge Unit” in ?2010.
Maybe they were and this one was made public as cover for earlier ones and to show publicly they don’t care what we think.
This heavy-handed censorship and attack on our freedom of speech/expression is never going to go away is it? As long as you oppose any of the government-pushed narratives you’re seen as a threat and they’re coming for you, as people have learnt the hard way. But it’s a bullying tactic used to deter and oppress us, and the only way to deal with bullies is to stick together and stand up to them. This is when platforms such as Twitter come into their own because people can share their plight and raise awareness to unjust treatment in seconds. It would seem that Sweden are as bad as the UK when it comes to posting memes being treat as a hate crime, as this Swedish Democrat MP found out. Tommy Robinson, as Masjid Nawaaz points out on his Substack, is an Israeli State Patsy as is Elon Musk who is also aiding and abetting the call to civil war and the inevitable UK State crackdown on its citizens and increasing arms shipments and support to Israel.
I have a lot of time for Mr Nawaaz, especially during the mandates, but he called Laurance Fox some sort of fascist (ethno fascist?). Anyway, there is no evidence for that. Fox is a patriot and so is Robinson. 2TK and his Globalist palls are the cause of civil war by smearing concerned citizens as “far right”.
I have mixed feelings when this sort of news comes out.
On the one hand, great that it’s being exposed.
On the other hand, we all know that nothing is going to be done about this. And so when news like this is received with a collective shrug, it basically makes it ok. Accepted, fine. This is what happens. What can we do? Nothing.
The result is a greater sense of despair and hopelessness knowing the censors can carry on emboldened.
I sort of agree but not sure how collective the shrug is. What % of the UK population will be aware of this? Legacy media will of course ignore it because they seem happy with this state of affairs.
Corporate media ignoring stories is part of the shrugging process, as I see it.
The Professional Managerial Class basically outsource all their thinking to corporate news. If they don’t cover a story, then as far as the PMC is concerned, it’s not a story.
The PMC is completely incapable of thinking for themselves. They don’t have the mental disposition to assess for themselves whether something is scandalous or not. They look to the corporate media and each other for cues as to how to react to things.

Your ‘sense of despair and hopelessness’ is exactly what the governing class relies on. This immigration thing is another classic example of divide and rule; create the problem followed by the solution and the reaction. The Israeli State also benefits from the rising anti-muslim sentiment with Tommy Robinson and Sir Keir Starmer serving as their Patsies in this country. If the people of Southport instead of burning down the poor immigrants’ hotel had decided to march to London and burn down 10 Downing St. this whole shit show would be over.

Getting around censorship rules isn’t rocket science. Very difficult to pin down irony within a legalistic framework. Other totalitarian countries have worked out ways of evading the censors. It is worthwhile studying them.

Maybe I’m being totally naive and misunderstanding this, but it seems we have a governmental organisation (the CDU) set up presumably by the previous Tory government that is not only figuring out ways of cancelling those of us with views it doesn’t like, but is also actively promoting leftist dogma.
